It would work better for you if the two rear hoses both went out of the vehicle. By having the intake inside the trailer you were pulling cooled air from your van, pulling heat from it and then venting it out your roof. Which means the air you were pushing out of your van needed to be replaced by hot air leaking into your van from outside. Under the cooling front vent is an intake grill. It is designed to pull air from inside the room, be cooled, and come out the top front. It is two systems. One takes outside air and makes it hotter while the other takes inside air and makes it cooler. Vent it properly and you'll find it works better. I don't have a ZeroBreeze (though I'm considering one) but I have installed a mini split in our house and it works the same way. Keep the outside half outside and the inside half inside if you want to have it work right. Window Air Conditioners do the same thing. You don't bring in outside air. You heat the outside air and cool the inside air. With the intake hose inside the van it would be like opening the window after installing a window AC. Pointless.

I have to tell you how happy I am owning and having a Zero Breeze Mark 2, It was hot and it was muggy. Inside my camper van was nice and cool when using mark2

Thank you. I don’t have a lot of windows in my van. I think if you would have shut the curtains or used your reflectix like you said, it might have done better. I’m certainly considering this unit. Thanks again.

thank you. even good for motor homes that have ac units, when you are trying to dry camp and use less energy.

So you have to be close to a widow and ceiling fan for the large hoses and also be near a sink for water drainage. Looks like a lot of tubes you hsve to get around each day, especially if your RV has a nartow walkway. I see where some A/C companies are coming out with 12-volt roof-top air conditioners that will run on solar.Less tubing, no battery recharging and you don't have to store it away when traveling on the highway. Plus it will cool down a van as you have a choice of different BTUs. Only drawback is that the roof-top is not portable.

Roof-top Acs are also power hog!! Some RVs don't have sufficient power system to run it

Nice review. You noted that you had 400wh of battery. Did you mean 400ah? Thanks!

I would definitely get one Mark 2 if it was possible to charge it thru solar. Seems like you can only use it for one night and then find an outlet just to charge it again. That is not an option in camping sites.

it is solar rechargeable. Will solar powered AC be the new trend?

The Mark 2 would have been a great portable air conditioner if not for the 2300BTUs it only has. Others have around 4000BTUs.

This is is ridiculously expensive 😭 (more expensive that a normal sized ac unit at home)
I like how portable it is cos Im thinking about bringing it to camping....but the price damn.

The reflectix and closed curtains would likely have made a big difference.
