Medieval Christendom spoke of mythical land “in the East” where a King named Prestor John was said to have ruled over a magnificent Christian kingdom “amidst the pagan and the infidels that surrounded him.” Many came to believe over time that this place was not in Central Asia but rather Ethiopia, and here in this rendition the myth makes sense - a mighty and powerful king descended from one of the Three Magi rules a Christian Empire and is a steadfast aegis against the tides of Hell.
Also the myth of the Queen of Sheba and the bloodline of Solomon might have ended up in Ethiopia. What if they have the Arc of the Covenant, that would potentially be a war ending weapon.

Ok so... If Ethiopia is not only still around but the preeminent power in Eastern Africa, that probably means that the Ethiopian Jews are not only still around, but are probably thriving. The Jewish Kingdom of Semien was at the height of its power when the portal was opened by the Templars in Jerusalem, so the need to unite against a common foe across religious divides might have meant they became a fully integrated part of the empire. I'm sure I read somewhere that the creators have hinted that the Jewish people are still around in the setting and are part of the fight against the demons, but not much else.

A silly but cool suggestion would be whether there is a Portuguese empire or even a Brazilian empire, as historically these nations have always been home to millions of Catholics throughout history In addition, the Catholic cultures of these countries are unique and eccentric, being a source of ideas for trench crusades, as a Brazilian and being one of the very few fans of these works here In this country I would feel represented by seeing the religious culture here being put into the work. Now part of me wonder if Solomon ancestry and Prestor John would be referenced as a nod to their national epic and most ambassadors try to claim as “Preston John’s envoys” to curry favor with Christian kingdoms (either true in their universe, “fabricated”, or ambiguous… like being post apocalyptic and magic meant that second might be true due to archives being destroyed but tales surviving meant that everyone thought they are true. Or like misinterpreted as well. Maybe if “believing so much that it became true” magic exists).

But if you don’t find the notion of a Meta-Christ infused crusader fighting side by side with a Muslim alchemist and their magical homunculi while being supported and bolstered by the finest and most fearless of Ethiopian snd Abyssinian soldiery against the invading armies of Hell, to be absolute cinema, we can’t be friends.

In the Iron Wall, the Sultanate was shock to see some Giants, animals hybrid of abominations, the leader of the hybrid enter in the minds of the Lion of Jabil and tell them they are abominations against God and they must fight the God that try to kill them, the Nephilim Leader tell to the Lion of Jabil about theyre ancient history and the Lion of Jabil joined in the ranks of the Damned, they go to the alchemist to teach them the secret of magic because they want to know it, the alchemist get suspesion that the Homunculi they made gain to much intelligent but they didn't care, except they get proud that they're creation gain intelligence and the alchemist shares the secret knowledge and from this, they secretly share it to the Forces of Hell and the force of Hell is prepared to destroy the Sultanate, they ammased they're armies and the servants of Allah defended the Iron Wall but theyre attack are useless again the forces of the Damned, and they are losing, but in they're faith, they win but some part of the wall was captured by the force of Shaitan and they realize that Azazel control the Lion of Jabil and they murdered these Homunculi but many of them escape from they're Doomed and totally intergrated to the Ranks known as the "Sons of the Watchers".
discovered Trench Crusade and im getting this VERY old 40k vibe of wanting to just... EAT LORE
Nice. United Africa. Now to make the Zulu and Maasai because if the Ethiopians look that good, those two tribal armies would be amazing.
He didn't say it was united tho. He said that they got Nubia (Sudan), Numidia and Abyssinia (Ethiopia). So its just East Africa
@@maozedong8901there is also Mali, west Africa is gonna be lit af
@@maozedong8901Not quite just East Africa, Numidia would include coastal North Africa
I don’t think they’ll expand too far south because historically Ethiopia would always conquer north and east rather than south.
@@masonarmand8988no Mali isn’t even a Christian nation and it literally makes no sense for a a stretch across the Sahara
Ethiopia putting in the work, Mammon gotta run
I hope they'll have an Armenian faction given they are the oldest Christian nation alive today.
Interesting fact: that title is, in fact, contended between the Aksium Kingdom and the Arminia Kingdom, because depending on which date is true, either one or the other converted first.
Well, consider that main setting is around Antioch and Anatolia region, at least the surviving humans.
Probably would be a lot closer than expected.
Not sure what happened to Byzantine since the game timeline started around first and second, so they would be kicking around without the Fourth Crusade.
@@giacomoromano8842 If I remember correctly oldest church ruins exist in what was formerly Armenian land and they were dated to the second century.

I was seriously curious about non european/middle eastern factions in trench crusade, so now that i know they exist, im dying for a look at the world map!
I was half-expecting neo-Jesus would show up in the lore.
Can’t wait for more factions!
Now give us faction from macca please 🥺🥺

Nah, the Sultanate Faction are just united and the Sultanate faction are composed by all Muslims Nations, just a Corp or something, that will be nice.
So Egypt fell to the devils…. So looks like I gotta play heretics now.
you've always wanted to invade ethiopia since the time of the pharoes and ismael pasha. kinda puts you as the perps/
I really hope they put an Orthodox Christianity faction in there. Especially a Syrian or Malankara orthodox one. I don't see much representation of them in games
nice
Anyone who falls on the way to the shrine was a heretic. How convenient
It could be so. Demons lamented from fear when they saw Jesus
Don't worry. The guys who worship the other celestial force of mutation and madness are the good guys. Trust
A new faction yay
My sword is yours Cpt Thundas
Finally and oh shit Mali exists too?
Mansa Musa might as well be the Prince of Greed, no insult intended.
I want these armies!! 😊
An interesting fact is that the Brazilian empire throughout history has always walked hand in hand with the Catholic Church of its country and the Vatican and here there are several saints like Irmã Dulce And Our Nossa senhora Aparecida She is the patron saint of Brazil
From what I understand colonialism never really took off due to the whole "hell on earth" problem. Apparently there was some level of Columbian exchange though. I'm pretty sure if Columbus had rocked up to the Americas as the herald of the apocalypse instead of a gold digging dickhead things would have gone very differently. Following from that something like a blended Iberian Tercio with Aztec mercenaries would be pretty dope.
@sicksock435446 Hearing this makes me a little sad to know that in this universe there probably wasn't any contact between different peoples and the Lusitanians, consequently not creating the Lusosphere.
@@Rasputin-zp3pg Sounds like a severe case of nationalism you have going on here
@@bfedezl2018That's a good thing. Nationalism is extremely important for any functioning society.
now all we need is a book of mormon type faction of christian native americans lmao
Since colonialism didn't take off it would be pretty cool to see native american troops as auxiliaries, coming over to stop the apocalypse.
Man this is a based faction. Outstanding art too 😃
Would love to see Christian and Muslim forces going across the indian ocean, pacific and atlantic warming other people, nations, tribes, clan and such about what's going on. It would make a lot of sense to do so. Since the whole planet is at risk.
I’m sorry.
Oh yes, im buying them when they release
Where is all this lore drops coming from I’ve been looking for official stuff.
tellin me "together, together" is the best war cry they could come up with lmao
Makes sense Mamon would go after Africa since he’s the sin of greed. I wonder if Germany will confront with machinery might while Russia will use heavy infantry. I also wonder if even the legion of the underworld could push through the tundra of Russia. I wonder also how Asia will react to hells incursion.
I could imagine the Demons taking advantage if the court intrigue of China to take it over while the Mongols raid from the north and the Japanese Empire invades via Korea.
So is this a new faction or are they a special New Antioch Warband?
The official account on IG told me it was a New Antioch subfaction
I think most faithful factions will be Antioch or pilgrim sub factions

It would be interesting how Asia and the American continents do in Trench Crusade.
Why would they be in here
@@geekyboy6875 many european empires had colonies in the Americas and Asia (the Philipines, Vietnam, China's Heavenly Kingdom, Japan and Korea).

@@Falsafadantafa That's true. But Ethiopia is the name that has historically been used by Ethiopians.
