Your video content have been very helpful to someone like me contemplating to settle back to Phil in the future after been living in CA for 35 years. CA is NOT a golden state anymore. Thank you.
To my knowledge, you are the first on TH-cam to provide such in depth info on the topic.Other channels will tell you a great way to ship is going the balikbayan box route , but that's about it. Thanks for demystifying the process !!
We live on the East Coast of the US and we use UMAC to ship our balikbayan boxes. We have been using UMAC since 2017, have shipped many balikbayan boxes to the Philippines and have never had any boxes opened in transit so nothing has been missing. For a Jumbo box cost from the East Coast to Manila is $110.00 that includes pick up and delivery anywhere in the Metro area, probably any where in the Philippines. We have some family in Northern Negros that we ship to and the price is still $110.00. Shipping time is 60 to 90 days. We will be returning to the Philippines mid September, we shipped a box to my sister in laws full of extra clothes and large size toiletries that we couldn't fly with so all we will bringing with us is carry on bags only.
Useful video. Basically, you're telling us that we need to leave most of our stuff in the US and buy local. That's reasonable. Only stuff you can't buy in the Philippines (i.e., stuff with sentimental value) is worth shipping.
I just recently found your channel and I have to say it's nice to find a channel with content that's not widely covered by other channels. I have been looking for away to ship from the U.S. to the Philippines for about a year now. What would you say would be the best company to ship from St. Louis Missouri to Davao? One other question have you ever heard or have you shipped from the Philippines back to the U.S. I'll be there in October and was thinking of going on a shopping spree and shipping it back. Thank you Randy R
I want to thank you for your list of shippers of boxes, you are one of the few that actually listed who or where you can ship from. My problem is I have watched video after video about shipping to the Philippines but none of them ever show the customs form you have to fill out or what actually is required to be written on it. Can you help explain this to me please.
This is by FAR the most helpful video I've found on shipping to the Philippines! Thank you! I have a dear long time Filipino friend, and would really love to ship her (and her extended family) a Christmas box this year. That said, I'm not Filipino, but native to the United States, now living in Oregon. Is it possible for me to ship something to her using this method, and if so, are packages delivered to the house? She's in San Fabian, and I'm near Portland or Salem, OR. I'm not clear if this is ONLY for expats, but I'm guessing maybe so. If that's the case, how would you suggest shipping to them? (And you could you please also clarify whether Amazon will deliver things ordered in the US to Filipino addresses)? Thank you very much! I spoke with a woman in the airport who suggested LBC, but we both had to run before we got through the conversation. Looks like a great channel! Appreciate your super informative, kind videos!
OMG! Ok, I'll start from the beginning. I'm researching moving to the Philippines from Guatemala (I moved here from Florida 6 years ago) and I've been consuming videos like crazy. I know I can't bring all my stuff there but wanted to bring some specialized tools. I was literally thinking about it while scrolling through youtube when this video popped up! Thanks for the great information!
We shop with local guy Brian Paro from Indiana. He picks up at our house in Ohio and forwards them to Makati Express. We pay less than $100 per box to Visayas.
I used LBC out of Elk Grove IL several times and I never had any issues.....My brother just sent Me a large envelope of docs for just $11 from Chi to Manila in 6 days
For me I’m happy that to buy things through Amazon now that it’s easier to go through. I’m not sure what sales taxes there are but I’m used to no taxes in Oregon
Really appreciate all your valuable information. Have you had any experience in shipping a 20ft or 40ft container? Was hoping to see a video on that. Either shipping my vehicle or just lots of bulky personal items that will be too big to ship individually. (arcades/collectible statues)
Great video mate but what about larger items such as a motorcycle? Is this possible and what’s the best way to do this and also the approximate cost as I live in Australia and plan on moving to the Philippines 🇵🇭 thanks in advance 👍🏻
Thank you for this. I don't fall into any of the 3 categories to ship Balikbayan boxes. How can I ship "regular" boxes (via UPS/FedEx etc)? What is the dreaded "Customs" process and what does it cost?
Because I'm worried that there's wrong house no indicated on itbeforeis 4033 but now my new house no. Is1140please check it when thepackagesarrive and replace a house number with 1140 and not 4033thank you.. 6:01
Can you please advise what company can I use if I have to ship my personal items by container that is reliable? Although I agree with some of the comments here to pack light, but I’m planning to retire in the Philippines. And I’ve accumulated so many precious items (with sentimental values) from my travels that It’s hard to sell or donate. Besides, maybe furnitures are not worth shipping but I realized that I can’t start from scratch to buy new items again. Last time when I went home, furnishing a new house is not cheap! I’m not even thinking about bringing electronics either because it’s hard to use items from the States and use it there due to the power voltage 110 vs 120. So not that. Thanks much!
Bro, thank you for this video. Do you have a video about Shipping via sea and about shipping tons of products from Canada to Ph? I'm trying to bring some US / Canadian products to the Philippines and sell it here. Thanks
Thanks for the video. However, I am having a very difficult time locating any locations near South Carolina. Also, the branch locator found on the website produces nothing. I even called their customer service to no avail. Are they only on the West Coast?
For a new expat, where do you ship Balikbayan boxes to if you don't know anyone in the PH or have an address to ship to? Is there a receiving company that will receive and store the boxes until you get there?
I just shipped a package with UPS yes expensive. In Kansas City where I'm from the atlas shipping charged $125.00 and would take 2 months by sea and have no option to send by air
Please provide us with 1, What is the cheapest company to buy airplane tickets from the USA to Manila, Philippines 2, Please recommend 4-5 star hotels in GBC Thanks
Shangrila at The Fort and The Hyatt. There is also SEDA Hotel owned and operated by Ayala. There’s a hotel called F1 but I don’t think it can qualify as 4- or 5-star.
Hi Sir. Just asking what if my boyfriend from Singapore is want to send the actual document of Affidavit of support here in Philippines is it possible that i will get that within 1 week and what logistics company you recommend for documents. Thank you 😊 hope you notice me
Savvy Expat, create a vlog how to ship car to the Philippines, what companies, what documents going out of US, what documents going into Philippines, any restrictions, how to get out car out of customs, do we register the car before arriving in the Philippines, do we register once car is received and grace period to drive out of customs and around Philippines
I live here in the philippines and i have some items that i want to order in the u.s.. is lbc have a us warehouse that i can temporarily ship all my ordered items in the us and to ship here in the philippiens?
The "move stuff" issue very dire for me. I have a lot of specialized stuff, purpose built computers and so on. It's stuff I have no hope to find and buy in Philippines. How do I move *that* ? Even worse, I am in Europe, not in the US.
Every traveller going to the Philippines is entitled to 2 check-in luggages 23 kg each for free. It could be suitcase or box. If your stuff will fit into a regular box, you can check it in. It will arrive with you. Just make sure it’s not over 23 kg. I’ve seen people checking in boxes instead of suitcases. Make sure to secure it with tape that’s strong enough. Also check first with the airline company if they still allow it. Good luck!
If people have a Umac or atlas near them use them don’t use LBC your stuff will be missing I have shipped over 50 boxes and don’t ship items that you can get here waste of money
It is unfortunate that you used LBC . LBC is the worst cargo agency Ever ! I sent 3 boxes to the Philippines with mostly food for my poor family, and almost half of the box was missing /stolen ! My family and friends will not use this shipping agency AGAIN !!!! I'm sending Bad karma to those thieves in the shipping industry /Customs TAKING/ STEALING FROM BALIKBAYAN BOXES"!! SHAME ON YOU THIEVES BAD KARMA WILL FIND YOU SOONER NOT LATER . THERE ARE ALWAYS CONSEQUENCES TO YOUR ACTIONS !!
Apologies for audio Savvy Expats, apparently the mic wasn't functioning properly in this one!

Take heed the advice he mentioned about valuable items, I've seen quite a few videos in which guys talk about pilfering from there boxes.
Indiana Balikbayan Box has pickups in the midwest also.
I have shipped with Makati Express for the past 2 years and also Global cargo.
I just picked up 15 boxes for my move in May.
Great information!
