2001 Chevy Tahoe security light problem

- I just recently bought this truck it drives around but the light stays on do you know to fix this ? There’s also some kind of weird wiring going on can you please explain it thank you very much

ever figure this out? does the security light ever drain your battery? I think mine only comes on when the truck is off il have to pay attention next time i put my battery back in.
How do you stop it for none stop dinging
I have a Chevy Silverado 2001 It still has the security light on but mine but the truck when I turn it on it turns off right away. Can someone help me, please?
Reset the security, unplug the battery for 15 mins and try again
🔴 My 01 does the same, it cranks but won't start. None of the lights come on except security and battery.

Stock security will lock out fuel rails/fuel pump. Wait 10-15 mins and dont touch anything and it will start. Its annoying asf.
mine just started doing that today ,,, light stays on constantly but the truck runs ..i went out to plow snow and got concerned about that light staying on ,, looks like im gonna have to unhook the battery to make the light go off ,,,,,,ive had 3 of these trucks and they all did the same thing at one time or another ,,except the other two wouldnt start ...at least this one still runs for now but im afraid to take it anywhere ,, its just my old plow truck not like i need it ,but ...

@@Detach_Seek_Refine yes believe it ot not ,,, under the hood is a fuse box ,,, guy told me his just did that and his headlights and interior light wouldnt work ,,, so he showed me a #10 fuse yellow i think ,, replaced it and everything started working again

yes i got it #10 fuse ,,headlight fuse i think it was
Mine is off when it’s running but stays on when it’s off kills the battery we just replaced a lot of the engine and this wasn’t a problem til we got it back together, along with a couple other problems we are stumped because all the videos we find we did everything and none of it worked. Any ideas???
Theres a connector for the key tumbler. They need to be taken out of the clip squeezed a tad and then shoved back into the connector so it has a tights connection when plugged in. There’s a video on TH-cam for it

You have to bypass your anti-theft system 2 ignition wires with a resistor had the same problem it was a pain in the ass mine would shut off and i had to wait 10 mins!take off steering wheel cover and you will find the ignition wires by the key tumbler amazon sells the resistors late reply but hope it helps others

My best guess is it had a autostart on in in a previous life before you had it and then it got taken off now you have this
Mines having the same issue it will just flash but it still starts and run fine but the light flashing is killing my battery
Did you find any help with the issue?. My yukon does the same thing... Very frustrating
Turn the key to run hit the lock button and the light goes away just done it works perfect

@@robertwilliams7182I ended up doing that and all my gauges went back to normal but hopefully it stays that way.
May get a Chilton book or go to library and look into one of there books in auto repair and see wiring diagram... or go to junk yard and look at similar vehicle... thank for your video

But honestly, it could be that someone had a killswitch or an aftermarket alarm before. They might have removed it and re connected the wires back wrong.

LSX_ Devan Thanks.. I’ve just learned to except it. I got a key fab so the truck locks and unlocks now, but that light stays on when I drive around town 🤣 F#kiT.. lol
What you have there is someone who had that truck before you got tired of the security not cranking up the truck so they bypass the security so they can continue to crank up the truck when they want to.. I'm going to do mine the same way because I am tired of the GMC bulshit security

You are 100% correct, my truck got stolen and I never had this problem before it was stolen, but after I found it, I started experiencing such problems
Just delete vats with hp tuners or look for someone that can delete it of the ecm
Turn auto lock off through the radio

I have the same issue and have read it might be the bcm
Ely Russell I’m not sure if that’s the problem I have bought the key fab my doors unlocked and locked now I have no problem with the alarm going off at night.. The only problem I have when I’m driving around the security light stays on
Ely russle did you end uo taking the chime out of the bcm? Our big issue is that chime continuously goes off
Try turning your key to run and press your lock switch it takes the alarm off on mine

Mine does it it but goes away after awhile the computer thinks a door is still unlocked
There is another video where those nasty things are avoided by removing the yellow wire from the plug on top of the ign switch. This looks like a low buck lobotomy done via the butt hole. Hope you have some luck straightening it out

Dude you got a vehicle that was once stolen or they bypasses the gps i would leave it alone
Its a sensor in the fuse box that you need to replace
