what! no Elvis and what a few black artists said about Elvis? what about his love for luring 14 year old girls into his bed? what about his abuse of women? time to call mommy again is it?
@@Indigo2400 why? is my comment too intellectual for you to understand? No I don't sit in my mothers basement, I am unlike you. Leave the big stuff to the big boys, LITTLE BOY!
My Mom said when she went to the theater to see Jailhouse Rock that when this part came on,a lot of the girls there started dancing in the theater aisles. I can't imagine this happening at a movie today.
One of the things that made Elvis special is that he was a star to two generations not just one. He was a star to the people that grew up with his music, but when he died in 1977 his music and movies became popular again and he became a start to a brand new generation. I'm in my mid 50s and therefore was not born when the song came out, but after his death Jailhouse Rock became one of the first 45s that I bought. p.s. When I say his music and movies became popular again after his death, it is actually an understatement, I have never seen anything like it since. Part of the reason is that TV and record players were still in their infancies, so radio and TV stations were saturated with his music and movies. For some perspective, we only had 4 or 5 TV channels where we lived, and many of the shows we watched were black and white which was fine since my family did not get a color TV until the early 80s.
Yeah, same here in a far off Country on the other side of the world, South Africa! When Elvis died in 1977 his vintage records hit the shelves again and he was introduced to a younger generation. The radio stations were playing his records and he was on tv programs. This man is truly the superstar singer and entertainer of the world! He will never be forgotten!⚡🎤🎶🌍🇿🇦
I adore your Elvis reactions.. he was so charismatic and with the looks and the voice… who could’ve resisted him?! If you would like another video worth watching, try his funny clips. The guy had an amazing and endearing sense of humour ❤ or go for Hurt (1977), about 8 weeks before he passed 😢 He was ill but his voice… unwavering
I love you two. Elvis is amazing. This is a movie in Elvis' early filmography that is just amazing. Prior to Blue Hawaii, the movies Elvis made were intense and showed the kind of acting chops he had if he were given the chance. Which sadly, as his movie career progressed, he didn't get the opportunity. But I would say his first six films are just amazing and showed what kind of a talent he was.
Thanks for your great reaction. You get into detail and you are spot on. They use to call his smile "the sneer" . They also said he had bedroom eyes. Girls actually screamed during this movie right in the theater. Saw him in person twice and their was an aura about him. I treasure that I was alive during his career. Be Blessed
Elvis Presley - Jailhouse Rock. So much power and energy! Another great Elvis song. Elvis Presley - That´s All Right Mama. (1954) Thanks for Elvis reactions! 🎸🎤
It is amazing to me how much influence he actually had in his day. I still remember exactly where I was when it was announced that Elvis had passed away. There are very few people that will have that affect on you in your lifetime. Elvis was most definitely one of them. It is a shame that his story is getting bashed so frequently today, by people who generally have no idea who he really was or how people in his era actually looked up to him. Elvis was THE MAN! Great reaction, I have been enjoying your content lately, please keep making these videos, they are well done and appreciated.
One of my favorites because my mom is a huge Elvis fan so I grew up on the music and movies and since Elvis is a fellow mixed native that grew up in the ghetto I always felt a connection
I love...love...love this song; it is PHENOMENOL!!! And, he was so young! He has the leg movements jumping, right! He was so very cute, too! He really did bring about a totally NEW style of dance and he had such a new, different sound! He was FANTASTIC! He was ELVIS and there will NEVER be another that even comes close to his class, originality, and just plain SPECTACULAR talent! In my opinion, he was, still is, and always will be the most talented entertainer that has ever lived! By the way, there is a video of this that is a little better quality! You have very quickly become my favorite reactors! I love your reactions and look for you when scrolling ( which is 10 times a day ). lol Thank you for this! I actually had requested it months ago! You made my day! Thanks again.
Now you guys must see the complete ‘68 Elvis comeback special to really see how far he was ahead of his time even then. Besides the black leather suit stage show , rest of the show has very provocative female and male background dancers during the many different tv show songs. I just watched it the other night and forgot how powerful of a tv show that was for 1968 in this country!
When the choreographer showed Elvis what was planned, for this scene, Elvis said he couldn’t do it. So, the choreographer worked with Elvis to design the dance to use Elvis’s own style. The result- historic! Elvis always claimed he couldn’t dance.

Elvis choreographed it! By the way, he swallowed a cap (filling) during this scene...it ended going into his lung- he ended up needing a surgery during this film...but as you can see- he did great on this production!
This was the first music video and he was the first super star also he is the only artist to sale over a billion records and the 1968 come back special is the first unplugged session ever

You really should check out the actual movie "Jailhouse Rock". It's really good. Kind of a drama, and sad in places, but this was Elvis in the beginning, and it's great!
Lay it in me daddy-o! 😂 we need to bring back expressions from back then like that!! Loved this so much!! I was named Deborah thanks to Elvis's costar Debra Paget in Love Me Tender... Hey guys..great reaction I've seen the movie a few times and every time I see it I find something I missed but toward his end when he says to Priscilla " I'm gonna be 40 soon and nobody will remember me..I've never done anything that's lasting" How wrong he was!! I hope that somehow he knows 💙
Did you know how generous Elvis was the last five years of his life gave over $700000 jewelry to his fans Pearl Harbor was completed because of a concert money towards the memorial there was a place honoring Elvis but later they took it down. Why did it take over twenty years for memorial to be completed thank God for elvis
Jailhouse Rock is a good movie. Judy Tyler, his female co star, was killed driving home after the filming, and supposedly it upset Elvis so much, that he never watched the movie. In the movie,he actually serves a jail sentence. This scene is after he is released and has become a popular singer.
If you get a chance, watch Elvis presley on the ed sullivan show they only showed him from the waist up because parents thought his dancing was from the devil & parents hated it. he almost got arrested for it, that's why he joined the Army
This WAS NOT the first video of all time. THAT was of Ricky Nelson created by his father on the OZZIE & HARRIET (NELSON) SHOW., It was Ricky's first number 1, Poor Little Fool. It was created, produced & directed specifically for television in 1959. This clip of Elvis's movie released & viewed in the theaters on 2957; however, it was not was not shown on television until the early 1960s when the film was shown in its entirety. In the 70s this clip plus several other clips from other films were also shown as 'solos' Jailhouse Rock caught, but it was the version where Elvis was preforming in front of a jail cell set with back up dancers. BUT, Ricky Nelson was the first specific to television music video.
It’s sad that so many young people hardly know about Elvis and his music but if youre trying to find a modern day entertainer to rival him who have you got I suggest there is no one
..."Class of 76"...Michael Jackson said he learned how to choreograph his stage performances to blend with his songs by watching Elvis's performances...The real question now is...will you ever look at your Grandma and Grandpa the same way?
WHY does no one ever catch these lyrics? "Number 47 said to Number 3 - You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see - I sure would be delighted with your company - C'mon and do the jailhouse rock with me" LOL 😆
Thanks for reviewing this! When Elvis became popular and appeared on TV, the censors would not allow Elvis being filmed from the waist down. Maybe vulgar motions and too provocative? Whooo-hoooo! Times have changed. But - but - there ain't been no rock 'n roll since Buddy Holly died! Not Fade Away is a hit.
Watch Elvis's moves then watch Michael Jackson moves there's no doubt in my mind Elvis influenced Michael Jackson's move. Hell Elvis influenced so many solo and bands and his mighty influences are still around even to this day
