Please note, I foolishly refer to the propeller as being made of brass in this video. That’s wrong, it’s made of bronze. My bad!

Thanks for the vid mate but...
    From the CLR website:
Do not use CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover on any natural stone or marble (including cultured marble), terrazzo, colored grout (any other color than white), any painted, coated, sealed or metallic glazed surfaces, plastics, laminates, Formica, Corian, aluminum, galvanized metals, nickel, oil rubbed bronze, brass, copper, steam irons, leaded crystal, refinished tubs or any damaged or cracked surface.
    My comments:
I have an old yacht with lots of brass and bronze portholes, hinges, blocs, and assorted fittings. I've never tried polishing my prop but I polish everything else and find that Diluted white vinegar works pretty much like the CLR does in your video but the citric acid in the vinegar will not harm brass or bronze. To final polish if find that Autosol Metal polish works a treat...
You might give the vinegar bath followed by Autosol a try when you next pull the Gori off its shaft.
    Cheers

Interesting. I'll give the vinegar a shot. What I will say is that I have done the diluted CLR bath for a few years, and my boat neighbour has been doing it for far longer than that with no pitting visible. YMMV.

@@TheAwakeford Thanks for your reply mate.
If you are impatient and don't want to soak your prop overnight or longer, you can also try using powdered citric acid at higher concentrations mixed with water. Basically it's the same as vinegar but you can make it more concentrated. Powdered "Barrkeeper's Friend" contains 5% citric acid and works rapidly with some elbow grease, since they add feldspar to act as an abrasive, so you might be able to leave the prop in place perhaps...
      Happy polishing!
