5k is a realistic price for that boat

Well the boat isn't in to bad a shape for a C&C 35'er ,all older boats need some mtce after sitting for a while. But depending on what you want the boat for cruising, racing ,or ocean going , if its racing you just hit pay dirt , C&C are racing boats and there a canadain made. I know becuse my father had one it was a 27'er and that boat could fly through the water i had it up to 28 knts one time .

Hey guys, I just wanted to say thanks for all the comments and support. I can tell you from my last boat buying experience that you have to be prepared to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince... Since everyone seems to enjoy the boat shopping vid, I'll definitely bring you guys along when I look at the next ones! With that said, I haven't totally given up on this one... Not sure $5K gets it done, but hey you never know! lol.

It's hard to say what is acceptable. The hull itself is likely repairable. The keel state is unknown. The engine condition is a huge question mark. The deck, including new hatches, can likely be repaired and made watertight again. The sails do look well despite mishandling. The standing rigging likely needs replacement. Accept ripping out the entire interior and making it to a modern standard, but it's still a ton of work-as suggested, not worth more than $5k. Cheers.

One good thing about that boat..it has a good looking knives & forks drawer plus everyone needs a lovely light dimmer on a boat hahaha 😅

I have seen this boat in bayfield it’s been sitting for a long time.

$5k cash & carry But seriously, it’s only a 35’ boat. Do you want/need a bigger boat? How quickly can you get the hull/rudder I to shape? Does the engine work? If you can get it to float and move, you could spend time on it. And I do understand you said you wanted a project boat, but could you spend some extra time at work and spend more on a boat that is at least dry? I’m all for preserving old hulls, but the amount of time, work and materials you put into it will never be reflected in anything but your memories. Do you think this is the last boat you will ever own ? Because that is the question we are asking here.

Clearly lots of leaks leading to lots of interior damage. "How big a project do I want?" is a an excellent observation. Is the owner incapacitated? To not even take the sails off the boat and properly fold them, over a number of years, tells me that is illustrative of everything else about the boat. Soon that will be an abandoned boat which would be a pass even for free.

How much is the asking price?

I just subscribed as well to watch your boat project adventure. I am wanting to buy one in about two years and like watching people fix up boats as I guess it will help me have more options when I try to find just the right one for me. Good luck!

We sail out of Wilson and have had the same with the fishing boats. If they are trolling I yield early. We were also out in a field of branches and logs around the same time. Never saw so many. Big ones too. Lots of cattail-like plants and debris too. I assume storm runoff. (I love the old C&C boats. When I sailed out of Youngstown in the 1970's there were C&C's everywhere.)

Does that clutch pop open when the wheel pilot experiences a certain level of force perhaps? Love the videos and very jealous of your boat. I spent the last 3 summers learning to sail on Lake Erie and now trying to convince my wife to buy a boat!

That looks like room 242 at Newport Onshore I own that for week 28 it’s been in my family since the buildings were being built and my aunt and uncle bought it around 1985. It is an excellent family getaway and has been our happy place for a very very long time amidst a very challenging life. We are native Rhode Islanders but it’s a simple escape for us. I hope you enjoyed your stay. come back as often as you can!

I agree with your sail configuration. Trimming and balancing is more interesting than. Dont drop the story or commenting on what you are doing i think that gives a better total picture of the experience. But if you can ... some seaney is nice. I'll check back in with you later. hey brother. I wish you the best of luck, just a small constructive criticism....if you want more appealing successful videos, I would try less stories and shots of yourself and more hands on shots, what you are doing, sails, tasks, problems, sunsets, skies, nature,.... so on. people have short attention spend, we need to rotated are short video shots every few seconds. for example and old school Music video where images changes every second....that is what grabs viewers, means a lot of editing. thanks bro,

Ahoy. Great episode. Nice to see some lake Ontario sailing. Yr brave to winch up spinnaker cuz U knew sheave was messed up. Glad U could pull her down! Nice to have fellow sailors for a tow in but I'm sure U could sail into Whitby with just jib and fuel in as U get near Yr slip. When conditions good is fun practice time to sail in n out of harbour even with engine in neutral for the experience. Sailing on n off the anchor is good practice too. Ya don't always need the motor for this when U have yr experience n comfortable with yr ship like U are. Keep up the great work. Cheers from a fellow solo sailor liveaboard at RHYC.
