If the highest average is 90%, aim for 95%. -Be more creative. -The brightest people are the ones who are laidback and accomplish a lot. -Your work ethic and consistency is the only things that matter. -School comes first. -Narrow the scope of your EC’s and dive deeper into them. For example aiming to excel in 2 clubs and have so much depth in them instead of 5 clubs with little bit of experience is way better. -Water the small plant instead of planting multiple at once. -Build something with the people you’re in competition with! -If there’s no leadership in your club, start your own and go all in!!! -Don’t go and chase the small shiny things. Trust yourself! For the people who still watched… -Stop complaining. You chose to go to this competitive high school! It’s not an excuse to not get into your dream school! -Don’t focus on what is not in your control. -Areas that are more competitive actually have the most opportunities. -Figure out what you want to do exactly earlier on in high school! Advice from ME: -Take care of your mental health! And physical health! Don’t let academics ruin your self worth. It’s not “cool” to act as if the only thing that is important is where you end up. THERE ARE ALWAYS BACK UPS AND SECOND OPTIONS. -Do not compare yourself to anyone! You’re on a different path. Stop trying to cut pathways into someone else’s, because you’ll end up being lost and confused with yourself and your choices. -It’s okay to not get into a T50. Also remember if you can afford it or not. Start thinking of these things early… if you have questions for ME then I will respond. Otherwise I hope these notes were helpful. I needed this vid, I’m a rising freshmen at one of the most competitive private high schools in the US. Honestly I know my school is going to be full of sweaty kids so I know that doing good isn’t going to cut it.

Opposite thing happens at our school: there is barely competition in terms of awards. It may be academically competitive, but the school has 0 people doing non-profits or even for-profits. Our school is just too small and barely offers AP classes (but it does offer dual-credits).

lol yeah you basically a average 3-4 hours of sleep per day starting sophomore year if you’re trying to get into an ivy. Dual enrolled, crazy EC’s, SAT prep. but you’re going to be doing that all over again when you’re at the Ivy. That’s why they accept students like that, because to be that good you must be willing to lose aspects of your life, which will be beneficial to continue to work for the system of our world.

I am a junior and right now with ECs, I have HOSA which i need to compete and apply for officer positions, NHS- i want to get on the ex council, some reward thing i got for service which im not going to use, volunteer at an animal shelter for 3 years, FMSC for 4 years, and a hospital internship thingy this summer This aint even enough and i want to start my own club for running bc my school only offers extracirrcular clubs (so far) and cross-country/track are electives Also i want to do a comm service project for science tutoring and a recycling/compost thing But im sooo lostttt what do i do right now, i literally took 9th and 10th for granted Also, i genuinely love volunteering at SPCA and FMSC, but what else is there to do
