Aloha I lived in The Hilo/Puna districts from mid 80's to 2005. Some of the people featured in this program I've had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with at various events. Before I left Hawaii, I produced, video taped & edited an Arts program, which aired on local cable TV in Hilo. I worked out of the East Hawaii Cultural Center across from King Kalakawa Park. I also knew Henry Bianchini, the sculptor of the King's statue and his daughter, Allegra, who was one of my students at Waikea High School. So cool to see again how life/people/nature was like on the Big Island in the 80's.I'll always have amazing and fond memories of my life there. I love and miss Hawaii. Aloha Nui Loa.

I took classes from Linus Chao back in 1982 at Hawaii Community College. I gained so much inspiration from him, not only in artistic skills, but from his philosophical approach. He was amazingly fast too.
