    good 👍 video
my house has no wooden architrave around the windows

Thanks for the kind comment 😃 it definitely is a pain. You can buy some seriously strong plaster mates these days that help a lot with that problem. I learned the hard way that after you have inserted the plaster mate you are best to just use a screw driver, rather than a drill. But we live and we learn, right? 🤷‍♀️😁

That’s the wrong way round 😊, unless it specifies otherwise (I accept it may in your case) the fabric of the blind once unfurled should be closest to the window to minimise light coming through.

Thanks for the feedback. In this case, it is a block out blind and the fabric is only on one side of the blind. if it was hung the other way around you would see the white rubber backing. I think you will find that most blinds are actually meant to hang this way, eventhough it is not logically the best way to reduce light. At least in Australia anyway! I have another video where I hand ceiling to floor curtains with blinds behind and they are hung the way you mention in order to reduce light :)

@@Diyladytradie As mentioned by Nine Inches you can take the roll down and roll the blind material the opposite way without seeing the withe rubber.

Sorry to be a pain but you really should have stopped recording the video and removed that power drill away from your toddler as it is not a toy and can cause an injury. Otherwise an interesting video.

You are not a pain at all. There was also someone else (off camera) supervising him who removed the battery from the drill, hence why I was not concerned.
Thank you for your concern 😊

@@Diyladytradie Point taken on board and l know what a handful they can be at that age. I to have just bought the Rylee duel day/night roller blind from Spotlight, reduced from $300 down to $100. Can't install it myself as l don't own a power drill or drill bits. I'm having to hire a handyman/woman to install it for me, with most of them wanting to charge about $150 which l find outrageous for what it entails. So your doing people a valuable service in producing these videos so they can perhaps do it themselves and save a bit of money. Keep up the good work. The last quote l received from a building company was for $330 to install 2 blinds. Can you believe that? Maybe you could go into business for yourself and make a small fortune, if the demand was their.

@@rexmcleod5479 Thanks for you reply. I do appreciate the feedback. My goal is for people to save $$ and not get ripped off. May I suggest that you could still do this if you get yourself some wall mates (plastic screw shaped bits) that you can push into the wall by hand and gentry screw in, then using just a regular screw driver, you can screw the screws which came with the blind directly into the wall mate and hopefully there will be no need for a drill or drill bits. Here is a link to the wall mates I use from Bunnings - www.bunnings.com.au/ramset-nylon-wallmate-anchors-20-pack_p2260083
You can see that they have a pointy tip which pushes into the plaster then you gently screw them in before putting up the blind and using the metal screws. I hope that helps.

@@Diyladytradie Thank you for the advice on the usage of the wall mate's, when all you have is some manual screwdrivers at your disposal. The blinds installation certainly looks possible using the wall mate's as you have suggested, however l have hired a local handyman on a reasonably priced hourly rate to do the job as l also need another small job done at my premises at the same time. Your advice can help others like myself as well, so thank you and season's greetings.
