Hi John, I want to thank you for that thorough explanation of ozone generators, especially the information about our Aqua-Series ozone generators and how they are not appropriate for a cold plunge tub. We have seen very, very few people who have had success with those. The pumps cannot withstand that much pressure from the deep water. It is like clockwork, around 6 to 8 months, they will come in for warranty repair. We were servicing those as if they were under warranty as a courtesy, but we no longer offer that. We do tell our customers on the website and when asked that the Aqua-Series is intended for household use, and we want our customers to have success with their cold plunge set-ups. Ok here is what I don't understand. If the cheap ozone machine can only go 4 inches down in the water, why not just put it 4 inches down in the water, have the water circulating a bit, and leave it on longer. This expensive one, you're only leaving on for 30 minutes each day anyway. These cheaper ones also put out way more ozone so if you have the top down, the ozone should also build up in the air inside the tub and absorb back into the water?
Depth is one problem. They are also not designed to run for the significantly longer time it would take turn turn over all of your water to the 4" above the airstone.

My chest freezer cold plunge has an aluminum liner. Will using an ozone generator have any adverse effects with the aluminum? I read online that it may discolor the aluminum and I am fine with that. As long as there’s nothing else super crazy that will happen. Thanks in advance
You have a larger problem than ozone to worry about. Impurities in the aluminum can react with water and corrode. If you want your chest freezer to last long term, install one of the recommended liners. See this article: chestfreezercoldplunge.com/4-liners/ In the air, ozone can discolor aluminum. Under water, it can seriously degrade / weaken it. All of the liner option I recommend are compatible with ozone and other sanitation methods.
Is it possible for the ozone generator that have A T coupling So you can put it in 2 tubs at the same time 177 gallons each The same generator you're using on the side of your ice Box
Possible but definitely not recommended. 1. The pump is not designed to send enough ozone through additional tubing and the split may not be equal. 2. If the airstone in one tub gets clogged up, it will create a pressure differential that could damage the pump. The best practice is to have one ozone generator per tub/tank.
@@markstewart3551 - yes, if you don't mind moving it each day, that would be fine. Keep in mind that starting up a motor is when most of the wear happens, so that will reduce the effective life of the pump motor. It's impossible to predict by how much.
@John Richter - Chest Freezer Cold Plunge Well I do it when one is finished I can put it right into the other without turning that pump off so So it will all happen with one runn the pump I hope
Been using one of the “kitchen” ozonators for months and its worked great. $69 and has a timer i can turn it on for 1 hr everyday. I just turn it on every time i go outside and havent had any issues. I bought the jed 203 based on this video and it performed much worse. Maybe i got a lemon. But I returned it and went back to the cheap “kitchen” unit and its still going strong
What you're saying doesn't match my experience with hundreds of people over the years. The pump will burn out on that kitchen unit. The companies that make them say they are unsuitable for cold plunges. If the JED wasn't working, it is very likely it wasn't set up correctly. Every single one I have sold since 2018 has worked great when it is set up correctly. When you buy a JED from a company that doesn't know how to set them up with a cold plunge, there are likely to be issues.
@@JohnRichterAustin I believe you. And your videos were really helpful. Not calling you out or anything. Just stating my experience. I set the jed up correctly, its not difficult. I use a venturi setup for both units. Im sure the kitchen unit will burn out but who cares if it lasts a year for $69? The jed 203 is almost $300. Just my experience!
@user-kv3iy9ds4m - thanks for clarifying. The JED 203 is not meant to be used with a venturi. $270 for a device that is proven to work is a better investment than $60 for a device the manufacturer's tell us is not working. What is at rick is your health. If you plan to keep using that kitchen ozone generator, it would be a good idea to add a secondary form of sanitation- either H2O2 or chlorine.
And also I'm getting the Penguin cold water chiller with pump inside stainless steel unit for cold therapy And if you have a discount for that how do I go through you to buy that you know
Ozone sanitizers for water are perfectly safe WHEN USED CORRECTLY. They should only be used outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. A very few number of people are super sensitive to ozone, and others have asthma. In those cases ozone should not be used. I would not run it indoors with children.

You have a larger problem than ozone to worry about. Impurities in the aluminum can react with water and corrode. If you want your chest freezer to last long term, install one of the recommended liners. See this article:
chestfreezercoldplunge.com/4-liners/
In the air, ozone can discolor aluminum.
Did you would just be hanging Freely so I can take it from one tub to the other
@@markstewart3551 - yes, if you don't mind moving it each day, that would be fine.
@@markstewart3551 - definitely do NOT do that! Breathing ozone can harm your lung tissue and throat. It is not worth the risk.
I punched the JED 103 and doesn't seem like it is working I am very new to this so be easy on me.
For what kind of cold plunge?
The 103 is meant for large hot tubs and requires a venturi injector and bypass assembly along with a pump and filter.
And also I'm getting the Penguin cold water chiller with pump inside stainless steel unit for cold therapy And if you have a discount for that how do I go through you to buy that you know
Im hearinf Ozone purifiers are not safe. I have children and my chest freezer is inside my home (garage). Is it safe for me to use the JED 203
Hi
I applied to become a member of your Facebook group some time ago but have not heard back. Can you tell me how much H. Peroxide to add to a 300 L cold plunge. I have a powerful pump ( don't know if that makes a difference) but when I add HP it seems to dissipate quite quickly. Pump is a Hozelock Aquaforce 4000 Pump.
We approve proper requests 6 days a week.
Please re-apply, give legit answers to both questions, and agree to the group rules.
The H2O2 calculator is in the files section of the group.
Thanks for the recommendation. Where can I get your email?
The best way to reach me is to fill out the contact form on my website which is linked in the video description
