    Excellent! This is exactly what I envisioned would be needed to prevent issues with high RVP mogas. @EvanBrunye and I discussed this exact design many months ago. Glad to see his idea being developed for the market!

      Actually the original inspiration came from a TSi builder in Utah 3 years ago when we were doing his install.

      @@MidwestPanels Oh wow. Yeah, it’s entirely possible for two different people working on the same problem to independently converge on the same solution. I know Evan and Henry spoke about the idea. In any case, I’m glad to see the idea coming to fruition!

      @OneAlphaMike have you experienced any issues with your plane? Perhaps you should make a video about this. I am based in LA and take off from Van Nuys where summer temperatures reach 100 degrees during summer days. I was completely oblivious to this issue. It appears that 100LL solves this issue.

      @@tsilikasp Yeah, I had an issue once. The problem is not with Rotax or Sling, the problem is lousy high RVP mogas. The most common issue is winter blend fuel being sold past when it's supposed to be in the spring. I might do a video about it, but in the meantime, there's a good video on the subject here: th-cam.com/video/aKVyA7ROQ6A/w-d-xo.html

    You guys clearly have some clever people working there. Great videos and cool ideas!

    Hello guys I’m just big Sling fan and an A&P mechanic hoping to get in a Sling some day. Love watching the very informative videos you guys put out. Great to see the collaboration on a very important issue that needs to be resolved.

    Ok. - this is VERY cool! Looks like it's very well developed and thought trough. I'll definitely be stopping by to find out more next week...

    Are you using Facet pumps for the tank pumps?

    This is super Adam. I've been noticing, in this heat, my fuel PSI sitting at the bottom of 42 and often going below into the yellow range. Very unnerving.
    Plus I'd love to be able to move to Mogas with no fear.
    You expect it to be retrofittable?

    • @MidwestPanels
      @MidwestPanels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, with a little bit of work it can be installed.

    Adam, can I buy the sensor assembly? I don't have a sling or need help with the interface part, but being able to have a remote indication of my fuel system would be handy for my application.

    I’ve heard of this being an issue, but it’s hard for me to understand what the problem is as I have thoroughly tested my Rotax 915 using mogas and avgas in the winter, and summer. Even at 25,000 feet with the aux fuel pump off I was getting 53 psi. My Rans is a highwing and maybe that puts less stress on the system. That’s about the only thing I can make of it.

    • @MidwestPanels
      @MidwestPanels  ปีที่แล้ว

      You are correct, since you have a high wing, gravity is on your side.

    Any space claim issues for those of us who are using pumps to transfer fuel from the long-range tanks into the main tanks? They are mounted in the wing root area.

    • @MidwestPanels
      @MidwestPanels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Shouldn’t be, will depend on how you are currently mounted. We are taking into account the transfer pump.

    Would this be a potential problem in any LSA with a Rotax using MOGAS with ethanol? I have a Bristell and have avoided 100 LL completely and bring fuel in with (unfortunately) ethanol.

    • @MidwestPanels
      @MidwestPanels  ปีที่แล้ว

      It could potentially be an issue due to where pumps are mounted and differs with each design. If you suffer from vapor lock than this could help.

      @@MidwestPanels I've never experienced it... I also don't want to experience it. Is this a common issue with the just Bushcat then? My tanks are vented. Wouldn't that prevent vapor lock?
