Wow Harrison, you went WAY out there for this one! Good man! The wife approves your Tim Horton's fanaticism, she says "Try the tea biscuits!" She can't get enough of those! Here's an interesting fact about the Arcade & Attica, when they started up in the early 1960s and chose orange and black as their colors they became known as the "Halloween Central" to railfans! An interesting and well-done chase of the WNY&P freight! And they're unloading the AC6000's? Not too surprising, those 6000 HP units have turned out to be too much locomotive for a lot of 'roads. I've also read that considering their length if they're run on less-than-perfect trackage the fuel tanks have a habit of bottoming out on the rails. Anyway, a fun video as always, and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours Harrison!
@@trainencounters586 What 😂😂😂 schoolhouse road where? I have no recollection of this Never mind I figured you mean in Carrollton. I still don’t remember that though
Sad to see what was an incredible comeback story of a railroad wither away to nothing in my old hometown. If Bush or Monofrax has a decline in business or if even one bridge on that line has structural issues it is very likely Jamestown will be without rail service. 432 is a gem, been providing reliable service on the WNYP since 2003! The 430 came around in '06, I may have been on it's first revenue run out to Olean matched up with the 424. Hard to remember.
Nice video ! Fun fact the Alco C-430 built between 1966' - 1968' and still going strong has doubled the life span of the AC6000 built between 1995 - 2001 which had problems from the start of producing 6000hp. They just don't build them like they used to!
The GE did have problems in the beginning and for a short while only made 4400hp, where one 6000 I can't remember the number had a FDL engine placed under the hood and still has it to this day. Once the main problems were fixed they all went back to 6000 until a few years ago where the whole fleet was derated again for the last time to 4600 hp. this was done while still at CSX. Compared to the SD90MAC the 6000 did run more but the engines were pushed out the door with problems, a good idea just rushed.
Andy Mueller and the reading & northern would have the the upper buffalo line kickin again for sure; just look a what he has done and all he has accomplished just from offering top notch freight service. Does anyone else agree with me? Or am I just talking to a pile of rocks?
Old Air Raid sirens are used for different emergencies nowadays. Many for fire, tornado/hurricane or other emergencies. I wasn’t sure if this one was being used by the RR at a crossing instead of the normal bells or if it was just a coincidence that it was on for some other reason while you were recording.
That's the Kennedy Fire Dept siren. Pretty much all western NY volunteer fire departments still have station mounted sirens that go off once at noon, and continuously when a fire call is activated until a member goes down to the hall and shuts it off.
NCT I got a question... Does wny&p still run to driftwood pa?? I know they don't run 2 meadeville anymore and as a railroad are not doing very good rite now. If my railroad prophecies come true then the reading & northern will acquire the middle and northern portions of the ex pennsy buffalo line; running fast freight in between north reading and buffalo n.y. and switching out in northumberland p.a., lock haven p.a., Olean n.y. along the way. Anybody wanna bet some $$$ on this??? -steeverino
Hey man u may think I'm out there but u didn't answer my question if wnyp still runs 2 driftwood. So u think trains running in between buffalo and reading p.a. giving industries in northumberland, lock haven/ Williamsport p.a., and Olean n.y. direct single train access inbetween reading and buffalo is such a crazy idea????? An intelligent railroad mind might say that that is a SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTION. Get in the game bud, ur sitting on the bench. -steeverino
@@ChristinaLarsen-dk1pe WNYP still has a crew based out of Meadville to serve the handful of customers still there, plus the branch to Oil City (dwindling traffic), and mainline to Saegertown (Lord Chemical Co). They no longer run to Driftwood, only running an Olean based local to the last remaining customer at Port Allegany.
Jfrmr1... Thanks man 4 the info, so the driftwood rumors I've heard are true then. I read bout them not running the Olean-meadeville train anymore on freight waves or one of them railroading news websites. U heard any rumors on what might happen to the wny&p? Excellent Video! Really sad that WNYP is going down hill! By the way the last two AC6000s just left the property this week.

Very interesting. Thank you.
As of a few days ago, ALL AC6000s are off property with the last ones, 6001 and 6005 currently in Buffalo.
Nope, my N scale versions are still hauling WNY&P freight. Tee hee
