I think it encourages people to balance being responsible vs being greedy, which is exactly what we saw here. The Sisay style decks punish things like TnK for over relying on draw engines in stalled games, and decks like Rog and Korvold punish those decks for cutting traditional interaction.
I talk about it more in depth in the last podcast episode while discussing Rog/Si, but the main point is that having access to that effect basically every single game when you need it ends up giving you a ton of value for one land slot. Anytime you want to hold up mana to see if you want to do something on an endstep with your fetch you get the option to have extra card selection.
@@lolx1847 it's still new and getting tested, people are very wary of tapped lands in general. There's also an argument decks like that need the card selection less than faster decks like Rog/Si or Rog/Thras where I've been playing it and loving running one of them.
I want to build a CEDH deck but not exactly sure where to start. Watching this video UBx seemed fun. I do like to play combo decks or Value combo decks like Death's Shadow, Infect, Grishoalbrand (before bans) in modern. Is there something comparable in CEDH. I don't know how any of these decks work other than Oracle combo. The people who play at my LGS told me not to play green that it was the worst color. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
A deck I point to in those colors is often something like Tevesh/Kraum, which is a grixis deck that uses a lot of the main cEDH wincons. Oracle combo, along with Underworld Breach combo are the most popular wincons, though that deck can also win with Hullbreaker Horror by drawing its deck with Tevesh. You could also pick up Tymna/Kraum, it's kind of the main deck of the format. It's four colors, has a little bit more going on with the tutoring and possible gameplans, but is the definitive deck and also namely wins those ways. You can check this video out for some other decks that I'd recommend, and searching those commanders you'll be able to find plenty of content showcasing them: th-cam.com/video/1Z2MAhcUa7E/w-d-xo.html
I think it depends on the direction you want to take the list in. If you're pushing the Necropotence direction it probably lines up poorly, if you're more on the Tymna creature plan it can work well.
Meta probably over corrected to break the midrange slog and left more of an opening for turbo. I'll wait for more results before saying the meta is saved.
Is turbo back? Is cEDH saved? Is making jokes about a Korvold player cheating dumb? Let me know down below!
Don't call it a comeback. We've been here for years.
Alot of spice for this tourney! Def fast. My boy Gaddock Teeg has no chance lol. ❤❤❤
Turbo meta is my least favorite. 4 people gold fishing. Also why not just play Rog Si because it’s the fastest? Least diverse meta for sure

Turbo never left 😎
☠️🔥🌊
Can you explain why you said the surveil lands felt “busted”? I for one can’t fathom running a tapped land especially in a turbo deck like RogSi

@@LemorasCards if so why isn’t the card seeing more inclusion in other even slower decks like T&K? Which also happens to have more fetches for it?

Argivian Find is cool. I ran it in precon league in Ardenn Rog with colossus hammer

@@LemorasCards Will do, thank you!
I think delney is about net neutral. I don’t think it makes the deck better or worse.

Are they on offer for the combo potential? Semi-pseudo brain freeze
That's always a consideration for the card

There does seem to be an interesting thing going on with decks like Sisay preying on the grindy card draw decks and decks like Rog/Si preying on them.
@LemorasCards Ideally that pattern will continue and we'll have a healthy meta again. 🤞 No bans necessary.
Man that mic takes up a lot of green screen space lol
Great video
Thank ya!
