Ideally you should not. Charging past 80%/3.9V is when wear starts to increase rapidly. There are many tests that show an increase of just .1V creates a doubling of wear compared to the previous voltage past 3.9V. For example if we say charging to 80%/3.9V is 1 unit of wear, 85%/4V is 2 units of wear, 90%/4.1V is 4 units of wear and 95-100%/4.2V is 8 units of wear. That is how I am able to still have 90% battery health after over 600 cycles. That is also how electric vehicles still have about 85% health well after 200k miles.
Let’s say you enable the 80% charge limit, when the iPhone reach that percentage and you continue using it plugged in, what happens in that case? The iPhone will maintain that percentage or starts draining the battery again?
