"But we don't have enough people who understand art like calligraphy and painting." SO true! That's why I hand carve every (linoleum) seal for the labels I make over at Baisun Candle Co. Thanks Goldthread team for really making it feel like these episodes are made specially for me!
The insider business channel had a vid about Japanese ink stick making but I knew this was actually Chinese in origin so I looked for how the Chinese would make it. Thank you for showing this. More people should know where things originate from!
Amazing and beautiful!!!!!!! ❤, I just starting to learn Japanese, and kanji is beautiful!!! I want to expand my calligraphy into other languages and not just fonts.
I hope to own a genuine She inkstone one day, especially one that has an almost iridescent marbling that kind of resembles a photo of a nebula in outer space. They don't come cheap, but they will last an eternity with the proper care.
Absolutely love the art and Artistry, the craftsmanship is top notch, but I sadly had to watch on mute. The slow scrape of the tooltips on the stone nearly had me falling out of my chair, the sound bending my spine near in half. Curse you, human condition!
Sure would have liked to have seen at least one instance of the inkstone being used as an inkstone! But nope not once in the whole video do we see the object being used for its intended purpose
Do you own any precious painting tools of your own?
yes. where's episode 1?
How can I buy one from the inkstone artist in the video?
It’s just so nice to see a family doing these crafts together. It’s so sweet and beautiful.

just gonna leave a shoutout for the little boy with the Brazillian shirt....
Wouldn't even use the 200$ one for sketching when it can't be erased 🤣
Absolute waste of money, thanks for doing it for us.
