@@davidsii4173 I agree that people are horrible on the road towards bikes, and that the drivers should've looked around more carefully, I give you that. But the speeding and the weaving in and out of traffic are highly dangerous and far from smart riding. People don't expect a bike to approach so fast. It literally comes out of nowhere for everybody on the road. Moreover, even with the headlight on, motorcycles are smaller and therefore harder to see than cars, SUVs and trucks.

@@slothmarathonpromotions2470 Must have? I'm 99% sure that the driver didn't check his blind spot, only his mirror/-s before turning. Then he assumed that the motorcyklist must have come out of nowhere at breakneck speed since the bike seemingly popped up out of nowhere. Looking at where the bike was positioned compared to the car, and that they were going almost the same speed, it seems logical. Also, the driver might have thought the biker was disrespecting him when he revved the engine once after stopping (probably by accident).
I see this stuff happening all the time when I ride, so I always assume that nobody checks their blind spots and that everyone's on their phones. It's kept me safe so far, and I don't have to feel paranoid all the time.

3:31 you can solve that problem by attaching a harness from the front wheel to the stabilizer used. (in this case the 3 wheel extra attached to the back wheel). This way the harness will not let the front wheel go above a certain angle.

1:40 I love this intersection. No stop signs, no lights. Only a sign telling you NOT to honk your horn

    • @emilchandran546
      @emilchandran546 ปีที่แล้ว +2

It’s a small residential street. This is in India. But even where I live in Australia, it’s not uncommon to see “uncontrolled intersections.”
At such intersections, regular traffic rules apply. Drivers and riders should treat it as though they have a give way sign. Be prepared to stop and give way to traffic.
As in India and Australia traffic drives on the left, you give way to the right. Which is why the rider in the video is upset, although he was going too fast.
The “don’t blow horn” is because in India, the use of the horn is extremely routine. It is common for people to blow their horn as they approach a blind corner or any intersection in general.
However, as this is a quiet residential road, I’d imagine this sign is for residents living in this area.

My inline skating experience in cities and on trails has taught me two things VERY well that also apply to motorcycles.
1: STAY AWAY FROM DOGS. They get very weird and aggressive sometimes when you roll up on them, and it is the exact same concept for motorcycles. Confusion, then instinct, and it can get dangerous.
    2. Scan the road and everything ahead and around you as closely as you can. You do not want to lose focus and hit a random pothole or rock and go flying face first onto asphalt. Be focused on the road ahead and quickly check what is around and behind when safe to do so, especially at intersections.
These things have saved me from some serious incidents on skates, and they can save you on a motorcycle too.

the speeding ticket at 9:30 ish... in Australia they are soooo much harsher. over 40kmh over they impound and instant suspension of license, and a 2.5k (aud) fine. Even if the copper was nice, 100mph over would have no mercy

Smooth stable throttle imput. That reducing radius corner would have been fine if he looked deeper and started wider. Wrong apex and a little hot and a hot chock distraction lead to that

It seems like a simple solution to the wheelie training wheel deal in the one video would be to add a linkage to the sled that attached to the rear break pedal. Then calibrate it so that if the bike reaches more than say 45 degrees the linkage would apply rear break automatically forcing the nose of the bike back down without any input from the operator.

45 degrees is far from balance point. All she had to do was step on the rear brake. Might crush the fork seals but oh well.

On my written test was the question about what to do if a dog is charging at you and one of the choices was “kick the dog”. 😆

It looks like the wheelie girl should have had progressive, yet firm braking pressure on the rear wheel to safety slow down and avoid that crash. That was the only wheel touching the ground, so steering as you can see did literally nothing. Very cool device to learn how to stunt safely though! I'd love to try that one day.

I am just watching these so that when I get my first motorcycle soon (hopefully) I will be safe. However, 9:50 seems like a perfect example of one of the worst types of situations you can ride in. Low visibility, poor stopping/turning distance, and its a 4 lane road with center double left turn lane in what appears to be a fairly busy area...
If all I have to get to work is a bike, I'm just calling in sick tbh
