One major problem that I have with Southern Gospel Music Groups, is the unbelievably high turnover rate, among the Singers. Seems like with groups like this, that you'd have somebody singing one of the parts one year, and somebody else the next year! The Anchormen have had a great deal of talent come into the Group...but then, within about a year or two, they've left the group, and somebody else would come in to the group. For example:Less than 3 years after this footage was taken at the National Quartet Convention, by 2001, they didn't have Jeff Chapman in the group anymore. In 2002, he got the call to join The Kingdom Heirs. Now:He was with The Kingdom Heirs for about 21 years, then he went to Gold City, earlier this year. Steve Ladd, the Tenor Singer here, stayed with The Anchormen Quartet for several years, but spent some time in Gold City himself, as their Tenor Singer. Kinda reminds me of groups such as The Kingsmen Quartet, The Cathedrals, The Singing Americans, The Gold City Quartet, and other groups, with these groups experien 16:10 cing a high turnover rate, at least from time to time. Talk about a "Revolving Door"! It was, too! Only a very few Southern Gospel Groups underwent little to no changes. Unbelievable!
@@Classic.Southern.GospelThanks for responding to my message. Another problem that I ran into, with some Southern Gospel Groups, was that not everybody in their ranks were Christians. Some were...but some weren't. However, I'll leave it up to Almighty God to be the Judge of that. After all:We don't know everything, but you can rest assured that he does!
@@ronaldshank7589 I agree. Southern gospel is not that popular any more. In a way, that's a good thing, because I think it weeds out the unbelievers. You probably won't live the road life for not a lot of money if you are not a true Christian.
