- Bangladesh's Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, is visiting China to discuss the transborder Teesta River project between Bangladesh and China - a development which could unnerve New Delhi. People in Bangladesh are also demanding a resolution as millions of people continue to suffer from the effects of environmental disasters. Mohammad Kamruzzaman reports.

yeah so there is an international river named Teesta which is shared by India (upstream) and Bangladesh (downstream) . India has created dam on it to redirect water and doesn't follow the water sharing agreement resulting severe droughts in Bangladesh . Every monsoon they open all the dam doors and this causes floods.. Currently more than 10 million people are being effected for this issue. That's why Bangladesh government is taking up a project to manage the river water flow during monsoon. Bangladesh Govt also tried for years to get enough water during dry seasons but Indian state of Bengal has denied to provide and the state govt of west bengal made it a way to stay in power...
For years India has objected China's involvement in Teesta project citing security concerns and tried to sabotage it.
People of Bangladesh are suffering at the cost of Indian Interest.
