I am a 73-year-old straight woman, with a history of sexual abuse as a child.
I’ve been living a Christian life making many mistakes along the way struggling with self-worth and doubting God’s love for me.
Perhaps because I too, have not been as open and honest with all that I experienced. By not talking about it, I was hiding my shame from God and others.
Your testimony helps me to realize, that God is thankfully not finished with me yet.
I see God loves you in spite of what’s happened in your life, and that gives me courage to be honest with him and know that he loves me the same way.

All my life ive been told that i was gay because i always was into art and i would have this crazy imagination. I wasnt interested in sports. i love theatre. I was a religious christian who didnt watch porn till late teenager and thats why most were calling me gay. I knew what the bible said about same sex attraction so a part of me rejected that idea, thanking the Lord he didnt let get to me. However, the words of others including my own father led me to believe I was a shy, weak, small introvert kid. I derailed for 29 years having no idea who I was. I thank God that now i know my true identity in Jesus Christ. Im actually an extrovert who is called to talk about my testimony and all the amazing things God has done in my life which he can do in anyone.

Many similarities with my background. The Lord is faithful and just and has forgiven us. Now let’s pick up our mats and walk. Focus on Him, not the sin. See your life story as a story of God’s love and redemption. A God story. I used to always view every aspect of my life and even the Lord Himself through the image of sexual identity. And worse - that’s how I thought He saw me. I made sexual identity an idol. The Lord despises idols - not you - but idols because idols cause us to misplace our focus from the One who created to things that were created. Your past is something that happened, not who you are. The Lord created you for good works that He planned for you before there was even a you. You are His masterpiece. ❤

The devil prowls seeking whom he may devour but Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). Thank you, Lord Jesus! I just love this testimony and the way he explains his story - the masking, the lying, the layers of dark influence, shame and deceptions. It makes me ask, "Why wouldn't any child be deceived by that - how could a child not believe in the deception and false promises? I'm touched bc of my own deliverance experience from AN but also, I see these influences at the primary school where I work - kids with no protection against evil and suppression of the truth in Christ.
I love the way you narrate your experience. Your understanding and insights are good also and this helps the listener to understand you and your story deeper I am sorry that you had such a painful experience. I believe in Jesus with all my heart and I know the gospel and still growing in my walk with him. But I struggle with believing that I am loved or worth love. I feel like I’ve got bad luck. Before I left my job I would apply almost every day but still get rejected now that I’m unemployed every rejection response cuts deeper than it did while I was employed. I have a great partner but I feel like I don’t deserve him his family accepted me but I feel like I don’t belong there I compare myself to the first wife I feel like I’m cursed I don’t know…. 💔
Do you know the devil can talk to you too? Tell him to shut up you are a child of God. Fight those negative thoughts because you know they are NOT true! At first it's difficult but it gets easier and easier the more you do it.
@@ForTLoveofDogs the minute I say that the thoughts go away ,but then a heavy negative feeling just comes and overcomes my heart.
You are so loved by God, Zandi! Regardless of the lies the enemy has told you, your worth was determined by the price Jesus paid for you. He redeemed you with his own blood! (1 Peter 1:18-19) We are praying for you that the Lord would comfort you and strengthen you in those truths.

Wow this is so amazing. I think you’re so blessed to have come out of this torment. This has gotta be life changing encouraging for people w/ same sex attraction & want out! As well as those who want to address the residuals of it after being saved. This also applies to anyone w/ sexual abuse short or long term, because it does have an effect & deliverance is very important even if ppl think they’re not dealing w/ ‘stuff’ from it.

Thank you for being brave enough, for your testimony. It’s true. There’s a lot of LGBT people that came with religious or Christian background. However, because of inhumane and Conditional love of other Evangelical Christians, people are being lost. Instead of looking at the gay people with souls, they push them away further from the love of God. And I am very scared for those people. They will be judge.
For it is written, who so ever call the name of the Lord. that means whoever you may be you can come to God you could receive Jesus Christ as your savior (Rom 10:13) and let the Holy Spirit work in them. And not a human control behavior.
