    Hi Greg. I’m arriving in Geneva & going to grindlewald for 5 days. Planning on getting the berner oberland pass , if I buy the 1/2 price pass will that discount the Geneva train & the oberland pass ?? Thank you James & wife.

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey james, it will discount both yes! You have to choose the discount option though in both cases 👌 good plan to do that also. And check the map of validity of the berner oberland pass so when you go to grindelwald you only have to buy a normal ticket to the station the berner oberland pass starts to be valid at!

    Flew into Zurich. Went to railway kasse and helpful man sold us 1/2 price rail pass for 120sf then a Berner Oberland Pass for 315sf ( would have been 435sf without the 1/2 price card) this meant our return trip to Lauterbrunnen was 1/2 price saving 85sf then for the next 10 full days all train, cable cars, boats , post buses were free saving us ,00s of sf. Only extra cost was Murren to Shilthorn and Eiger Gletcher to Jungfraujoch- but these were 1/2 price.

    • @tashidelek5793
      @tashidelek5793 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for this comment. I thought Murren to Schilthorn was covered by the Bernese Oberland pass. Now i will decide whether to pay a little it more and do the Jungfraujoch instead of Schilthorn.

      @@tashidelek5793 no. Only until bottom of both because free passes only cover to 'occupied' destinations.

I love cows and this beautiful country and I want to settle there. I am from an Arab country, Algeria. Please help me.

    Grindelwald is a really beautiful place the Swiss landscape. We arrived today and could not believe there are so many flies. So disgusting especially you are eating. We really don’t expect this in Switzerland. Disappointing to say the least

    All so beautiful. Just don't make the same mistake as me in spending too much time in Zurich and thinking that's SUI !! I rushed thru Grindelwald, and regretted not spending more time. Nvm, 2025 here I come!

    This information is very useful, thanks so much. Sorry, but I'm wondering if de Berner Oberland Pass is the same as the Jungfrau Pass?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No the Berner Oberland Pass includes much more area and more trains. It‘s intended for the Berner Oberland (which is a region in Switzerland). The Jungfrau Region is a region within the Berner Oberland.

      Hi, can you advise how to book hotel or an apartment for family?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would book an apartment as a family, as you will most likely sleep in a chalet and sometimes you have access to a garden! You will find plenty options by searching holiday apartments grindelwald! 👌😊

    Hello! Great video! thank you! We are visiting Interlaken, Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen from November 27-30 this year. Would you think this is a rainy season? We also would like a quick trip to Naturpark Blausee

    Hey Greg. Great video. I actually stayed in Grindelwald for 4 nights last September. Was blown away by the beauty of it.
    Just 1 thing, about the activities at First. U have to go early, as theres a big rush for activities. Sometimes waiting period is more than 1 hr.

    I deliberately planned my trip to Grindelwald on 22 November knowing that most cable cars and attractions are closed for maintenance. I will be there for the views and sceneries hopefully with very little tourists there. Ideal for picture takings!

    Explaining the 3 train stations in Grindelwald was v helpful. I have been focusing on apts close to Grindelwald terminal expecting to arrive there from Interlaken ost. You think it might be more convenient to stay closer to Grindelwald station so we do not have to lug our suitcases around? I almost booked IT Mönch apts close to the Terminal station today for June 2025!

    Hi Greg! I have a question. I will be travelling to Switzerland in December for 11 days. Will go from Geneva to interlarken to Zurich. Should I buy Half fare pass and BO Pass or do you suggest only buying Switzerland Travel pass?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would do Swiss Travel Pass Flex (3 or 4 days), so you can cover the days with long distances on the pass. The pass will also give you 50% off on many cogwheel trains and cable cars.

  • @helenhor9516

    Hi Greg. Is travelling around Switzerland by bus a good option? Since you have always talked about the train system, I am wondering is there a bus system too?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats a good question! In Switzerland we have buses for commuter lines in cities and suburbs. There are also post buses (PostAuto) that connect rural areas. I don‘t think you can rely on buses solely to get about simply because there are not enough lines that connect. However if you want to travel in Europe, you have the option to travel large distances by bus with companies such as Flixbus.

      If you really want to see snow also in a bit lower regions then i suggest you have the best luck in january. The last couple decembers were a bit too warm.

    Is it worth getting the Berber oberland pass and the half fare card or will the half fare care be better for 4 days in the Interlaken region?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends how much you wanna do, if you wanna do a lot of cogwheel trains then get the pass. Also note that if you get the half fare card you get discount on the pass also!
