Yes, the RUSH12 and RUSH72 were also upgraded and include the CCW and Laptop compartment. Unfortunately, the RUSH12 will require the H2O Carrier and integrates with MOLLE. The RUSH24 side pockets can carry standard sized water bottles.
@@ProISH yeah but the rush 24 can only fit the regular water bottles and you still have to use the zipper to grab it, wish it was like a pocket in normal backpacks.
Nice pack but I don't like the laptop design...I'd prefer a separate pocket instead of having to remove items to access it. Anyways great review. Do you have any recommendations for similar packs?
Not sure I understood you correctly because it sounded like you said the width of the main/ laptop compartment was 8”. But then the front pocket I thought you said it was 11.2” wide.. can you confirm the dimensions of the padded area please? Thanks.

I can put important document (e.g. passport) and even a small water bottle, jacket, etc... 8) 2 anti-slip pieces at the back of the pack are no longer in 2.0 are also very welcome as they will rub my shirt from my experience 9) Laptop pouch are definitely better as they also serve as divider and in a way another compartment is there:) What else can I say, the best 37 litre tactical backpack not only get better and prefected.

Is there a color difference in the double tap of the old and the double tap of the new? The old looks darker in this video, but is that just due to dirt over the years?
its not an improvement. i bought the 2.0. id still prefer the old version if they are still available. i still want those drain holes. i prefer the old style of the handle. seems that they focused too much on it being a laptop bag. wat percentage of rush 24 buyers carry their laptop with them anyways?
Yes. I recently purchased the 5.11 Rush Belt Kit and works great. The padded waist belt helps with a heavy load and integrated MOLLE platform for more carrying capabilities.
Thanks for the review, fist i see on TH-cam, i like the conceal carry new feature but i miss the drain holes in thw bottom, i still prefer the old one model, now two options to choose.
The drain holes were an issue for some due to setting the bag on dirt, sand or mud and it getting inside bag. Many forums of people asking how to plug the holes. They also eliminated the hydration holes in the carry handle I assume for durability and eliminated the rubber pads on back as people complains their shirts would pull up when walking. By the way on 5.11 website it states that the Rush 24 2.0 has the “same durable 1050D nylon” so it must be a typo on whatever you had
@@williammunny6061 thanks for confirming 1050 Denier Ballistic Nylon material. Removing the drain holes feels like a good move, because some would duct tape the inside and could keep critters out. Good call outs on the other features
Thanks for the call out. I choose the 2.0 for the laptop/tablet compartment. I would have definitely stayed with the previous version for the extra main compartment mesh pocket if I did not need to carry electronics. When you pull the trigger, let me know your pick.
Is that side pockets on the inside wall of the main compartment? I know Gideonstactical said when reviewing the older version that was something he would have liked to see to hold water bottles or such.
Seems hard to tell whether the new bag is actually an improvement. Personally I'm quite dissapointed that they didn't update the extremely uncomfortable back padding, or lack thereof, that's the bags biggest flaw for anyone with back issues. I think I've given up on 511 and will be sticking with First Tactical
Looks like there gearing towards a more computer building crowd, instead of there Hiking / Tactical Outfoor crowd.......I prefer the tried and true design....the new one reminds me of a "Swiss Gear" type computer bag......
I have the old version of rush 24. And like the reviews. The "leather squares" on the back are starting to go after 3 years of just wearing to work everyday and wearing home
The newer 2021 version seems more streamline. Probably more appealing to civilian / range use. The 2020 seems a little more practical for military/ field use. I’m not taking my laptop to the field or on a mission.
I have the first version of the Rush 24 and Rush 6, honestly, they have held up very well as a bob bag. Would I buy the Rush 2.0 no, need too. The first gen works just fine for me 👍
They're amazing carry on bags for flying (remember when we were allowed to do that?!) I can get all my scuba kit including regs that I don't want to put in my hold luggage, plus spare prosthetic bits for my leg, again which I couldn't do without if my hold luggage went missing, good review
Thanks for sharing. I used to travel monthly pre-pandemic over the weekend or 1 day trips and this bag was great! I would love to learn scuba diving soon, and enhance my snorkeling adventures.
The drain holes are a deal-breaker for me. It makes that you can never put your bag on the ground without getting dirt, mud, snow, water, etc inside your bag. I never understood that design flaw.
It’s not a design flaw actually. They’re there to help drain water out and not collect water beneath when it gets soaked. Waterproofing is done inside the bag itself, packing your stuff inside dry bags for waterborne ops. Hope this helps
@@ProISH I use the Mollie in the hip belt if the 72 to lock in bottom bit of a chest rig. I wear the hip belt on the bag above a battle belt. So the pack can have weight around my body. But I find I need a smaller pack with that same hip belt. That's on the 72hour.
Thanks for the video. I’m not a fan of the updated 2.0 version. I think 5:11 has strayed from the original purpose of the pack.
Good input. I agree. The laptop padding decreases this compartment's space, and marginally increases the weight.
