Alien game with dumb Aliens is not an Alien game for me. Game also needs a better lighting model, characters and objects look like they are not in the environment.
This was a well informed review. Having said that, I would like to apologize to you GTVR for my attitude the last couple of weeks following Behemoth. I’ve given everything a lot of thought, probably too much and I realize that you are needed, and as upset as I was, I still really enjoy your reviews and the work that you do put in. As a long time fan, I really am happy to see how far you’ve come and pretty excited about where it will go. You do deserve it. I’m grown enough to admit that I was wrong in the way I commented. I hope you have a great Christmas and look forward to what you do in the new year. Great job man, sincerely…

Thanks for the review! Looking forward to jumping into this one, will probably be finishing up behemoth tonight. We've been very fortunate to get some really solid games as of late and I can't wait to see what else delivers in the future!
4:50 This is mainly why I watched this video, I am conflicted about this game because while I love the arcade style mechanics where you can just stand still and shoot at the aliens like some old arcade games, I would really love something more intense like alien isolation
The first trailer I saw reminded me of the arcade game. Honestly glad you explained the encounters. It seems like you can play this game like a real alien movie or like an action romp and its built for both
Great review thank you! My work vacation starts today so I’ll finally beat Metro then behemoth and lastly aliens (hopefully some updates hit before I get to aliens).
Man, I'm on the fence with this now. Thanks for the honest review. Survios has made some great games, but also arcade-y feeling...and this has some arcade-y elements that are seeming to bug me a bit. Overall though, I'm still thinking it looks pretty great, and they look to have mostly succeeded. Really sus though about the "Part 1" thing. Hmmm..
Sounds like a solid game. Sounds like Alien fans are in for a treat. I kind of get the same feeling from this as i did from Metro where i don't think the same environment for 10+ hours would be that enjoyable for me. I was hoping there might be a bit more variety
Thanks for you honest review! I will definitely try this. But first I have to finish Behemoth. Hopefully after they will have fixed some of the bugs in this Alien VR. Please let us know when you hear something about an update.
This review and the gameplay footage brought a huge smile to my face!! I absolutely cannot wait to play it and it desperately makes me want to splurge on a PSVR2 to experience it for the first time while it's still on sale ( sadly I can't afford it still due to budget)! The graphics and detail absolutely look amazing here and I'm so happy it turned out as good as I thought it would! Thanks for your great work as always GamertagVR!
In short, it turns out to be some kind of a passer-by / dummy project, with a great emphasis on the shooter component. Plus, why didn't the developers change the name and assign Part one ? :) It turns out that they seemed to understand that they did not meet the deadlines and cut out part of the game? :)
I agree with pretty much everything you've said here. I would add though that the game tells you to inject the stims into your wrist, so that'd be why it was trying to guide you there when you were using them on your chest 😉 I actually like the way the gear items don't need to be put back in your inventory. Apart from never losing your items it also means you can get creative, especially with the motion tracker. I found placing it down on the table next to the terminals I was using works great as you'll have a heads up if any xenos appear. I have to disagree about the game feeling like a VR mod though. It's clearly been built for VR and that came across very well in my play time. If it was the head bob/sway you really didn't like you can always disable that in the menu. Personally I felt it added some weight to the movement. Edit: the weapon sway wasn't necessary though. I think there was an option to disable this too, but would have to load in to check. It's definitely a must have game, and easily up there with the best Alien(s) games...although with this franchise there always seems to be a wide gulf between them being fantastic or a bit of a wet fart. Thankfully the only change of pants needed here is when the xenos get the jump on you! 😂😉
Sounds like a good time to me. A few bugs here and there that I'm sure will get ironed out but apart from that, this sounds exactly what I want from a shooter set in the Alien universe. How far we've come since Aliens Colonial Marines 😂 Bring on tomorrow! 🎉
It just looks like the Arcade cabinet shooter Aliens Extermination. Aliens leap in front of you, do the same little dance as the Alien next to it, then run directly at you.
I tried playing Isolation twice because it was hyped so much, but hide & seek horror games simply aren't for me (I do love classic survival-horror games though).
This game sounds absolutely everything I wanted from an alien game. I really didn’t like isolation. Only alien game I loved was alien Dark Descent. And this game reminds me of that.
Yeah,Isolation is just too much hide & seek.I don’t mind a few hide & seek elements here and there.I thought the hide & seek part at the beginning of The Evil Within was genius.they didn’t over do it they just provided a nice intense moment to get you started.after that, the action picks up immediately

The full body IK could be better. At times your weapons collide with other objects on your body, including when you have those med plungers stuck in your chest. The weapon swaying that happens when you move is also very annoying and detracts from the feel. I also had the shotgun randomly fire a few times when I holstered it on my back haha
I am really looking forward to the weapons, especially considering there is detailed reloads an all of that, the more interaction the better, as long as it works well- esp with lots of different weapons- the more weapons the better. We need more games like that.
