- Sky News host Danica De Giorgio says the Albanese government has put in place "reckless policies" to force coal out of the market - in favour of wind and solar energy.
As Eastern Australia goes through a cold snap, the energy market operator AEMO has warned there may not be enough gas in the system to meet demand.
"Labor's obsession with renewables is clearly plunging us into oblivion; we are on a dangerous and reckless path," Ms De Giorgio said.

Mr Magoo gave himself three pay rises since taking office. He lives in tax payer funded housing, using tax payer funded electricity. I received a letter from origin today. The electricity companies will make sure they never lose out.
Solar, it's a great scam by the gov't/energy companies....the consumer pays for the electricity infrustructure (rooftop solar) and then gives the energy to the grid virtually for free only to buy it back at a 5 times multiple. Awesome business plan don't you think.
Pure evil.
He's lived off the taxpayer his entire life.
Not many of them have had real job .
No ministers actually
Politicians forget that they are there to serve not rule…….grubs.
Finland is building new nuclear power stations but apparently Labor thinks that Australia is too stupid to do that.
What did the new one cost, what was it supposed to cost, how long did it take to build, how long was it supposed to take to build, what price is a MW of power from it, has it recently throttled right back as wind power is making it pay to put power into the grid instead of making money..........i'll wait for your answers
@@spikegumby7186if you did your own research you'd find nuclear power plants can be built on the existing coal stations sites and use the same power lines. A power plant currently can be built in just 5 -9 years and they are in use for up to 80 years. Nuclear is CHEAP, RELIABLE POWER. Renewables not only destroy our forests, animal habitats and farming land they are too expensive. The fans and mirrors need replacing every 14-20 years which is a FOREVER cost and do end up in the trillions. Renewables need regular continuous 6 monthly maintenance, ANOTHER FOREVER cost. Germany spent over €900billion on Renewables and they're now pulling down windfalls and going back to coal/gas/nuclear and Germany aren't the only country doing this. Bowen is 10 years behind in his thinking and needs to wake up to his stupidity in pushing these useless destructive fans and mirrors.
If labor continues to play the ludite with nuke, they will be evicted from the decisions of how its built or structured
Because of the agreements setup with foreign investors into this renewable crap, you'll find they have a guaranteed return of investment - so any local owned generation will throttle back so the investors can make their money.
It’s reliable STUPID
Gas shortage is a Government made shortage, to justify price increase.
They just blocked Woodside from drilling in WA 275 km of shore because some superstitious old lady claimed that she had a connection with the whales. That is the sort of thinking that is going down in our country. That is modern Australia. These are the people that carry on about following the science.
Labor is terrified. Keep going Dutton.
Bowen on over $200K plus all his Ministerial benefits, why would he care how much power costs? The problem is people like Bowen don't have to experience the outcomes of their decisions, they are so removed from the reality electors live in.
They Jetset around the world, so they should be familiar with problems that the same popular delusion based energy policy produced in Germany.
The real pain hasn't even started yet!
Labor will want windmills on everyone's house next.
Their are some small shrouded windmills, that could become useful domestically. It may become cheaper for houses and farms to make their own electricity in the future. Of course making predictions is always fraught with error, but the technology is getting cheaper and more efficient. Technology improves in First World countries. Compare a Ford Model T to a 308 V8 Monaro. ( of course the former was merely a Ford)

We need to withdraw from the Paris accord and use the most economical energy resources available. Nuclear power plants should be legalised and we should continue to build coal fired power plants like the Chinese, Indians and Indonesians.
Indonesia is so full of earthquakes, tsunamis and earthquakes, that having nuclear power stations requires a belief that God is merciful. China and its little excursions into flammable high rise cladding, collapsing concrete constructions and crappy management of virus warfare weapons gives no confidence. They also have a habit of drowning hundreds of people with unannounced dam releases and then denying the outcome. I have no comment either way on India. It may work for them.
