I owned and raced a 1977 OSSA GPIII Phantom 250 when I was a kid. It was Pete Wolfe’s practice bike when he was riding pro moto-X. Fastest and best handling 250 I have ever ridden. Problem was I raced 12 motos. Won 8 blew transmission 4 times. I believe OSSA said the lay shaft in the transmission would flex when I landed with the power screwed on. They did everything they could in their distribution center in PA. Even sent me the plans for a clutch hub that was supposed to absorb some of the shock. Looked like an old rubber isolated brake hub. Unfortunately it was no help. What a shame it couldn’t be straightened out great motorcycle bad transmission design. Now the 250 OSSA flat track bikes kicked butt. Take care and ride safe.
Hi dear!!! Hope you are well. Your video-making is very good. Your content ideas are excellent. But I am researching your channel and was shocked to see that your every video has lower audience engagement and reach also much lower. If you permit me, I will share some information to increase your channel. Then you get lots of subs, views, and a larger audience reach organically daily. Waiting for your valuable response, Thank you.
Awesome! My first bike was a '74 Honda TL125 trials bike, but I lusted after the Ossa MAR. Brings back so many memories of just riding around in the woods looking for logs to jump and trying low speed manuvevers.
I run 6lbs in the front, 4lbs in the rear with my IRC trials tires and get great traction on my '74 Yamaha TY250A. You need 50 & 80cc trials bikes for your boys!
I didn't find a like button and was surprised to see so many dislikes. Great video. I never rode trials, (I am 77 yrs old) but always loved trail riding and enduros. Penton KTM 250 was my favorite, but hardly a trials tune. I assume your wife was walking.
Awesome content, love Ossa's back in my youth (yout as you might say in the Bronx) we raced on a scrambles track, the Ossa Stiletto's were the Jam (white and orange fiberglass) It was always a Spanish dominance in the 250 class with The Ossa and the Bultaco Atro's at the top. Great bikes. Thanks for the memories! God Bless.
Watching you look up that one undeveloped area you were contemplating, all I could think was, "he must not be allergic to poison oak." I get with ten feet of that stuff and I break out in blisters.
Hahaha! I do get poison oak, but just settled on it not keeping me out of the woods. Cold shower with a scrub within 4 hours to prevent, hot shower to treat instead of itching. 15 years living with it like that 👍👍
@@wheelhousegarage All my trailriding, almost all, has been at over 3000' elevation. Poison oak doesnt grow over 3000. It takes me out for a month if I get it.
Takes me back! Drove a 77 350 MAR Ossa sidecar trials outfit for a couuple of years in our local Thursday evening series, the guy who owned it was frightened of downhills so was the passenger!
@@wheelhousegarage It great especially if you are a rubbish solo trials rider (I'm from the speed side of off-road racing). You get to learn about getting grip on both ends in slow motion without falling over. I lived an area where sidecars were a big thing so rode sidecar grasstrack, motocross and enduro, mostly when my solo career ended like a lot of guys when the knees wore out.
Ya know that’s a good question that I don’t really have experience with. Got lucky with this one because it didn’t need anything. Let me know if you get one and need some references - I’m sure I can point you in the right direction 👍
Absolutely great video! My round dangly things aren't big enough to do stuff like that but I love watching. What a fantastic bike! Never heard of OSSA but it looks and sounds brilliant! Keep the videos coming, I grew up in the 70s on BSAs and love the machines you feature. All the best, Phil (UK)
The best part of the video was you and your two sons working together on the trail. The Ossa part ran a very close second. A friend of mine had a Ossa back in the 80’s. I had a Yamaha DT 250. We spent many weekends riding together on the trails First and only trials bike , and for sure Ossa I have ever seen. Excellent video.
At the end where you said “ it’s fast too, I’ll show you “ … I thought oh no, the wife’s filming, if this goes wrong, or even a freak accident then he’s never gonna live this one down 😂💯😜 you know how it goes. Haha
How's your parking? I ask, because you could host a cool vintage trials on that property. Use your single track as the loop. Just in that short vid, I saw about 12 real nice areas for sections. I have a 1976 Honda TL250 and I'd make the trip to Cali from Tucson.:)
Thumbs up to the unacknowledged camera person ! I rode trials for years, and NZ terrain is similar to yours...I was absolutely hopeless at it, but yeah, the exercise, pushing yourself to do things you thought you couldn't do, learning to read the terrain, plot a course, success, failure, the best of times. I usually ran 4 psi front and rear, down to 3 in real nasty stuff. And don't let the tyres get too old, they are useless if they can't flex.
@@wheelhousegarage The new versions of Trials Tires are amazing, Ive ran the Dunlop Radial trials tire with Tubliss insert on a KTM 300XCW...........@6 or 7 psi it would climb pretty much anything, while knobby tired bikes spun and stuck. I used the Dunlop for years trailriding on steep to vertical trails.......what was cool was they would last 2 full seasons easy, even if they looked worn they still worked great.
Don t ever sell that bike. It sounds nice.
Love the crisp crackle of the 2Stroke.
Can I get a wheelhouse garage sticker for my bike? (1971 BSA B50 special)
I love the smell of two stroke in the morning
I thought I was the only one. lol!

It's not vintage, but have a look at the Ossa Tri280 built in 2013 , interesting in it's own right.
Fascinating bike! I remember when those came out. Would love to try one out.

Very cool!!
A lot of trials bikes are uncomfortable to sit down on that one looks like it's comfortable
It is pretty darn comfy!

Good to know! I’ll drop em down a little more! Thanks for the tip!
We do have a Cota 49 🤘🤘
Love the smell of two-stroke in the morning, sorry i couldn't resist that!

Next thing I know, I'll find reviews of Jawas, Montesas and Maicos on your site.
I rode Montasa bultaco all those Spanish bikes had the same problem femsa electronics junk!
Had a bultaco 350 sherpa. Fun even in so calif deserts.

Reminds me of the old early Suzuki ts
Lovely old trials bike

Regarding that challenging hill, my old ‘65 Greeves TFS Trials would have been ideal with its HEAVY front end
Oh sah ??? here on the UK its an ossa.
Tom-aye-toe, tom-ah-toe😄
@@wheelhousegarage Tosa.. tossa.
Rad little trail you guys built. Awesome Saturday vid 👌
Thanks for watching!
Loved the sound of that engine. Get them boys working Bill.
No beer?
I quit drinking…. Hahaha NOT!! 🤣

Another great video! I always enjoy your content, please keep them coming!
Thanks for watching! Will do!
Dad was a Ossa rep and always said that they handled fantastic
Not sure about that specific model but I think it would pull smoother and cleaner if you had a packed tail pipe on it .
interesting!

It’s a long term goal of mine to host a trials event here! I have parking solutions figured out already 😂
@@wheelhousegarage Reach out if you need any help. I'm retired and will travel.
Get on a fire road in 4th gear with 5th to go on the rear wheel and wheelie till you're bored! I've been there my friend!😅

Esa Ossa mola

Man the engine sounds killer on my van radio!
Hell yeah! Crank it up!
Your gonna have to show us how turn on the spot on the back wheel, i need to learn it for riding my Montesa.
ha ha! Not sure I'd could teach anyone... was surprised I could do it myself 🤣
Look up 'pivot turns' - it's a standard hard Enduro move for tight spots.
is that a metal tank or fiberglass?
Fiberglass 👍
