I love this, it could be a little tricky if the other person is not a conversationalist but rather just a talker. Then we need to learn how and when to make those people pause so we can speak too.

This works great in theory but in actuality, if you pause after someone finishes speaking, they will just continue talking or another person will jump in. I actually was able to do this with someone last night who was a very respectful conversationalist. It was so nice to be able to pause and actually think about what he said because I knew he wasn't going to just run his mouth continuously. This is a skill everyone needs to learn in school.

May I ask your advice when you're already a natural at this skill and enjoy the art of conversation however encounter people that are not absent during conversations, or zero emotional intelligence and just enjoy responding just to make noise? These can commonly be family members and daily encounters in our normal life? I love and adore self improvement/self development but when you're leaving the masses behind and have spent a majority of years enjoying our own company due to not finding people that are on the same frequency it's..
    well, 😏🤷🏻‍♀️

And this is also how you sift out toxic people. They can't stand to absorb information. When they interrupt you, remember what you were trying to talk about and after they've ruined your communication, ask them, "How did we get to this topic?"
Then watch that sadistic grin, the hard-to-hide shrug and "I don't even know." Then stop talking to that toxic piece of trash for the rest of your life and only communicate with people who value uour words and insight, in the same way you value theirs.

Sir, 3 to 5 second pause is a slow pace. If you take three to five seconds to reply in a an hour interview, just imagine how many important minutes would be wasted for an hour of interview. Besides, if it is in the midst of a large audience. It would be a drag, Mr.
