i did say that the cummins 6bt is a good engine. we used it here in the uk till about 2001. the 6bt was fitted on lightweight leyland daf trucks or buses. it worked better in the trucks since they had 130bhp or 150bhp engines and had a manual gearbox. the buses with the 6bt was only offered with the 130bhp and an allison at545. it wasnt very powerful in buses but they did its job.
+michael jagger This one has the at545. It does ok. Its main selling point is that replacements are cheap, since nobody wants them. I would definitely prefer a manual, though.
I have a cold-start video up from awhile back, and I think I showed the interior a bit. I haven't worked on the interior much since then, but I need to because cooler camping weather will be here soon. I have a little Kubota diesel engine I plan to build into a generator for the bus.
It has rained almost every day for the past two months. Usually it is not quite as bad, and only rains enough to just keep the humidity at 100% to go with the 100F temperatures. This year, the mosquito larvae are drowning.
That bus is a monster, it has a semi motor. You will never make money on that road, you didn't pick anybody. how did a country boy score that thanks good vid
One of my local friends spotted it for sale and told me about it. The guy who owned it was behind on some bills and had to sell it to get caught up. I hate it for him, but that's life sometimes.
I think the door is open the whole ride lol. nice vid
Thank you for this video

Huh doesn't the bus have a low mounted turbo?
That buckle has a problem. I need to find another one to replace it.
is that big lever on the dashboard to shut the doors manually?
+Michael Jagger Yes.
seen them levers on gmc new look buses etc.
+Possum Living Can this bus go from 0 to 60?
+kjchicago1 Yep, eventually!
you mean there's another way?
Yes, it does! Hard to beat a good old 12-valve Cummins. I have one in a Dodge truck, too.
5.9
My soon to be future home on wheels!
Same here! Just bought a 34’ 97 12 valve tc2000
@@Jesse-re6gp Good choice👍
that thing sounds sweet :)
Cool ASCII art, Matt! I gotta say, that's the best thumbs-up I've ever gotten!
Your seat belt done come undone!
That's a good idea! There would be a virtually unlimited supply of fuel to power it.
great video. I like to drive big rigs and buses. :D
Yeah, me too. Especially diesels.
A school bus is a big rig
How is the bus doing?
Alternator quit working; I need to look into that.
Yes Cummins
Why such a high idle?
To charge the battery and circulate fluids more efficiently. It has manual idle control on the dash.
oh the sweet sound of a Cummins!
Im jealous!
i wish i was on that bus
