Absolutely. I liked how Jan Hooks was not interested in the celebrity aspect wanted fame and fortune. It’s sad how she died. She was such as funny lady. She was very cute and adorable during the 80s and early 90s.
That hilariously exaggerated impression of a southern accent and how she smiles so pleasantly at it being built on an Indian burial mound lmao. One of the most ingenious performers in SNL history
My brother and I were just at the Alamo last weekend, we were doing a ghost tour. There were LOTS of white people and we were like the only two Hispanic guys. I swear we kept quoting this whole damn scene and we’d laugh our asses off when we got to the “buenos días” line .. lol
I know this movie is comedy but, I felt bad for Pee Wee that he got laughed at from 2:37-2:48 since that tour guide Tina shouldn't be laughing at others while on the job which could get her fired which caused the others to start laughing too.
FYI, they literally know nothing about Pee Wee, let alone why he's there in the first place. They also didn't think he was serious, and the fortune teller was the one that lied to him. So you can't blame them for laughing.
@@davidwallgren7575 Yes, I know the others didn't know anything about the reason why Pee Wee came to the Alamo not knowing it was because of his bike but thought he was just a regular person coming for the tour. Either way, it doesn't seem like a necessary thing to laugh when the tour guide Tina could have just said normally, "there's no basement at the Alamo." Unless maybe the reason they were laughing was because it was popular to know that the Alamo doesn't have a basement and their laughing was out of surprise that he doesn't know (maybe he did know but he wasn't thinking too well about it because he was too happily excited that there was news on where his bike was which he loves more than anyone and anything else in the world). Regarding their laughing here with Tina starting it, for example years ago I went into a supermarket to go buy a box of Cocoa Pebbles and I couldn't find it anywhere and I told a supermarket employee if there is any more Cocoa Pebbles and he said in a normal way, "I'm sorry we're out of stock of Cocoa Pebbles and we don't know when we'll have more in stock" and if he laughed saying there's no more Cocoa Pebbles, I would have said "what's so funny about that, is that any reason to laugh and treat a customer?" I guess that's the same way for Tina here that she shouldn't be laughing and making fun of Pee Wee while on the job.
I read an article that everyday since this film atleast one person asks to see the basement as a joke.. true legend peewee
I would if I ever went to the Alamo
I went last summer, completely forgot to do that...but now they have self-guided tours so I'm not sure who I would've asked anyway.
I did. Only little kids laughed. This was like 25 years ago
Let's not forget how funny Jan Hooks was in this scene.
Funny. . . but adorable.

Omg! This was my childhood favorite! ❤ R.I.P. Paul Reubens
...and Phil Hartman and Jan Hooks.
A comedic genius. My hero
Rest in peace Paul Reubens.
He wasn’t a big part of why childhood but I see why people loved him.
R.I.P. 🪦 Paul "Pee Wee Herman" Reubens and Jan Hooks
I bet a lot of people asked to see the basement during their first visit to the Alamo and were laughed at and humiliated by other people.
I ❤ Pee-Wee Herman 💘
I don't why but the buenos dias line gets me every time.

I have so many memories of Paul Reubens it's hard to accept he's gone😔 But I know he's in a better place now
A cemetery is better?

RIP Paul Reubens
Rip Pee Wee 😢🙏🤍
The kid taking the picture is something that would have happened on the Simpsons in the 90's
Rip Paul Reubens
1. The Alamo interior looks nothing like that.
2. There actually is a basement. It's under the gift shop.
3. Bill Travis? I've only ever heard him referred to as William Barret Travis or William B. Travis.
@@gregorymoore2877 I was gonna say this! Especially since she's referring to William B. Travis and not just William Travis.
The Alamo interior and partial exterior were all filmed at the Mission San Fernando de Espana in San Fernando, CA. ⛪
1:49 that whole part always made me laugh. I dont know why, but it's hilarious.
I act like that whenever I go out and visit fun places
Dammit. Bye peewee. 😢
Legion has it that in the director's cut, the scene continues on with Tina actually going through ALL the corn uses...

The lady chewing gum...Gen. Santa Anna made chewing gum popular
