Hello, I am Mexican and I really like to see the content of the people who visit my country and my city, because it is a way of re-discovering the good and the bad things that we have. Also, I like others to see and marvel at the enigmatic nature of my culture; Salvador Dhalí said referring to Mexico: "I cannot live in a country more surreal than my paintings.." I want to thank you for the way you have done your tours, because it shows that you want to show the details in the constructions, the beauty of the parks, the daily way of the people, and that at the same time, it seems that you are also amazed.
Thank you so much for this comment! I love Mexico and I’m especially fascinated by its pre-hispanic history! I’m so glad to hear that you, as a Mexican, enjoyed the video! Thank you!
Another fabulous video! The Diego Rivera murals look like they are worth a trip to Mexico City all by themselves. I loved seeing all the archaeological ruins, the Tiffany glass skylight, the view from the Sears building of the Fine Arts Museum - how did you do all that in one day? Especially loved your exorcism (or what ever that was) - you crack me up, and your self-deprecating humor and "bad luck" makes me feel better about my travel disappointments. Looking forward to Day 3, gringo!
There are so many more Diego Rivera murals around the city; I could do a single video just on them! It was a shame the Palacio Nacional was closed to visitors; they really are a sight. You can definitely do all this in one day if you start early. I started at 9 and finished by 6ish. Everything is fairly close together. Thanks for watching; I appreciate it and I’m so happy you like it!
@@GringoInterrupted Ok, well, the big one is safety after dark. Now, I've walked across London after dark (really, the underground was closed. From Euston station to Elephant and Castle I walked). Just how bad is it there? I have a friend there telling me I do not want to be out after dark. Then I watch all the videos here telling me, it's ok. What do you think?
Roma and Condesa are safe to walk around at night. Polanco too. Centro: use your judgement. I wouldn’t walk alone at night through empty streets in Centro. Of course, two is better. I walk at night with a friend all over. Of course, there are some neighborhoods you should avoid all together like any city.
Man u really nailed it! Your photography as well as your editing are majestic and let's not forget about the historical data that you enclosed, !!!! Big standing ovation yo you Sir!
Wow, thank you so much! It’s so nice to hear that my work is being appreciated!I really enjoy making these videos! Traveling a lot next month and looking forward to making more! I’m so glad you’re enjoying them! Cheers!
Great Video !!!...Next time go to PARQUE LA MEXICANA, if you Love Huge Parks , this is the one, Huge, a lot of Cafes, Lakes, Restaurants, Amazing landscape, Skateboard zones, Pet Friendly and Awesome Architecture !!!...I love Bohemian Neighborhoods like San Angel and Chimalistac.
Thanks so much! I haven’t made it to Santa Fe yet! I also love San Angel and Chimalistac! I will have a video about the Bazaar Sábado in San Angel soon! Thanks again!
I subscribed for the dimples. LOL, I will be there for a week on the 14th of Sept and I am so looking forward to it. I will be staying at the Hotel Historico Central at Bolivar 28. Thanks for the tips.
You should subscribe for my amazing content but I’m not above being liked only for my dimple! I’ll take it! Have an awesome time! Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for watching!
Mexico was not a Colony of the Spanish Empire, it was a Viceroyalty. It had its own Viceroy, not a Governor; someone with the proper Nobility Titles, Government Powers, Economic Control and His own Court (in the Viceroyal -National- Palace) representing the King of Spain in Mexico. There were Colonies that have their own Governors, but that were politically and economically dependent of the Viceregal Government in Mexico City. Colonies like Guatemala or The Philippines were dependent Colonies of Mexico. Being a well versed traveler in history (unlike most TH-camrs) I thought you'd appreciate the knowledge. Enjoy your travels. Cheers
Interesting, thank you! My knowledge of Mexican history is pretty limited to the pre-Hispanic period as I’m fascinated by the indigenous cultures but I’m learning more about the Viceroyalty as I travel. Have you watched the series, Hernán? I just finished it!
@@GringoInterrupted No I haven't. Is it on Netflix, or another platform? Cortes is one of those historical characters Mexicans love to hate. There are many other despicable figures in their history, but Cortes is still the most hated of all. In spite the turbulent history and natural cataclysms, there are still a handful of buildings standing in Mexico City, Cuernavaca, or Vera-Cruz built by the Spanish Conqueror, and Mexicans love them. If you have the chance, much worth the visit. Mexico never ceased to amaze me. Enjoy the experience. Cheers
It’s on Roku Channel. It’s free online. I talk about Cortes and visit the house he built for La Malinche in my Coyoacán video. So cool! Thanks again for watching!
@@GringoInterrupted Great, I'll check it out. BTW, there are two impressive constructions still standing built by Cortes in Coyoacan, his Palace, and a large mansion built for 'La Malinche', his Mexican Princess mistress, in Coyoacan, this second one still bears it's original intricate exterior wall decoration from the 16th Century. You'll appreciate it. Thanks for the tip. Cheers
IF I WAS YOU, YOU SHOULD LIVE THERE CAUSE OF CHEAP FOOD, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GAS PRICES SINCE YOU CAN TAKE TRAIN EVERYDAY, THE WEATHER IS 24/7 WARM ALL YEAR LONG, AND THE PEOPLE ARE BETTER THEN UNITED STATES....AND YOU CAN SAY MARRY CHRISTMAS IN MEXICO CITY ALSO AND MORE
Please don't. Tourists are great but having foreigns coming to live here is displacing locals. We can't afford to live in our own cities because of gentrification.
Yes, I understand. Unfortunately, I believe the only solution to this lies with the government. Foreigners will continue to come as long as the government allows it. The real issue, I believe, is capitalism. Mexican home owners are raising rents for “gringo” immigrants. U.S. employers hire Mexican immigrants for less pay. In the end, everyone’s main concern is their wallet. I have met many Americans living in Mexican cities. Most are here because they can live much better in Mexico with the U.S.dollar, but some older people really can not afford to live in the U.S. anymore. I met an older woman in Patzcuaro with health problems who lived in her car in the U.S., but now has a small apartment there. And of course, the U.S. is filled with Mexican immigrants who come to work and send money back to Mexico. It’s a complicated issue. I do not live in Mexico, but perhaps one day when I can retire, I would. But I sincerely love Mexico, its history, culture, food, people, and I speak Spanish. Hopefully, you can tell from my videos that I’m in love with Mexico. If I did ever move, I would do whatever I could to contribute to the community. Thanks for watching!
Don’t encourage people to stay in CDM. As it is, there are thousands if not millions on foreign illegal migrants living all over Mexico. We don’t want them here anymore. You try to visit USA and find out what a hard time you get from the Americans, so do not encourage anyone to live in CDM
Gringo stop recomending other gringos to eat at Sanborns, if you want quality food go to El Cardenal or Café Tacuba both near by and way way better than that restaurant BTW cool videos
Ups! Me encantan la cara que pones cuando no pudiste ver las serpientes. Gracias por tu videos, los disfruto mucho.
Jaja, muchas gracias! 😂
