I always think of him in such emotional agony. He did ask Judas to do what he was going to do "quickly" . I felt like some historians he never thought Jesus wouldn't fight, still an awful thing but Judas filling deep remorse and killing himself showed how awful he felt. He didn't understand him rising again but neither did the ones who walked with him and who hid from him and the soldiers. Pilate knew, I wonder if he saw Jesus later....
I have read A thought from the book this tremendous lover which I suggest to everyone... But this instance. Of him starting to sweat blood show the most painful side of his passion.... Which was the weight of all of our sins.. each one of us before during and after.. It wasn't fear of physical pain which thinking himanly would do yhis to all of us But it was the weight of all of our sin which in an eternal cosmic supernatural battle sense that we can't grasp would do this to the son of man... One thing I did find Amazing with this explanation. Is that yes, bleeding would inpensify his pain Even more than what we could imagine....
How ever just as the man that was Jesus had to do his part so in turn did Judas. With out the betrayal the 30 pieces of silver would not have changed hands. It amazes me when you get into it, even the roman driving nails had to play his part.
I am watching 'Pints with Aquinas' on a weekly basis and I find the videos to be really instructive. I have learned a lot on Catholicism by watching your videos and I have yet a lot to learn. However as a Muslim I don't understand the reason for the Passion of Christ in Catholicism. According to the Summa Theologica of Thomas Aquinas, God could have chosen another way to save Mankind without undermining his Justice. Also Catholicism is so hard, it is so difficult to be saved according to my understanding of the Catechism of Pius X (as only one mortal committed in full conscience without confession or perfect contrition can lead even a practicing Catholic to Hell forever) that I don't understand how the crucifixion of Christ (according to Catholicism) made Salvation easier for Mankind. Also contraception is a mortal sin in Catholicism while it is not in other Religions including Islam. I actually think that people in the Old Testament had it easier than Catholics and were able to be saved by calling upon the name of the Lord. No belief in the Passion of Christ required and a Law less strict than Catholicism.
Huh that's interesting. I knew a Muslim who said contraception isn't allowed in Islam, either. I'm guessing there is more than 1 school of thought on this issue?
This would be true... If we took God out of the equation, and only depended on our works to get to heaven. It is only He alone that sees our contrite hearts, and we trust in His mercy. The goal on Earth is not to go to heaven, but Theosis. To become like Christ. To take up our own crosses and follow. One may be a practicing Catholic, but if they truly loved God, would they not try to offend Him (as with any one they deeply loved)? The OT people did not go to heaven. They went to Sheol, a place of darkness. That's what makes salvation a marked difference, we go to heaven to be united w Christ.
If you are sorry for your sins and ask the Lord to forgive you, and you are unable to go to confession, the Lord will surely forgive you, because you have admitted your sins and asked for mercy. If you read or watch any youtube videos about Divine Mercy and how Jesus appeared to St. Faustina telling her how he will 3 times before the person dies, appears to them to offer them his mercy, you will see that God provides ample opportunities to save the soul.
I'm glad you've been learning so much friend! You are asking very good questions. I don't have all the answers, but I hope I can point you in the right direction. One mortal sin in full conscience without remorse would be enough to send a person to Hell, but again this is without remorse. What truly separates Man from God is rejection of Him as our Lord and Father, not any one single sin--for Jesus died to save us "while we were still yet sinners," so sayeth the Scriptures. The Scriptures also say, "God desires ALL to be saved," so I highly doubt He would let one single sin banish someone who truly desires His salvation in humbleness. The rebellion against God as our Father is what is so dangerous. I was not aware contraception was a mortal sin. That seems far too extreme to me. I knew it was warned against, because it literally puts a physical separation between you and your spouse, meaning you are not loving each other fully and openly. The divorce rates among contraception users (and those in cohabitation as well) is much higher. For a Catholic couple, my brother said you can do "NFP" (Natural Family Planning) where you simply have sex mindful of the woman's reproductive cycles; you don't have to have children plus it's free of unnatural tampering. Ultimately, children keep couples together. Sex for its own use is shallow and will never truly fulfill what your soul needs. I hope something here helped you, friend!
Two things: 1.I think the death penalty for Jesus was because he was an thret to tje romans because if ot was blasphemy he would have been stoned according to jewish law. 2.Pilate probably had no problem with crucifying Jesus because only some years later he killed a lot of Samaritarians which lead to an end of his reign because of his brutality.
Beautifully said! I’m a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I love finding out so much we all Christians have in common in Christ even with different doctrines. I think it’s time for us to build bridges between ourselves because the world is evolving against us and against religion. Together we are stronger and understanding and loving one another as Jesus taught is the key. Thank you for sharing this with us ❤️
God is so good, Amen! 💕

@@Becca_Lynn absolutely!! that’s what He expects us to go after ❤️
Look into lds. The book is false and unbiblical.
Your religion denies the true identity of our Lord, repent.
@@sandmaneyes Let's pray for one another as well to know what is true. :) God will do his work on our hearts!
