The old photos are stunningly beautiful in themselves. These buildings have survived and are now encircled by magnificent modern structures. Considering Halifax experienced the 1917 explosion she has retained much of her former beauty and glory. Modern Halifax has done well growing in a way that does not forget the past. I absolutely love the central library! Now she needs an Aquarium, better recreational and sports facilities, a new art gallery, and an Opera House that would serve/support many musical expressions. Halifax needs a new era of public buildings to complement these pictures and beautiful new highrises. 🙂
