tip - don't look for the eggs in Monsoon plains - look for them in Blossom Row - much better chance as you don't get the Jungle and Desert Dens as well.

Welp, I actually got my first Kirin by completing the egg fragments, there were 3 Elder dragon fragments that I put in, some Tmncrn Fragments, Fng Bst, and Flying Wyvern egg fragments, then I hatched it, I was so suprised that I got a Kirin! But I also got a Kirin egg in the Plains, thanks to you GGK! I was also inspired by your Genes GGK, thank you so much, it was such a big help!
Also, if you're looking for the Soul Kinship gene, Azure Rathalos can get it sometimes (i got a Kinship M gene on Deviljho with it), but Kirin can very very rarely have the L gene straight away after you hatch it
Okay i finished my list about how much each monstie heals with "soothing song". For this I looked how much they healed at level one, since it was easier that way to put them in categories. From what I saw there are 8 categories of healers and I called them like this: 1. Really good 2. Good 3. Enough 4. Middle 5. Not good 6. Bad 7. Really bad 8. Garbage For example both Qurupeco and both Kecha Wacha are on second place. They healed 16 hp on level 1. Kirin is the only one which is actually in first place and thus the only one in the really good category. It healed 36 hp on level one, which makes it the best healer by a long shot. Barioth and Garuga (about which I talked about in my previous comment) are not that good. Barioth is in the middle category with 12 healing on level 1 and Garuga is even in the garbage category with just 4 healing on level 1. The list would be pretty long to just right it down in a comment so just ask me if you want to know where wich monster stands. Except if enough people want me to wright the list down.
snailgirl6 silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian are interesting, since they are two categories better then their two other counterparts. Silver Rathalos sits in the middle category with a base healing of 12 on level 1(but it was not consistent, it tendered between 12;11 and 10 Gold Rathian is in the enough category with a base healing of 14 on level 1. In my opinion it is the best healer in its category, since it has enough bulk to fight with.

I also found out, that if you use the charm that increases the chance of rare monster to appear, you can find a lot of Kirins in the great tree next to the ruins of Redan. There you can force them to retreat to its nest, but the chance of this happening, even if you use the rathian armor use a paintball and put it to sleep, the chance to make it retreat to its den are still really low, but I got at least 4 eggs in half an hour with that.
I replied to someone else in the comments about this method, that is why I didn't even suggest it because you aren't guaranteed eggs, whereas with this method you are. Plus the fight takes time and you have to be strong enough. Personally I prefer the method I suggested but each to their own.

I FINALLY got a Kirin thanks to this Video! :D However, mine's a funny story indeed. I had tried Monsonne Plains first to see if I could get me a Kirin, though it was a bust (I did get a pretty awesome Zinogre with some great stats, though!), even though all of the dens, both rare and high-rank (except for one) were the forest one. Then, I saw some others saying that you could also get Kirin at Perennial Pass, so I thought I'd try there, as one time before when I was hunting for a rare monster, though I forgot which one it was, I had gotten lucky in one of the rare dens there, so I headed there next, as my Rare Dens Charm was still going. The first three dens I had gotten I wasn't lucky, so I went and hatched what I got before returning to Perennial Pass. Now, here's where things got interesting. I headed into a den, which was a Rare Den but not a Rare HIGH-RANK Den, so I knew I'd likely not get a Kirin there. Then I get to the Egg Nest and are met by a Low-Rank Pink Rathian... My hopes for getting a Kirin were dashed, but I used a Smoke Bomb to escape (did NOT want to deal with a Pink Rathian, even a low-rank one, while trying to find a Kirin egg). Afterwards, I searched then nest, and after two really good eggs, Navi's nose started tingling, and there in my hands was indeed the rare Kirin Egg I'd been hunting for... in a low-rank RARE DEN no less... and it only took me 25 mins to find on Perennial Pass... With the help of a Pink Rathian in the nest, that is. Also, you have earned yourself a new sub thanks to this, GGK! :D
Like any glass canon monstie you can help them out by giving them decent genes and having good support items. This is why I wanted to give my Kirin the ability to paralyze and blind so that that's two moves that can stop my opponents from attacking.
My personal technique is from only raiding golden nests in the plains and blossom row with a finding charm active. I've certainly gotten kirin from the desert buts it's not as common as the jungle nests!!!!
thank you for the awesome guide, was able to get 6 kirin eggs with 1 finding charms, no save/load. 2 of em were from low rank rare den and 2 from the desert cave too i guess its kinda random
Thank you GGK, I didn't get my Kirin the first time I used the Charm, but I did get a Barioth, Stygian Zinogre and also a Seregios! I got a Kirin the second time I used the charm tho!

I managed to get a good smelling really heavy kirin egg. I named it tamira after a horse i have in real life. Perfect kirin ftw! "NYAAA! This egg gets my nose twitching! Its also really heavy!"
Even I'm late comment I would like to say kirin is A on Speed B on Attack A on Skills C on durability or stamina or Hp A on damage So pretty much kirin is OP
If u want to get kirin easier go to the great tree past the ruins of redan using the charm that increases rare monster so go to the tree where you usually find congalangala.. And if u want a green narga use querupeco in the plains.
Following your tutorial, I found 3 Kirin eggs (and possibly another another, but I lost all hearts against the Kirin). I also managed to find a Kirin egg in the desert looking areas, so I can confirm that is possible
Hey GadgetGirlKiley :-) is there a way to get teostra egg or any other elder dragon eggs in the game? If not then idk if they have the egg dlc for then to be coming in English, then the Japanese dlc. So hope they have one in English dlc.
Hey GGK remember my rant on Kirin.....?(LOL) Guess what, I have found a way to get Kirin egg 100% without charms or high rank gold den. It requires killing ahahaha. Whatcha need: 1. Monsties able to tank and kill Kirin meaning high lightning resist high def and good attack power, recommend: lagiacrus (make it fire type water works fine too) or black gravis( with high lightning resist and strong fire atk skills). 2. Qurupeco for monsters call, pink, regular, gold or silver rathain armor for den, paint ball and a sword n shield with lightning guard. 3. Warp to Ruins of Redan. 4. Go straight north where the hero soul shines and take the left path. Don't take the path to the labyrinth trail. 5. You should be at the base of the tree. A cat warper should be on the left and either zinorge or crimson qurupeco in your sight. *Up to you if you want to kill it.* 6. Go to the first vines just a little up b4 the two pink garalala(do note* if you did use charms the two pink garalala will be replace to HR Kirin 90 to 95% of the time). Use qurupeco's call until u get Kirin.(always HR Kirin on my game no more normal) Also make sure your monsties are high enough so you can run from the other monsters 90% of the time. No need for smoke. ( LvL recommended around 60-70ish). Calling might take a bit of time cause of RNG so sometime u might get it on the first call or the 10th+ call. (Mine average around 5 to 15 calls and, if the call lagged a bit then it's Kirin). 7. Bring Kirin hp down to around 40% or lower. (Depending on your monsties damage, any higher then 800+ damage stop at 40% and lower damage stop at 15-20%) Throw paint ball and kill it on the LAST THIRD TURN. Kirin should get up( if u did it right meaning throw paint next turn 1 next turn 2 next turn 3 kill it) and run to it's den. Find the den...... Sonic Boom Kirin's egg. Happy farming and Praise the Sun \[T]/..... wrong game ^__^ Edit: I guess people already mentioned about this area...lol oh well happy hunting
I just did the method you said to get the high rank rare den to spawn. The very 1st den I go to had a zinogre at the nest, I ran from it, I went to the nest the Very 1st egg I pulled was a whisker twitching and very heavy kirin egg. bad thing is it din't have the kinship gene.
So I only recently got the game, part of the hype over the sequel announcement. Got high rank unlocked, decided to try the dens in Perennial Pass, two high rank rare dens and no egg. Go into a normal rare den, fight a normal pink Rathian, pick up two eggs that are meh...And then there it was. Third egg, third den, and it’s perfect 👌
I just used the Tracking Charm, went to the Ruins of Raden, kept slaying Kirin and spamming Painballs until I got one to retreat. And lost a lot of hearts... But it was worth it, I guess...
I've found some elder dragon egg fragments in different colours. Should I stick to the same colour of egg fragment for a higher chance to hatch a Kirin?

Just got a Kirin egg and it wasn't even in a high rank monster den! Talk about being lucky! It had eight slots but I had a universal stim so I was able to add another empty slot to genes! I named it Zapdos! Should be fun to raising this monstie!

I've discovered that there is actually better chances to farm the Kirin Egg in Perennial Pass (Blossom Row). You have zero chance of getting a Desert map and the monster pool is smaller.

I can say with 100% certainty, that kirin eggs are obtainable from desert areas. I got a kirin egg from a low rank rare desert den. I hope this helps some people.
I actually found a kirin egg inside the cave interior and it had the den protector gene :) it must of been my lucky day Xd it was a yellow egg with blue star
Hey is High Rank only available after beating the game??? Because I heard that some where don't remenber but Im at the kirin in rainforest part and I already have rarety 7 monsties. I don't know how this works...
Rui André Ribeiro maybe you do, but you CAN get monsties before you can put them into your party. (Black Diablos, im looking at you, because you did this to me)
JOe Bloggs that brings up a funny story I have about Black Diablos. I used a Qurupeco to call early in the game before the blighted Diablos fight in the desert and i got one the first try. I shit my pants and though i was gonna get rekt. Then, i laughed my ass off when Savage Roar did nothing to my level 11-10 rathian (NOT pink) and missed my rider entirely. the Rathian then roared one last time (i gave it Khezu genes if you re wondering), and then we killed it while it was downed.
Qurupeco calling in Monsonne Plains, looking for Rathian (to upgrade armor), found 2 Kirins, both high rank and both able to kill my Seregios(lvl 35) /Crimson Qurupeco(lvl 50) Didnt find a Rathian
i used 10 finding charms already. I teleport between dovan vulcano and blossom row trying to get rajang and teostra but all I am finiding is kirins! I got attacked by teostras in the den several times already but i didnt see a single teostra egg or a rajang egg. Just several of kirin eggs. T_T Kirins love me too much, i cant get anything else ot i have horrible luck
I disagree about that way being faster. That way is only faster IF you are strong enough to beat Kirin and get it to go and create a den. Most reports i've read said you need to be strong to beat it so most people might not be ready right after the story ends to use that method. That also doesn't guarantee you it will flee even with using the Rathian armour, paintball and whatever requirement it takes to increase the chance. Even doing all that doesn't give you 100% chance to get it to flee and make a den. When you factor all that in, doing the High Rank Den method is faster since you are ALWAYS guaranteed eggs, it's just a case of saving before going in the den and then searching, plus you don't have to fight the monster and pray to the RNG Gods that it flees for a nest.
Wait. If Kirin is a natural healer and the Kirin gene gives healing efficiency up (if that is really connected), then this does mean that Garuga anf Barioth are also natural healers, since their genes for finishing blow and Ice cyclone also give healing efficiency up. I gotta test that out now.
Hi kylie, i have found out that we have more chances to found a kirin egg in the upper part of the Monsone planes near the bridge that connects to the rainforest.
Is it too much to add the Den Protector gene(Healing Efficacy Up+4 and a non pvp skill) with Soul Kinship (L)(+4) & Thundercall(+3) & Soothing Song(+4) for a total of +15 Healing Efficacy at the cost of 1 slot?
Ehh, Kirin was fairly good, but it's lack of HP made it feel like a crap deal. I'll stick with Ivory Lagiacrus for my Thunder Monstie. Good Old Gigavolt got me through so much crap. I got mine with Egg Fragments. And I never really used healing moves for Monsties. They're usually quite slow, so it's a bit safer to toss a potion when it's much more likely to get the heal in before some dickish Baggi Combo or LITERALLY ANYTHING RAJANG USES does me in again.
Oh by the way it took me to get that touring again sorry if I butcher anything nothing will save I didn’t have to reset the game not want to get it so I’m consider myself very lucky

You can, IN FACT, get a Kirin Egg from a Desert Den. I got one a few days ago, it had a sleeping kirin in it too.

Personally I found it worse in Blossom Row, since less Golden dens appeared there for me. So far the plains has been the easiest spot.

Yeah, Desert won't get you Kirin at all. The Kirin fight is in the forest. So, you definitely want a Forest HR/HR Rare Den.

Everyone says Kirin is too much of a glass cannon, but I have a Kirin named Dan Avidan and I plan on making this monstie a beast.

2. Qurupeco for monsters call, pink, regular, gold or silver rathain armor for den, paint ball and a sword n shield with lightning guard.
3. Warp to Ruins of Redan.
4. Go straight north where the hero soul shines and take the left path. Don't take the path to the labyrinth trail.
5. You should be at the base of the tree. A cat warper should be on the left and either zinorge or crimson qurupeco in your sight. *Up to you if you want to kill it.*
6. Go to the first vines just a little up b4 the two pink garalala(do note* if you did use charms the two pink garalala will be replace to HR Kirin 90 to 95% of the time). Use qurupeco's call until u get Kirin.(always HR Kirin on my game no more normal) Also make sure your monsties are high enough so you can run from the other monsters 90% of the time. No need for smoke. ( LvL recommended around 60-70ish). Calling might take a bit of time cause of RNG so sometime u might get it on the first call or the 10th+ call. (Mine average around 5 to 15 calls and, if the call lagged a bit then it's Kirin).
7. Bring Kirin hp down to around 40% or lower. (Depending on your monsties damage, any higher then 800+ damage stop at 40% and lower damage stop at 15-20%) Throw paint ball and kill it on the LAST THIRD TURN. Kirin should get up( if u did it right meaning throw paint next turn 1 next turn 2 next turn 3 kill it) and run to it's den. Find the den...... Sonic Boom Kirin's egg.

I just did the method you said to get the high rank rare den to spawn. The very 1st den I go to had a zinogre at the nest, I ran from it, I went to the nest the Very 1st egg I pulled was a whisker twitching and very heavy kirin egg. bad thing is it din't have the kinship gene.
So I only recently got the game, part of the hype over the sequel announcement. Got high rank unlocked, decided to try the dens in Perennial Pass, two high rank rare dens and no egg. Go into a normal rare den, fight a normal pink Rathian, pick up two eggs that are meh...And then there it was. Third egg, third den, and it’s perfect 👌
I just used the Tracking Charm, went to the Ruins of Raden, kept slaying Kirin and spamming Painballs until I got one to retreat.
And lost a lot of hearts...
But it was worth it, I guess...
Does anyone know how to farm finding charms
I've found some elder dragon egg fragments in different colours. Should I stick to the same colour of egg fragment for a higher chance to hatch a Kirin?

Just got a Kirin egg and it wasn't even in a high rank monster den! Talk about being lucky! It had eight slots but I had a universal stim so I was able to add another empty slot to genes! I named it Zapdos! Should be fun to raising this monstie!

I've discovered that there is actually better chances to farm the Kirin Egg in Perennial Pass (Blossom Row). You have zero chance of getting a Desert map and the monster pool is smaller.

I can say with 100% certainty, that kirin eggs are obtainable from desert areas. I got a kirin egg from a low rank rare desert den. I hope this helps some people.
I actually found a kirin egg inside the cave interior and it had the den protector gene :) it must of been my lucky day Xd it was a yellow egg with blue star

Rui André Ribeiro maybe you do, but you CAN get monsties before you can put them into your party. (Black Diablos, im looking at you, because you did this to me)
Yes high rank is only post game and you will often get monsties that are too high for you in rarity to use until you progress the game.

JOe Bloggs that brings up a funny story I have about Black Diablos.
I used a Qurupeco to call early in the game before the blighted Diablos fight in the desert and i got one the first try. I shit my pants and though i was gonna get rekt. Then, i laughed my ass off when Savage Roar did nothing to my level 11-10 rathian (NOT pink) and missed my rider entirely. the Rathian then roared one last time (i gave it Khezu genes if you re wondering), and then we killed it while it was downed.
Qurupeco calling in Monsonne Plains, looking for Rathian (to upgrade armor), found 2 Kirins, both high rank and both able to kill my Seregios(lvl 35) /Crimson Qurupeco(lvl 50)

i used 10 finding charms already. I teleport between dovan vulcano and blossom row trying to get rajang and teostra but all I am finiding is kirins! I got attacked by teostras in the den several times already but i didnt see a single teostra egg or a rajang egg. Just several of kirin eggs. T_T Kirins love me too much, i cant get anything else ot i have horrible luck

I disagree about that way being faster. That way is only faster IF you are strong enough to beat Kirin and get it to go and create a den. Most reports i've read said you need to be strong to beat it so most people might not be ready right after the story ends to use that method. That also doesn't guarantee you it will flee even with using the Rathian armour, paintball and whatever requirement it takes to increase the chance. Even doing all that doesn't give you 100% chance to get it to flee and make a den. When you factor all that in, doing the High Rank Den method is faster since you are ALWAYS guaranteed eggs, it's just a case of saving before going in the den and then searching, plus you don't have to fight the monster and pray to the RNG Gods that it flees for a nest.

Wait. If Kirin is a natural healer and the Kirin gene gives healing efficiency up (if that is really connected), then this does mean that Garuga anf Barioth are also natural healers, since their genes for finishing blow and Ice cyclone also give healing efficiency up. I gotta test that out now.
Yeah I noticed that aswell but I’m sticking with Kirin being my healer for now I think. I might make other healers aswell to test this more.

if u wanna be sneaky, press "B" while off your monster tu squat! worked for me and i finish the game
Hi kylie, i have found out that we have more chances to found a kirin egg in the upper part of the Monsone planes near the bridge that connects to the rainforest.

i have been farming kirin and i have getting better luck in the upper part of monsoon planes, just now have found another one and it was a rare den.
I've found most all of my kirin eggs outside of that area though so I think it's probably the same chance.
Wait you could get that I remember someone telling me you can't get elder dragon but it was long time ago... It's years since I played this game

Ehh, Kirin was fairly good, but it's lack of HP made it feel like a crap deal.
I'll stick with Ivory Lagiacrus for my Thunder Monstie. Good Old Gigavolt got me through so much crap.
I got mine with Egg Fragments.
And I never really used healing moves for Monsties. They're usually quite slow, so it's a bit safer to toss a potion when it's much more likely to get the heal in before some dickish Baggi Combo or LITERALLY ANYTHING RAJANG USES does me in again.
