How the church can be in control of this trial. The police who didn’t do their jobs. So bad that at least 3 people were murdered because they didn’t and they had the evidence. Their brother Adam called the police shortly after Charles murder and gave them the evidence and a guilty verdict on a silver platter and still nothing.

After they tried to kill Brandon, he packed up and took his children into hiding!! Smart move Brandon!! And he had just moved in his new house the day before he was almost killed. He said he had no idea how they found his address.

There’s something really off about Melanie. She’s really squeaking by the edge of guilt to my mind. She really let those kids down. I’m so glad her own kids have been removed from her clutches.
According to Audrey wassername, two of Melani’s own children were being called “dark” as well as JJ and Tylee.

I would normally never think it’s best for children to be separated from a parent but she literally abandoned her children for months and couldn’t have cared less about them, she was in a conspiracy to have Brandon murdered, and believed two of her kids were dark spirits and if there is one miracle in this sordid mess it’s that Brandon and all of his children made it out of this nightmare alive.
But Melanie was "dark" herself even In Chad's and Lori's list. In that sense Lori betrayed even her... and it was only matter of time...
I think Melanie DID do something wrong. She listened to testimony.
She was there with Alex when he killed JJ, so her husband , she said last time that I sow JJ ,Alex was carrying him and had the same pijamas that he had when they found him.
Her husband, too he was very upset about what he, presence that was reaching for Chad to receive a patriarchal blessing imagine the horror.

Why would the prosecution let her walk without testifying
They must not need her testimony or it could be bad for prosecution are the only reasons. It's just a game of chess and people are lawyers pawns.
They didn't want to give the defense an opening to challenge her on cross examination for violating the subpoena. It wasn't worth it to them.
They don't need her anymore. Their case is strong enough without her.
Because she's connected to politicians in the same cult protecting her as much as possible to protect themselves being exposed. It's corruption. It isn't hard to put together.
If David was able to listen to 40 minutes of his wife Melanie G’s testimony and still testify, why would Melaniece get to avoid testifying? Is it about pleading the fifth?

If she implicates herself while testifying, I don’t think the prosecutor is allowed to use anything she says (as a witness) against her(Melanie P). So, when prosecutor learned that Melanie P. was involved in these crimes, they are probably going to charge her and did not want her to make statements that would then be excluded in her(Melanie P’s) prosecution. At least I think that is the rule.
She should be held in contempt and charged with conspiring to kill Brandon. She did say she would rather go to jail than testify against Lori. This trial is turning into a joke.

I don’t think the trial is a joke at all. The prosecution has done an amazing job. Melanie’s actions have nothing to do with the legitimacy of the trial or the court. She is just an idiot.
If the state made her a deal but she doesn’t go on the stand does that null and void her deal ?? And than she can be punished for what she did to aid this crime ????

He hired a private detective who saw Alex & Melaniece dumping children’s belongings at random curbside spots.
He also had her “trepassed” from his property a day or so before the bodycam video.
He understood the nature of what had happened to Charles: and when he was shot at, he immediately also understood that Tylee’s car (a present from Charles) was no longer owned & operated by Tylee. This sparked the search for her as a potential victim.

What is the world is going on with all the witnesses consuming media?!? I avoided it like the plague when I was a juror & my cases were small, I even told people that didn't know I was serving not to talk about news. LAST thing I wanted was to screw it up for all the hard-working court personnel.

Wait, why didn't the prosecutors anticipate this? How easy is it to get out of testifying just by watching other testimonies. Melanie should have gone before Ian, but hindsight is 20/20. Interesting that MP did not testify, but is still under subpoena. If she was going to be charged with anything, would that prevent the Prosecutor from having her testify? New evidence implicating her? She was next door when JJ probably was murdered, at least I think I remember that she was?? Considering the progression of the Prosecutors' case it seemed like her testimony was happening near the end. A mystery...

Previous to the trial I really thought Chad was the ring leader- the crazy one taking her down the crazy path… but there is no trail of death in Chads life previous to Lori. Chad had a calm life previous to Lori - but her past is checkered!! Look at the changes he made, weight loss and hair cuts etc… he was the one bending to her whims

Nate isn’t stupid and he wasn’t played. He’s reporting what her attorney said. Her attorney making a statement is a reportable fact. Durp. It doesn’t mean Nate doesn’t have suspicions about whether or not Melani intentionally made herself unable to testify. And holding Melani in contempt is not Nate’s job, so no, he wasn’t played.
Obviously, Melanie P is still under the influence of Lordi and Chug.... she disqualified herself on purpose.
Having said that, QUESTION Nate- do you know if Idaho allows for her to be called anyway and the Prosecutor treat her as a "Hostile Witness" or is California the only state that does that?

While it would be foolish to take any biased attorney's word for total face value, it's better to hear that side's take on it than not hear it. Nate revealed his relationship to this attorney, which was what a good reporter does. And then, as viewer, you can take what you can from it.

So it worked then. She got to avoid testifying. If they sent her home then it’s clear they won’t be asking her to fly all the way back at literally a moments notice. Kind of disappointed in Nate for making this out to be something else because of a friend.

Had Brandon not protect his kids they would have met the same fate as JJ and Tylee. He would have also for the big insurance payout.

Did Brandon say if he had life insurance? His children would have been awarded a lump sum then, if he had died? That's why Tylee had a sum of money after her father died isn't it? However, the way this case is moving on, it looks highly likely that Lori and Alex orchestrated Joe Ryan's demise.

I do this every day and it is delightful. Please tell her how much I enjoy her interviews and how much they brighten my days.

The fact that they grilled Ian about Melanie-niece’s violation of court order, is probably why she was not called. Also, clever move on Melanie-niece’s part so she doesn’t have to testify against the one person she claims is her mother figure and idol. Defense will not call her as they believe she violated court order. She got off clean without having to testify.

So…just ASK the voice’s owners if that’s their voice on the tape!! Of the ones mentioned, Ian, Meloniece, Melony G, Zulema, and others are available to answer questions. Except for id of Chad and Lori (who would/could lie and/or make up who-knows-what stories) they could easily be identified by sound of their voice. I just don’t understand the reasoning used to exclude the audio!
I’m guessing the prosecution does not want Lori’s position on the table without her taking the stand and opening herself up to cross examination. The defense seems to be leaning into the position that Lori was deceived by Chad and was a pawn. It’s about the only chance she has although a slim one.
Exactly. It's a double edged sword. Allowing her podcast with Lori and the taping her voice is cherry picked. The jury gets to hear her without her being questioned. Defense made a point by calling those witnesses, it allows them to bring it into evidence and Lori will never be cross examined
