  • It is common knowledge that the healthcare system does not work for Kenyans, and yet we are told that it is run by the "best and the brightest." What could explain this state of affairs? Atieno Jalang'o walks us through the issues with education, training, and public perceptions of medical treatment, all of which are burdened by misconceptions from our colonial baggage. She also gives great insights on extending our views of health beyond healing physical ailments to leading a wholesome life.

I feel like this also speaks to the kind of 'hustle' culture that young men are bombarded with nowadays. We hear things like 'every extra minute you spend resting is a minute someone is spending outworking you' and so no.

I wish we had 100 Dr. Atienos. We would have better health outcomes.

This is a very important conversation. Thank you Atieno and Wandia.
Today, much of our ill health is self generated. Through eating wrong. Moving wrong. Feeling wrong.
We basically make ourselves sick. Which means we can make ourselves well. Through treating ourselves better. 🙏🏿

Thanks, Wandia and Atieno! It is always a great reminder that health is truly our wealth and there is no better time than today to reevaluate what we ingest both physically and mentally.
