First off, thank you. I would say they are pretty different in their desines. One is nice for smaller streams/bushwacking/and all around portability, and the other is nice for solo fishing, longer reach, and acts as a wading aid. For my style of fishing I would choose the Mid-Length every time! Fishpond's line of product are all designed very well together. The Summit Sling in particular makes it very easy to hold the rod. I think it would be less difficult due to the length of net and the leverage it creates. Is it the texture of the net that is causing the difficulty? Or just the size? There are several other options in this series. Give us a ring and we can chat about it (970)-498-8968
