when I wear t-shirts and sweatshirts I like monochrome colours which can be styled in multiple ways. If there's a logo or graphics on it I preferably like it minimal and not too flashy.
Estela Andreetta this is exactly the kind of thing I was going to put!
yesss minimal all the way. i hate it when things are too obvious
Estela Andreetta yes what she said
exactly the same!
Estela Andreetta me too!
Oversized sweatshirts esp. With baggy-er arms, super comfy! And baggy t shirts too really...but just anything without a really tight neck xx
I feel like designed notebooks are amazing to release as a merch, especially they have a design but not so many youtubers do them as a merch so it will be special
Great idea! Or make a really 'aesthetically pleasing' bullet journal, I would love it.
Blimey, this is awfully relevant. I am on a gap year, so my first time not being in school for 14 years. I know I am learning! I can cook now, I can budget, I am living with my nan and learning how to be a carer, I have a new job too. I am living and seemingly progressing... but without a grade or someone telling me I am doing okay I feel so stagnant. I think I have been institutionalised, nothing feels like an achievement. I know uni will satisfy this, and then a career in the army, but when that comes to an end I will be aimless and stagnant again. Lol help
i know its easier said than done but just try and enjoy being free! uni is great and (sounds cliche) but it transforms your life so just treat this as some you time to figure things out and have head-space before uni craziness kicks in aha hope this helps a lil bit x
My answer to this is usually journaling/bullet journaling (definitely not perfect at it) so you have a visual of the goals you're achieving. It's a good place to start at least
I like somewhat fitted, cropped t-shirts (quite similar to the one's you showed in your wardrobe tour). I like quite muted blue and grey tones and small designs, like a drawing on the pocket or embroidery around the neckline. With jumpers I like oversized, mainly block black or white coloured with fun/funky fairly large printed designs. The main thing I look for is softness/fluffiness!
Grace A.H.S YES!!
Hi Luce! I pretty much only wear baggy T-shirts. The closest thing I can refer you to is the fit of the t-shirts Stay Home Club uses (I know they used to use American Apparel Big T’s).
Soft, airy, slim fitting tshirts with baggy sleeves are so hard to find, but so awesome! Oversized, sweaters that don't poof at the bottom are also essential.
For the merch: I like tshirts with minimal/small graphics so I can wear them casually and to the office in a bit more put together outfit (like with a skirt or some nice formal trousers). With sweatshirts I'm a bit more comfortable with a more casual print but I still usually only go for the minimal ones. I very rarely buy either of these items with prints or extremely bright colours, just because I like them to be versatile pieces that I can style with the rest of my wardrobe.
stipey. if lucy doesn't do stripey t-shirts then, pray tell, what's the hecking point
actually stripey with contrasted collar and a little embroidered moon
thank me later
YES
Miriam Uh, these sound amazing! 🙈 And whe'd need one with some special neck.
+
THIS IS PERFECT
Miriam this sounds so good!! i do believe brandy melville kinda sell this already though... otherwise it'd be really cool!
I needed this. I'm turning 25 this month and all I can think about is figuring out a way to be more financially stable and to be able to work on all the things I want to work on. And I absolutely feel like I'm not making progress and that it's taking longer than I want it to. Thank you for this video
This video couldn't have come at a better time. I've felt like this recently as I've been trying to improve my grades for my GCSEs and even though I've been staying behind for an hour every night and going to school for 4 hrs on a Saturday every week I've really not improved, if anything I've gone backwards. All the effort im putting in isnt going anywhere. It's good to know that people know the struggle xxx
Chloe Jennings Oftentimes with learning, it can come more as a sudden, big improvement rather than a gradual improvement. Like, you go from not really understanding a lot to suddenly everything becoming a lot clearer. Hang in there; your work WILL pay off one day! ❤️
Neutral colors, usually leaning towards the darker side, semi loose, soft, and usually paired with boots and tights/fitted trousers. Sometimes if they’re tees, I’ll pair them with a cardigan and wedge sandals. Overall just comfy and artsy! ✨ and omg I relate to this so much. I’m at uni studying music education and opera performance, music is all I have and I pour my heart into it, I practice for hours on end, and I’m just feeling this intensely burnt out sensation because I’m not progressing. I’m doing quite well, not failing, just doesn’t feel like I’m going anywhere. This actually helped me a bit I think, pushing through and realizing my role in the universe might just be what I need. Thanks Lucy, can’t wait for your merch 💜
I like over sizes stuff and I prefer sweatshirts without hoods and nice puffy sleeves with a worn in look xxxx💕💕
I'm definitely currently in the "getting interviews but not getting the job" funk right now so it was really refreshing to watch this. Thanks for that.
Ughhh I love listening to Lucy while being all cozy in bed drawing or something.
I love this video so much. For me this year was full of stagnation and even stepping backwards in a lot of instances, then all of a sudden, this switch flipped. I truly do think it's time, and thinking optimistically even when you feel like nothing is working.
Also, in regards to the merch (which I'm so bloody excited for) - I love a good oversized tshirt with minimal graphics and not too high of a neck.
I like soft loose sweatshirts that I can wear with leggings
On merch: what I first thought when you said you are thinking of releasing merch I immediately thought of the style Nathan and Savannah’s merch (as in not branded with their names or faces or anything, but as their creations). I would love to wear a Lucy Moon creation more than Lucy Moon merch if that makes sense? When it comes to sweaters, I love hoodies that are oversized and loose that I can wear when I’m being lazy. On tshirts, I love something I can tuck into jeans or wear under a denim jacket. ✨
I feel like the perf merch from you would be just a regular tshirt with folded sleeves and a minimalist print lol.
The fact that you make a video regarding certain topics at the right exact time I (we) need it. I love you so much, thanks for existing.
Sweatshirts with a neckline so you can wear t shirts underneath and t shirts casual boat neck and big sleeves. Just like comfy and cosy, minimalist style :) hope this helps
This is so important and relatable. It can be really disappointing when you constantly put so much time and effort into something hoping for things to change for the better but it just keeps being the same and never seems to change...
This is really interesting because I feel like I'm in a similar situation as well when it comes to school and relationships, or even making videos. It's all good, but not really progressing... Anyway great video! I was really jealous watching you use all of those glossier products since I can't get my hands on most of them haha xx
I feel the same way, but to be fair I think, from an outside perspective anyway, you are really progressing and growing in the way that you make your videos. I honestly love them, and you 💕
Omg! Sameee! And also I sub to you and keep seeing your comments on other faves of mine ! Xx
About a movie im seeing you everywhere and just subscribed lol, youre my same age and your videos are pretty cool
About a movie samee i was soo jealous 😂
I feel like white would be a great color for your merch but personally i can't do white because i spill alot... idk quite what you mean by how i wear shirts and sweatshirts.... i prefer tshirts that aren't that boxy shape? More fitted i suppose? Sweatshirts gotta be soft, only request😂😂😂 sorry this probably isn't much help
It's so comforting to have someone vocalise how I've been feeling during my third year of uni, thank you for making this video xx
A slightly baggier v-neck t shirt tucked into high-waisted black jeans is always my go-to. My only hard no with t-shirts is a high crew neck cut
I feel the same way with my English. Just learning and learning, watching tons of youtube videos in English, reading books in English, listening to podcasts, etc. and still this feeling of stagnation and not making ANY progress. Thanks for this video, it's really motivational to hear that somebody feels the same way and tries to cope with it.Thank you!
I wear t shirts almost everyday. I wear them with jeans, leggings, wrap skirts, etc. Since its basically all I wear I like it to have personality and show off something I'm into. Like a secret club! Haha I just recently got into wearing sweatshirts. I wear them with leggings and I like them to be comfortable enough to sleep in but nice enough to wear out and about. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for this! Honestly it’s just so weirdly nice and comforting to know that people are feeling the same way, even people who you might think never feel that way.
I love graphic Ts/ Ts with logos that r minimal and subtle , I usually cut tops into crop tops or tie them up in a knot to shorten them but also like over sized baggy stuff. I like monochrome and either go for basic colours (white, grey) or bright colours like yellow and pink in warm hues but I usually avoid things with all over patterns I LOVE UR STYLE AND EVERYTHING U WEAR IM SO EXCITED
I felt like this for a couple years, watching my friends move overseas and get awesome jobs as I stayed in the same job, but recently I myself got an incredible job - because of all the slow hard work I had done, sticking true to myself and continuing on. So imo you're on the right path!
t shirts with not strangling-ly high necklines... 😂
yes I agree!
Elanor Grace YES those are the most annoying
yes!
Though been recently appreciating for ballet when we have to bend over and stuff :p
I love crop tops, really long light and flowy tops and off the shoulder tops. Oversized soft and cosy sweatshirts are amazing aswell😊😊
i usually wear my shirts tucked in above my waist
I would have loved to see this video about 2 years ago and am very thankful it's out there now for folks who need it. Super relatable.
I like scoop neck tees crew neck jumpers. Definitely on the looser side 🙂
yes scoop neck or like anything that's not shapeless at least as an option. i always feel kinda gross and like im in PJs when i'm wearing typical unisex t shirts
When you talked about us being young and that we don't have to all figured out, I almost cried with relief. I'm 22 as well, and I feel like career wise I've always been going through the motions of what my parents wanted. I love them to pieces, but this-TH-cam-is my true passion. It ignites a fire in me, whereas my major does not. It, in fact, makes me miserable. It didn't used to, but with coding for 5 years now, you get sick of it. So to anyone reading this, I urge you to work hard and follow your passion :) Do something that leaves your mark on the world. Okay, rant over. *takes a deep breath of relief*
Sweatshirts in Fall w/ layers or scarfs etc on top. Tshirts maybe with some cardigans. I love those a little oversized Tshirts with a v-neck, those work great when you stick them in your pants in the front :3
“i can be the best in my own lane, instead of the worst in a bigger lane” i seriously needed to hear this, thanks for being so fricken relatable ♥️
Hi Lucy! I prefer to wear t shirts that have slightly longer sleeves and aren’t quite so close fitting. I’ll wear pretty much anything in the way of sweatshirts. I hope this was helpful!
personally i love stripey/minimalist shirts, kind of 80's style with a thick contrasting collar! Very much the kind of t-shirts that you yourself would wear in videos. I love shirts that can be worn with jeans or with skirts, not super fitted but not too baggy either - kind of like the ones you'd buy in pull and bear or h&m! Good luck with the merch lucy, thanks for being so genuine x this kind of video always makes me feel calm, we're young, we don't need to have everything figured out just yet.
plain white t shirts with cute design. loose and "boyish" fit, same for sweatshirts. would like to see hot pink!! very excited for tour merch! 💗
i love it when the shirt itself is comfortable baggy, so you can tuck it into your trousers and when the sleeves are a little bit longer than on a usual tshirt and more tight.
Maybe with a embroidery/print of the phases of the moon? x
Lilly May YES OMG
i just wanted to say thank you for making this vid, i've been in a funk, espesscaily since its my last year in high school! personally for merch i love a good crew neck jumper, as well as a quarter zip jumper. (people can buy larger sizes if they want baggy), i think something that isn't to like, "lucy moon, lucy moon lucy moon", something that just has moons, something dainty. i also think socks and pins would be adorable. maybe even a moon sticker, to add on my computer. just some stuff i know i would want to buy if u made merch.
Stuff I like to wear: cosy sweaters with cool colors (like nathan’s yellow) and I like if it has a meaning like a little inside joke thing (again, like nathan’s).
Also oversized stuff with minimalistic design is great. I like muted and pastel colors the most
oversized sweatshirts!!! i find them cozy for winter days and cute and functional for summer nights! & i love wearing slightly too big t shirts tucked into a skirt or mom jeans - i feel like since its your branding, you'll go for neutrals, which i live for. cream, gray and white sweatshirts would be heaven to me.
I wear t-shirts and jumpers tucked into my jeans to give a controlled, slouchy kind of look. I typically buy things that are cut in a nice way that flatters my body and I rarely buy anything with print on it, but that's mostly because I can't find a print that I like. Most prints these days, especially ones that have text on them, are really cheesy and lame. If I'm going to wear a print I want it to be smart and different but flattering at the same time.
this video literally came at the perfect time for me! i typically wear thrifted/graphic tees, band shirts ect and some body con shirts/turtlenecks i can layer with. i love sweatshirts/jackets that have nothing on the front but some cool/jarring graphic design on the back that catches people's eye.
i don't wear t shirts bc i don't think they look good on me. but i would love a sweat shirt, it would have to be really comfy and oversized
Yeah t shirts don't look that good with a hijab, sweatshirts are good tho
i dont wear a hijab... thats my hair in the picture LOL
The fact that you actually managed to get through university is fantastic. I have no motivation whatsoever to study. How much I ever try to force or motivate myself, it just doesn't feel important enough to give a damn about.
I always tie my tshirt at the bottom in the middle. And crew neck sweaters with no zip. Prefer monochrome with simple logos x hope this helps xx
Definitely relate to not making enough progress towards my goals, but you said it how it is: You just have to keep going. I is a waste of time to dwell over your progress instead of using that time and energy to actually take steps forward. Even if those are tiny steps. Great video Lucy, keep it up!!!
t-shirt’s: cuffed sleeves. not cropped.
sweatshirts: long and big. i get like two sizes up and i’m normally a large.
Hey Lucy! I really related to just about everything you said in this video, but especially the frustration that comes with feeling like you're in a rut while watching the people around make more progress with their lives. It was so nice to feel understood and feel like there are other people who have these kinds of frustrations. Thanks a bunch!!!
i like really soft tee shirts, but not the kind that are super thin. i also like the ones where the back’s a little longer than the front.
hayat ♡ yes and I don't want her name and loo plastered all over it
For shirts/sweatshirts I love stuff that hangs well and is soft! So many people’s merch are like crisp which is annoying and sometimes the jumpers cling to below my tummy which is unflattering! Minimalist style is best too so I can pair it with stuff 💕
Pink, purple, and blue pastel and primary colours !!!!
i love loose fitting tshirts and cropped hoodies and sweatshirts, highly suggest checking out pull and bear's clothes because they're super cute and comfortable
(also minimalistic designs are my favourite !)
Hey Lucy, to be honest I only wear shirts by people I watch/listen to!
Also is it weird to be the opposite where you feel like everything is going too fast and you feel like you cant keep up?
This has been a challenge for me too, lately. Last year was awful for me in all sense of the word: mental health at an all time low, physical health lessening, many people in my family passed, end of long term romantic relationship, amongst other things. So, now that I’m past that year, and I’m working on my mental health, focusing on being happy in school and friendships and life, etc, I have all of these huge expectations about everything being big and beautiful and perfect already. But really, what the fuck is that big and beautiful and perfect thing I’m striving for? Who knows! Everyday I’m trying to remind myself that the big and beautiful and perfect thing is allowing myself to have the space to grow, blossom, try, fail, feel, cry, question, move.
Also Kayln Nicholson has an amazing inspirational channel for life tips if u want to progress :)
Lucy, I'm thirty one and this is the lesson you will always have to come back too. Always! It's doesn't ever go away.
something really minimal (lineart, clean lines; a smallish logo on the chest area or a quote) & modest (please at least one product hijabi-friendly would be great!!) colours-wise, monochrome and gray heather would be the easiest but loads of merch come in those colours- you could branch into other neutrals; taupes, mauves, off-whites, beech/sand colours since those fit in your channel aesthetic p well.
okay so about the video- i’m definitely familiar with this feeling. i’m always a 2:1, never a first- close with people, but never the best friend or girlfriend. also i just graduated this year and my job only starts later this month while everyone else started as early as september. feel like i’ve been stuck in limbo all the time. the things that have made me feel better: creating structure to my time (waking up early on weekdays, eating regularly, working out almost everyday) + completing things i’ve been putting off for years (finally took my driver’s license). hope everyone else feels better soon.
I LOVE JUMPERS! I wear them w jeans and honestly I have so many different ones, I can't pinpoint one common trait. I'm really into knit jumpers or thick super soft 80's/90's esque right now.
Tshirts for me are usually plain, in 'autumn' colours, red, green, black, charcoal, orange. I love a classic long sleeve w those little buttons. For short sleeve tops I usually get baggy ones and tuck them in the front. Long sleeve tops I wear tight fitting with a cardigan.
What matters most for me is softness.
I wear long sweaters up to my mid thigh with thigh high boots😻
I wear basic colours for t shirts such as white or light grey or nude pink, and wear them striped also. For sweatshirts I wear baby pink, light grey or cream -- definitely oversized. Embroidered logos would be super cute as well
Put “you’re the best in your own lane” on a notebook or something
Love this video, you literally took the words out of my mouth. I've been feeling like this for a while and never knew how to explain it properly, without everyone just saying don't compare yourself to others but I still feel like i'm not getting anywhere! Thankyou Lucy💗
one word: SOFT
So I'd really love to see "influencers" like you doing cool patch designs or enamel pins of even a big oversized soft sweater with an embroidered corner like above the chest below the shoulder. In terms of tshirts a design that looks beautiful and arty to people who don't watch but also a nod to your content for people who do watch because it can be a conversation starter. I like tshirts with lower necks and feminine cuts and it would be nice to have merch that spanned up to some bigger sizes as well.
Fantastic relantable and watchable video as always Lucy. I love videos were it feels like people are just thinking out loud and having a chat. It feels super cosy.
HOODIES
Hey Lucy, just wanted to say I really appreciate low-key chatty videos like this. These types of videos are part of the reason why I keep coming back for more :) Cheers
You are my feeling-good-channel. I love the honesty and cocooning/safe bubble character of your channel. I am sorry you feel like not making progress because I love the way you do things. Thank you
Ugh I feel this so much related to my mental health. I have anxiety, and I am struggling to understand that right now, while I am better, I am also not cured of my anxiety. And I never will be. That’s hard for me, as I am a terrible perfectionist and want every single thing to be perfect. I feel this is school too. Thank you for chatting about it, it really helps. Love ya Lucy.
Also, for your research, I tuck my t-shirts in and I wear very baggy large sweatshirts!
Thank you Lucy, I really needed this. I feel exactly like this considering my studies. This semester is really challanging, hard and I jhave had several breakdowns already because I am extremely overwhelmed. I feel like that my studying sessions are endless, I am studying a lot ALL THE TIME, and I am still far behind my studies and I see that others proceed well, at least I see it that way. So thank you really, I needed it ♥
I can relate so much to this video. Thank you so much for talking about this. I've often thought "maybe I should just give up" because I've been working on my blog for so many years now, and it's going at the slowest pace ever. But then I remember that I'm only 20, and I just have to keep on working and then if it's meant to be, it'll be one day.
I definitely know that feeling of feeling like you're putting all this effort in and not really getting anywhere. I feel it most in my friendships and it doesn't seem to matter what I do, it all works out the same and I wish I knew what it was that's holding things back.
I woke up at 4 AM this morning because I was so anxious about me not moving forward with university and work AND THIS WAS JUST POSTED 20 MINS AGO THANK GOD LUCY
It’s actually really crazy because I’ve been feeling like I’m going in circles. Metaphorically of course. I’m not moving forwards or backwards and I feel really stagnant. I don’t know where I’m going, or what I want to do, or literally anything about my life and it’s crazy that this is the first video I see today. I don’t believe in coincidences so thank you for making this video! It spoke to me and really helped me realize that I’m not alone and I don’t have to have it all figured out. I’ve just got to “trust in the process”
I like highneck, over sized comfy tees. I imagine you’d bring out the cutest astheaticly pleasing merch
personally the reason I don’t wear tons of merch is I don’t like to have a TH-camr’s brand all over me or whatever, but some of the merch I really like is Sarah Close’s, I love the minimalistic designs of some of them and the neutral colours, and I think it would really suit your aesthetic too! whatever you put out, I can’t wait to see it xx
Very much needed video at this time as I'm currently in the post grad slump & watching others around me thrive in the beginning of their careers. TRUST IN THE PROCESS. For tshirts, definitely a really worn in soft material is my favorite, and I like them a bit oversized to tuck into jeans
It's so good to hear that I'm not the only one who's feeling like I'm not making any progress. I try to get better grades and study way harder than before, but it still isn't hard enough, apparently 'cause none of the hard work is paying off at all and it's soo frustrating. Anyways, thank you so much for this video I really love it xx
A great video, as per usual! I love your channel, I feel like your timing of things is perfect. I'm in my final two weeks of my degree and then I'm out into the big wide world. My degree is a creative one and at the moment I don't feel passionate or even enthusiastic about what I'm doing or where I'm going. Being lethargic isn't fun but it's nice to know that everyone feels this way every now and then. Every little step forward is progress and is important. You just gotta keep swimming. Thanks for talking about this! xx
I love black t-shirt and sweatshirts mainly bc days can be v sweaty and it’s nice not to worry about stains and such lol. But comfy materials and baggier styles works wonderfully in whatever colours you prefer! 🖤
I love soft boatneck tees and sweaters that have some type of piece of interest, like a minimal line graphic or tiny words or something. Nothing too flashy, but soft and flattering.
I will buy anything you put out, you're great and you have great taste.
the types of t-shirts I like are either unisex general tees or a v-neck baggy light tee. As for sweaters I typically wear pullovers either with a hood or crew neck. I do have zip sweaters but I gravitate towards the pullovers. Excited to hear you are looking at merch! xx
With sweaters, I like either really dark colours like navy, or nice pastel colours with some minimalist font or design on the front!
I don't usually comment on TH-cam videos but I can't help but say GIRL OMG ME TOO. I love the fact that you are so honest with your audience because so many people have the same thoughts but not everyone is ready to express them. It's such a lonely feeling, and quite funny too when you think about how so many people may be feeling low about their progress and not telling anyone because they feel like they're the only one.
Regardless, I wanted to say that I've been watching you for about a year now, and you are one of my favourite TH-camrs (if not my favourite). You are so creative, intelligent, well-spoken, talented, honest and gorgeous too. I relate to so many of your videos and I love how each and every video has meaning to it. I've also learnt some cool life lessons from your content. I'm 20 now, and I hope I can grow into someone like you by the time I'm 22. Much love, keep making videos and doing you!
I just shared your blog post about brands/agencies and influencers on my socials and wow it's so relatable and relevant! Also so is this video. Literally everything I'm going through right now
I love white graphic tees that you know will look killer with blue mom jeans. For a slogan or logo try to keep it minimal and perhaps stick to a basic colour scheme aka red font on a white shirt and then perhaps a red sweatshirt with white font? Red looks empowering on most women which correlates with your brand! Being a very short and petite person I prefer to wear sweatshirts cropped as if you've cut them yourself but baggy is cute too especially coming up to winter. Good luck! I know you'll find your way just stay true to yourself xo
My first few months out of college, I had probably around 15 job interviews, was a finalist for about 10 of those jobs and never made the cut. It was DEVASTATING. I had lost all creative energy. All it took was channeling that angst into motivation and now, a year and a half later, I've got a dream job and in my favorite city too. All it really takes is time and avoiding complacency.
Love a good sweatshirt with jeans! Monochrome or pastel colours rock! Keep any like writing or designs in one colour!
i love that style of tshirts that are a bit cropped and have a knot at the front, and a sweater is always a good way to go💕 so excited! xx
I love soft t shirts with small print or little graphics. simple, monochromatic, did I say soft?! Also a baggy sweatshirt with a lot of room in the arms!! I also love socks :)
I have felt stuck/stagnant recently as well for a number of reasons. One of my best friends made the excellent point that I'm not actually stuck, I'm only stuck in these particular areas. I have grown and changed in the last year and those seemingly small bits of progress are setting me up to potentially achieve those larger goals.
I’m a fan of shirts that either hit around where high waisted pants go and I can gently tuck in the front or just tuck in completely. I like to roll the sleeves up a bit so they hang better. I’m a fan of stripy tees and ones with simple designs but I love embroidery on shirts omg, also love the ringer tee look with the sleep and collar color strip
i think about this a lot. i thought that i worked harder than a lot of people that had the position that i wanted. someone told me that it's like a duck. on the surface they look like they're floating, but below the surface they're kicking like crazy. it makes sense. you'll get to wherever you're supposed to be, i know it.
I like t shirt and sweatshirts pretty oversized i'd say. Also i prefer hoodies. Neutral colors are easier to wear but i like bright ones too, and logos/graphics have to be minimal or very "artsy". I'm so excited for your merch!
Love watching your videos. It makes me feel okay about myself and how I am doing. I am studying law and it’s taking me 1 years longer than my friends. But now I learned that’s okay. I will get there. Xxx
