Dunno if its just me associating it with a more innocent time in my life, but I long for great Australian groups like Deadstar to come out of the woodwork again. Lot of memories flood back of '99/2000 whenever I hear this!
There did seem to be a nice mix then of indie bands with really good pop sensibilities in that mid to late 90's era. Now however bands seem to be either straight up mainstream, shiny pop stuff, or more acquired indie stuff. It was nice when they crossed over....
@adorm Barry Palmer works (might even co-own) at the The Rock Garage down in Ferntree Gully. If you're local to Melbourne, you can go down and ask him to reform the band. I really loved "Don't It Get You Down" Great track.
I really enjoyed watching Carolyn Kennedy perform She looked like she was having so much fun. Such a great sound. Does anyone know if Carolyn went on to do any thing else after DeadStar?
