- The No. 4 Florida State Seminoles overcame an injury to star quarterback Jordan Travis and still beat North Alabama, 58-13, to improve to 11-0 on the season. The 'Noles fell behind 13-0 early and Travis left in the first quarter to be replaced by Tate Rodemaker. Rodemaker completed 13-23 passes for 217 yards with 2 touchdown passes in relief of Travis. Mike Norvell's team leaned on the running game as they racked up 248 yards on the ground and 5 rushing scores behind the running of Trey Benson, Lawrance Toafili, CJ Campbell Jr., Caziah Holmes, Samuel Singleton Jr., and Rodney Hill. The 'Noles defense held The Lions to 226 yards of total offense in the game.
Wow it hasnt totally sunken in yet but we've seen Travis' take the last snap he'll ever take as a Florida State Seminole. This season wasnt supposed to end like this and Im heartbroken for the kid. I cant imagine whats going through his head right now. He stayed back this season just to help us make a run at the Nat Championship + improve his draft stock, so I'm praying this young man's health/career are both wholey unaffected by this in the longterm. God Bless you Jordan Travis and thank you for everything you've done at our program. You were a class act and you deserve to be remembered amongst the likes of Jameis Winston, Charlie Ward, and Chris Weinke. Heisman trophy or not, you WERE one of the all around greatest quarterbacks in Florida State history. We love you, man.

Yeah, as a Bama fan I remember yall’s QB having that awful injury the last time we played when the game was outta reach. Sucks to see it happen to another Florida St QB after they’ve overcome basically everything (the losing season after being preseason #3 and all the underwhelming seasons since) that came after the before mentioned injury. Maybe even if Florida St drops one the committee will be smart enough to notice that yall have 5 wins against ranked teams, (tied most with Bama/some other team) and let Florida St still gets in the playoffs. Gonna need Kentucky to beat Louisville tho.

Man, I don’t think I’ve ever cried seeing a player go down like that. It’s stings knowing the adversity he has gone through throughout his career at Florida State and to FINALLY put us back on the MAP, this has too happen. Much respect for JT13. He doesn't have to try and fill anyone shoes except for his own, I think that we will be able to hold our own against anyone in the country. Just take what the defense gives us and get the ball into the hands of our play makers. I like our defense as well. Go Seminoles
What I like about Rodemaker is he plays confident, doesn't play scared, makes nice throws. Obviously doesn't have the legs and pocket awareness of Travis, but I've never doubted him. He's a solid backup.
@@LyndellHart I agree, but we must be honest the O-Line is inconsistent in both pass and run pro. FSU needs to get he ball out of our QB's hands quick and lean on the ability of Keon, Jaheim, J'khai and the RB's to get open in space quickly. Tate is not great in the pocket but he has the weapons around him that if he can get it out quick his arm strength will serve him well and prove him a bit more effective.
He is a deer in headlights. Just lower expectations, hope to win one of the final three games this year.

This highlights video had very few references to the quarter/time of the events shown and very few displays of the score, things that I find important to fully understand the reason for the play choices.
If the TV network didn't display it, it would be a bit much to ask a clip editor to figure out the game clock etc. This channel is clipping more games than this one.

It’s not the end of the world for FSU. Same thing happened to Ohio State in 2014 and they ended up winning it all with a backup QB. Now yes, they had Ezekiel Elliot but FSU have a lot of weapons too. It’s possible.
Ohio State had a ton of talent and several deep recruiting classes. FSU is just trying to be competitive again. Besides, even if FSU goes 13-0 they will not make the playoff.

Do it for JT13!! I'm sad it had to be JT going out like this, hopefully this FSU team can do it for 13, do for the 2013 team who won it all 10 years ago and do it for Jordan Travis #13. As a Nole fan on a positive note, these young QB's and receivers look good, they may not be ready yet but they are being developed well and it shows. Being thrown into a game is tough and even though UNA was a glorified scrimmage team, it's good to get them reps in a live game, that UNA team was not laying down, they had no where near the talent or depth to win but they wanted to inflict as much damage as possible and it showed in their play calling lol Good win for the Noles in terms of shaking off the sluggish start and putting together a good team blow--out victory on offense and defense.

Rodemaker is solid. He beat Louisville last year in a comeback. He’s played well when he’s been in. Is he as good as Travis? Obviously not. But he’s certainly good enough to take an already talented team at least to the playoffs. From there anything can happen

Rodemaker will be fine. He's a better passer than J.Trav if we are being honest. I like how he spreads the ball to everyone. The best part about the change teams aren't used to his style of play as QB. The team opens up into a spread offense more when Rodemaker is in the game.

These types of tackles (by No. 8) are worse than any targeting penalties they enforce --- Joe Theisman, Alex Smith, etc... the Defense rares - up and back pulls and forces all their weight on the lower leg.. of course there will be significant damage --- these types of tackles should be heavily penalized and enforced more than any targeting penalty

The JT injury sucks so bad man he’s done for the rest of the year and will likely leave for NFL after this season. JT is definitely a high second round pick IMO or late first. I don’t see why he’d come back and risk another injury or risk not looking nearly like himself, better to go get a check on what you’ve done this year and year before and the growth you’ve shown the last two years.
