    Just fantastic footage, and well narated, right up there with the best videos I have watched. I did the same trip as you although I cheated and used a motorbike! Loved every mile of the journey. Thanks for posting this video.

    Can't believe the negativity on some comments! So what if it is a commercial? Has this video not motivated you guys to go and do the same? I didn't even know the place and now I am going to visit it! Thanks Hannah and whoever else was involved in this.

      Likewise, I am now going to see if I can track down a GPX file of her ride, not being lazy, just want to keep the motivation going. I love getting GPX files and then looking at them on my computer, and looking at other routes I could combine etc.

    Never new you lived in Fort William Hannah , I use to rock climb and ice climb round Ben Nevis, myself and Angie we are doing LEJOG on fat bikes, after we've done that, we are heading to Inverness via train from Kirk then will decide to either get a train from Inverness to Fort William or ride there depending on the time of day, is there a good route to ride from Inverness to Fort William Hannah, trying to stay off the main roads, plus we are doing it unsupported, so we'll have our fat bikes fully kitted out. ... loving the vids and your dog is cool 👍

  • @matthewfrostmedia3286

    To those questioning the camera work, you really need to get with the times. There are drones, the most popular being the DJI models, that you can set to follow you and sweep around you, so there is no need for another person to film you. No helicopters were needed for the video shots from out at sea, it is all drone footage. Have a look at the link below to understand how it works.
    This is an awesome video, I am just hoping that the footage from the trip was edited by a professional editor, otherwise Hannah is in the wrong profession. It is a wonderful shot and edited piece. Some say it is an 'Advert' of which it may be, but if it doesn't give you the desire to get on your bike and follow in Hannah's tracks then I am struggling to understand what more you need to make you want to get out there and di it yourself

      Yeah thats obvious but if you`re really telling people this is done by herself I can't stop laughing. There is plenty of footage in this video which can't be done on your own. This is product placed self-made lookalike ad.

    • @saintuk70
      @saintuk70 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heb Way can be done on a road bike, obviously avoiding the walkers Heb Way. Touring bike totally fine and the roads are better than the mainland. Bikes on the ferries, no need for booking unless in a large group. Buy the Hopscotch ticket on the day, circa £35 , will get you from Oban to Ullapool.

    Shame, this is NOT the Heb Way. As Hannah says, enjoy the journey, the real journey. Heading off to do my third Heb Way in a weeks time, with a bit of the NC 500 thrown in. I don't expect areas of slow motion, out of sequence stretches of road etc.. Nice video though.

  • @alexanderlawson1649

    Ooter hebrideees, normal weather, 50mph wind, horizontal rain so heavy, u cant see the "beautiful" scenery, then the wind drops and u cant see the scenery for the midges, as they suck the last drops of blood from youre body, then theres the ticks and the hostile natives with bows and arrows, the fall traps filled with sharp sticks...........etc etc.

    bollox, this is a commercial....at no point is the bike dirty despite being offroad and on beaches, or the clothes other than pristine, who's filming it and carrying all her gear ? Totally devoid of reality.

    • @matthewfrostmedia3286
      @matthewfrostmedia3286 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really ? Since when do have you ridden off road in dry conditions, and come away with your bike covered in mud ? At 3mins 8secs there is a shot under her frame, and you can see some mud there, the amount I would expect considering the conditions of the terrain. Also any puddles that are seen, you can clearly see she avoids them. The beach shots, you can clearly see her tyres are covered in sand, again I'm struggling to understand what state you expect her bike to be in, given the riding terrain/conditions. As for filming I suspect it is a DJI drone, which will fit into her frame bag, and it will follow her at heights she tells it to. Modern technology means you can film stuff like this, on your own. Carrying all the gear, did you not see the part for the video where she took her tent out of the handlebar bag and put her stove back into her saddle bag ? I suspect you have never bike-trekked for a short 2-3 day trip ? Never used stuff sacks for clothes ? It is a wonderfully shot piece, showing the incredible terrain the journey gives you.

    I don't think you could have enjoyed the islands going at that speed. Slow down, smell the air, relax., take in the views. You looked like you had a train to catch. Gave no impression of, or insight into, the islands at all. It looked like a video about you, and how fast you could bike ride.

  • @alexmorgan3435
    @alexmorgan3435 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Beautiful landscape but riding along perhaps fragile walking paths is a bit irresponsible. If hundreds of cyclists turned up on gravel bikes to do this same route then it would quickly destroy the local flora. The Hebrides is a beautiful and relatively undamaged and fragile landscape. So mixed feelings on this video which was clearly a commercial. Would have been better to have stuck to actual tracks. There are plenty of other excellent videos that stick to the roads. I can't believe she carried so little for 3 days even if she wore the same clothes the WHOLE time. Stove, food, water and the rest. I suspect she ate from the Specialised RV support vehicle which the camera man and team were using. Bike must have been cleaned and polished for the start of every day. LoL.
