  • I use a dog rope so I can deploy my anchor from the side of my boat, and then pull the anchor warp to the front of the boat, and I also always use an Alderney Ring , to retrieve my anchor. This video shows you how I do this.
If you have any other ways of doing this please leave a comment

Great Demonstration of how to do this safely. 👏 Explaining the reasons why, which is very important to new or novice boat users.👍Thanks

I am a recent subscriber. I'm an Angler for 50 yrs plus, coarse, sea and game. Little sea boat handling experience though.
Wow your explanation and video was truly informative and interesting.
It would be helpful for me, if properly qualified/ experienced others could comment on your instruction....but nicely and constructively, otherwise idiots like me cannot learn!
    Well done sir!
    Thank you,

Awesome as ever chris. Was kinda wondering how i was going to do the rope from the front without having to scurry along a tightrope of a bow.

I actually dont know the rope diameter 10 to 15 mm i guess, my chain is heavier than it needs to be but it works. . it should be the length of your boat, and it has to be heavier than the anchor. Mine is probably a little short, but makes up by being heavy gauge.

@@rossturner8581 yes mate, without a doubt. Hardly ever had a problem with a Bruce, best to ask in your chandlery what is preferred in your area.
