Hi! Skarabee here. Maybe you've heard my demo track while opening Caustic for the first time, or played with some of my presets. I met Rej in New Caledonia some years ago, and I've been involved in all the Caustic adventure till the shutdown of the official site. Thank you for holding such a project. I'm not a coder, but if there is something I can help for, beta testing or sound design, just tell me.
Hey Old fella, man i am so glad to hear about you man.. You are very good sign for all thats heppening here.. My Name on SCS was Amel.. I was the one creating that super long mastering app testing thread.. Right. I hope you will stay here up until the end .Many Caustic Veterans will join..
@@juiceonthebeatzone5 This is my channel i just started it.. I have 100 songs all electronic genre to post here.. They are all made on Caustic 3.2 trough last few years.. A lot of my work has been forever lost on SCS site.. I wish we could get all those presets and files back at least...
I've never been so excited to find out someone is trying to save an app. Caustic has been one of the greatest creative resources I've ever had and I will never change my opinion on that.
Caustic used to be my favorite Android app by far. In my opinion there is something truly magical about it. I would spend hours making music with it on a daily basis. I was seriously obsessed with it back in the day. I was also active on the single cell software forums many years ago (my username used to be muskrat). What you're doing here is really admirable and I hope you can save Caustic. I'd also like to contribute to this project, but not exactly sure how. I can code, but I'm not familiar with the latest technologies.
Hi and thanks for the feedback! I agree on the magic of caustic, such an amazing achievement and such joy to fiddle with. I’ve been silent but there’s progress I’ll need to get my act together and post a new update this week. ;) cheers!
Just came here from Doug's video at The Sound Test Room that mentions you. Caustic was an app I nearly bought in my Android tablet days but went with FL Studio Mobile instead. It's sad when beloved apps get abandoned and I hope you manage to succeed with your efforts. I don't program or anything so I can only offer my support. 🙂
@@juiceonthebeatzone5 I wasn't willing to buy both as I was only using it to mess around at that time. I liked FLSM a lot so was very happy with it. I would have liked to try Caustic though.
Good luck with this, it’s a complex project you have embarked on. I haven’t watched all your videos but I would keep it as simple as you can to start with - build the framework but just aim to start with a basic app to start with, like one synth, a drum machine, mixer, couple of effects. If you can do this it would be a great achievement and then can be expanded on. I think as you say it’s worth learning Juce for this - it’s ideally designed for this type of project, has code for ADSR’s, filters, reverb etc included and most importantly can produce cross platform code.
I am not in any way, shape or form a developer and I'm so sad that I can't really help in this project, however your struggles are heard, and maybe you should look for help in communities such as reddit or somewhere where people are more knowledgeable about JUCE and other systems like that, I think they would be happy to help in such a project. Thank you for doing your best!
Hej!! This is looking very promising! I hope you get all the help you need. I’m not a coder but I do have with testing and development. If you need a tester shout at me!
Hi! Sending these videos kind of clears my head so it's obvious (again) that I should focus on architechure and documentation for this, and then people who actually know vue.js (including routing) would be great for the frontend, and for the backend, people knowing or wanting to learn C++ including CMake, portaudio, websockets servers etc. Thank you for your interest and stay tuned, things will become more clear soon. I fully agree, almost... Not sure about JUCE thouh. I want to build a vespa, not a tesla. ;)
This is such important work thank you.
