This is one thing I don’t like about this film. The girl should’ve been more understanding and listened to why the boy wanted to go to an American university, not hold him back. If neither of them can wait for each other, then they might not have been meant to be.
Most japanese shows + several films I've seen snippets off seem to show an incredibly prudish moralistic society with absurd group pressure and absurdly rigid gender roles. They make korean shows seem positively modern.
@@Kayerith i'd be interested in seeing those to get a different perspective. I find cdramas anything but prudish, in fact they seem to play quite a lot with female desire and sexdrive.
@@agneteht Coffee and Vanilla, Kakafukaka, Scum Wish, In House Marriage Honey, Love is Phantom are a few… Love is Phantom was quite the culture shock for me going from K&C Drama, they meet, kiss and start dating all in the first episode 😂 But these that I listed all seem to have a lot more skinship than the vast majority of K&C Dramas that I’ve seen, and bit less of the “deer caught in headlights” type of kiss scenes.
The end will be so much better if Shusei still went to US to get a better education (that is, if US education is better than Japan), and Aoi let him chase his dream, they worked out on long distance relationship or Aoi followed him to get to US unis too. Shusei is handsome, but Reon is definitely more goodlooking, even when compared to Shusei actor from different version

I have mixed feelings about this one. Ridiculous. Also, I'm getting tired of this Chinese and Japanese shows with the trend of men who mistreat the women while secretly liking them, or only for the same man to start liking the woman they mistreat, and for the women to constantly feel the urge to 'prove' themselves 🙄🙄 in school, in companies, in marriage.. Korean shows moved on from those oldies attitude of men being worshipped 😭 Why can't the rest.. Where are the self-respecting women at in most Chinese and Japanese shows.. 😩

Prudish?… you must be watching different JDramas to me because the ones I’ve seen have made KDrama & CDrama the more prudish ones
