Our Dad always reminds all seven of us girls and our two brothers that, "Everything comes from the dirt, so respect it." So true!

the list of skills you have taught your daughters and they are many will stand them thru a lifetime. i think they will always have a confident outlook and no aversion to work or problem solving or adversity will deter them. i only hope they will choose wisely mates in their future.i don't think many suitors will match their potential. you have raised them well. astoundingly well. but you are a hard act to follow. giving girls the trust you have given them their entire lives has undoubtably given them a can do outlook. i don't think a lot of men will match up well. maybe look for neighborhood boys in similar circumstances for a good match.certainly counsel them as best you can. you have given the best example of all thru your love for each other and i hope all your girls want that for themselves. and they certainly know from first hand expeireince what that looks like. i hope the best for all f you. and from reading your comments l'm not alone in that. i want every daughter to have a long happy life the same as you. they certainly deserve it thanks to you.''''''''''''''''

Just found your channel, what your wife and of course you are doing with the girls I think is fantastic. Those young ladies are way ahead of their youth. To the first young lady on the torch your first cut was outstanding there was nothing to be ashamed of, and by the time you got to the second one I couldn't have done a better job..... To a you girls I am proud of you . Oh one more thing watched you build your house, would you build me one, damn good job. I'd hire you....

It focuses the available weight to just a couple of the Forks rather than all four Forks at once!
Great going great project great to see you have everybody involved. Keep up the great work with your great family!

I didn't think using that mild steel would be any good, but you made it so heavy, and stick welding might have been better, but so long as the welds penetrated enough, it should all last a very long time.....at least long enough for the kids to get tired of it.🙂

Now all we need to do is Meccanize it by mounting it on the fount forks. off the tractor, & pushing it forward. to lift the cut & then move forward to rinse & repeat Until you have the ground cut the best result is by using the arms on the bucket to push it into three ground & as it aerates the ground back it lifts the soil & so on. hell, it's almost biblical almost Dubbing the size of the tool. With say a span of 6 feet, & the ability to cross that you have just lifted. cab all at the benefit. the big. casework in the mosquito mounts as there in the cab. the reality of developing the tools to get the job done. I take My hat off to you girls. well done excellent work.

Get that gal a stick welder and you'll be able to get better penetration without having had a lot of welding experience.
I use 6011 Victory rods almost exclusively (using a Lincoln Crackerbox). I call them my Daygo rods.

That must be an awesome guard dog. I have to keep 2 German Shepherds to keep them from becoming someone's meal and those guys can fell a 2' rock wall digging out a mouse or dig up 20 ft of buried drain pipe because water flowing thru it sounds like grave-diggers. And holes. They can dig their way to China while after any gopher that did not get the memo. Finally adjusted their contract to say "will alert owner of any vehicle passing the pump house and any human who is out of place and will try to intimidate the hell out of anything crazy enough to enter the fenced compound around house and will not dig holes or knock down rock walls." They are incredibly effective against human intruders but they are also hell on quail, grouse, starlings, ravens, and gophers. Not so much on other vermin. Was astonished to see them on security camera have a convivial meet and greet with a big grey wolf a good 6" taller than my boys. They were smart enough to give the mountain lion a very wide space and woke me up with strange whimpering woofs so I could run it off. Same with the bear (sometimes being the alpha backfires). But, hey, wolves, mountain lions and bear aren't in their contract.

So jealous! My ground just grows rocks. Every spring, the rocks burst thru the ground as the frost heave digs them out. Then in summer the clay in the ground solidifies as it dries. Installing a fencepost after July 1 requires a degree in Mining and the understanding that you are not digging a hole - you are mining for rocks, the bigger the pile, the deeper the hole. First you find the little hose tip that looks like a firehose tip and then use the garden hose water to blast the clay out until you have a depression big enough to hold a little water. Go away and do something else for a couple of hours. Blast the liquified clay out and remove the rocks as you go and put them in a tight pile so you can see your mining progress so you don't give up. Can usually get a nice hole in about 10 hrs. Late spring around here is sometimes called post-hole season. Growing food requires raised beds with screened bottoms and a fenced enclosure, including the top, to keep the mining critters (gophers, grave-diggers, mice, and voles) out as well as the raccoons and mule deer. Don't have to worry about the elk though, they are fenced in the elk range (noooo, not to make it easier to hunt them, but to keep them out of the orchards). Finally realized it was easier to find wild food than to grow it. Turns out there is lots of wild stuff here in the east slope of the Cascades. Saskatoons, mulberries, and salsify roots are my favorites. Chicory and mustard greens are everywhere in spring. I harvested seed off them and now grow the wild stuff all through the growing season. The good part is they hate cultivated ground; requiring only that you skim off competing weeds. Planting winter squash an inch down is a really good way to also till your ground and add mulch with no effort. Currants and gooseberries love clay. Will be stunted but produce like crazy. Apricots like clay. Still trying to figure out how to grow starch foods and will be trying 5 gallon buckets for potatoes next season.
