      Tot Taylor was a musician, writer and producer. He wrote and produced most of the hits for Mari Wilson and the Wlisations (and other iterations of her band). He created the Compact label and put together or assembled a number of bands to feature on an album. This was one of them.
      The Beautiful Americans were one of his one off projects for the album (to the best of my knowledge).
      He called on British singer (and songwriter) Dale Hargreaves to provide the vocals for this.
      Dale died of a brain tumour less than four years after he recorded this. One reason his name isn’t better known.
