- As soldiers return from the Democratic Republic of Congo after a year deployed abroad, often engaged in firefights with enemy combatants, and sharing some of their stories with EWN, new troops get ready to ship out.
So proud of Lt Col Sekgobela. Have known her as a capable and proud mechanise soldier. 👊🏿
Looking forward to serving with these men and women eventually.
damn i thought i was the only person in the country who was willing to join😁
@@thememorablenovelist5876 it does feel like that man but we're out there.

@@thabangmotsoko6308 hey hey, I’m around your age(20 this year) and looking for more people also keen on joining to workout with, you keen?
Guys I'm proud of you. Lt Col Sekgobela ur an inspiration to South African women serving in the armed forces. Hooray 7SAI!
Salute the Troops
welcome home... you make us proud
Welcome home, South Africa first.
Good job guys we need more of these videos.
I think sandf need to take video or go with crew of sabc so that as a south African community we would be well informed about their mission in drc congo we massin always be the last to know about troops
there are clips and the defence web site has lots of info about what is going on and what mission they have done
Where's Mabena?
hahahahaha
Ahahahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We want to see Mabena!
Mabena mabena...
He’s probably with the ADF cause he forgot what army he’s fight for.
We are proud of the SANDF, may GOD be with you all.
I respect Ur job guys but admin....guys u need to pull up your socks...
So is this how our taxes spent solving others countries problems when we can't solve our own
What's your problem to be solved?
@@dumisanilawrence9918 and you don't think having stable African countries is in South Africa's interest? People don't flee well run countries. Sitting back and closing the borders doesn't solve the problem.
Uninformed UN pay them not paid by your tax. South African Government also benefits from that.
The UN pays for everything mate, a pair of boots, helmet, rifle, etc. The soldiers are paid less than what the UN pays per soldier, the government keeps the rest of the money.
I was there in 2004/2005
Dumisani Lawrence, ur a very stupid boy....every country has its own challenges
SA should build up the military and use it to help build infrastructure in non developed areas. This would help create jobs for millions. not for security to protect white privilege. let them hire private security to do that.
What do you mean protect white privileges?!
@@ginger0208 white privilege. Federal troops are not in the business of private security for a bunch of exclusives. Hire your own goons to look after your giant SUV.
@@Cerl84 show me an instance of the SANDF being used for that when it wasn't required or stipulated in their particular role in the military
What the hell are you talking about? Is it not the fat tummy generals who have turned the force into a recruitment agency for their under achieving kids and relatives and recruited a disproportionate number of overweight girls into the force for their pleasure. Hamba!! Thula!
Proud of u my sister mmina noko
What is the name of the song they're singing at 0:15
We need you guys in our cities not in other countries... But good job I guess 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦💯
Da constitution limits our force on our national soil....we r not police we dnt hv rubber bullets we shoot to kill
I don't think we're getting invaded by any enemy countries yet, buddy. You just need to get your act together in your homes and communities. SA troops don't need to fight their own families they protect them from whatever is across the borders.
What has the SANDF to do in the Congo? Why do the UN have S.A. equipment? So S.A. is the policeman of the continent. Ridiculous!
How is that ridiculous, we gain experience, we get paid by the UN, those countries become stable, it's a win for everyone.
@@ginger0208 Payed by the U.N. ?? Seeing is believing. Our soldiers in jeopardy and on the expense of the taxpayers earnings. Will those countries help us when Iran or China invade us??
@@Homoprimatesapiens Why would iran or China invade us mate South Africa is one of the most neutral countries we are Freinds with everybody and have no enemy's its good our troops are deployed they gain valuable skill and training during there deployments and we help stabilize the continent what's wrong with that
The truth is there are not well trained....
Can you prove that?
I work with ex soldiers and ex police who can't shoit,so what do you call that...well trained?
@@mandlenkosizwane5253 where do you work with them dude? How did you see if they can't shoot?
I cannot say that but me and you or your colleagues can meet so I can prove it to you at zwartkop shooting range or knights germiston,we can even bet if you would like to,on 9mm pistols and rifle(R4,5,6,dashprod or a dm4)

Can someone... anyone please show them how to shape a beret. for gods sake!! If you can't get dress and bearing right! how can you be a proficient soldier?? YOU CANT!
Berets won't ever be shaped perfectly ANYWHERE around the world, and since when did something so small affect how proficient of a soldier you are? You don't even wear the thing in the field. Always negative for no reason...
@@ginger0208 Have you served in the military? I ask that cause if you have you will know that dress and bearing is the minimum standard when it comes to discipline. If you can't get that right, it says what is your discipline on the battlefield? If you not proficient in getting dressed to the standards set, how can you believe to be proficient as a soldier? And yes there are certain ways berets are shaped in each country. You don't even now who i am and presume im always negative??
@@0ddyN I assume that because you brought up the beret, a minor thing. It's virtually impossible to shape a beret the same way as everyone's head is different, everyone's hands are different, as I said in England you will see that the berets of regiments never shape the same even if they are shown how to "do it properly" and that's just one example, you will see it in America too and literally everywhere else.
As a ex soldier from the BTG Alp Susa Taurinese AMF NATO ltaly special Forces i can say that here in Italy all the special Forces used to shape thier berets. Greetings to all my friends there in South Africa.
SADF in white top 1 !👏👏👏👏
apartheid is gone forever, accept that!!!

Lol
It sounds like if they were in one little contact where some shots were fired,WOW.I wonder how these clowns would react if a RPG 6 were fired towards them like in the Angolan war,i guess they would all just ran away like they did in those days.
Rpg7 firstly
😴😴
like they did those days? wtf are you talking about
You know that even now in 2021 that they are in frequent firefights and conduct many operations into hotzones to liberate territory from the ADF?
in the DRC SANDF soldiers scored the now 8th longest sniper kill, he went out and killed 6 M23 rebel leaders, while the rest of the SANDF army attack the M-23 rebel base, they pushed them back to the border, then we used our Rooivalk attack helicopters to destroy them, they surrender 3 days later. M-23 were pretty much wiped out but SANDF soldiers. In C.A.R. 200 SANDF soldiers took on 3000 rebels. they held their ground over a 13-hour firefight until a cease-fire was called. 13 SANDF soldiers died and over 800 rebels were killed. so no they don't run away and they have been in some of the single-action fights on the African continent. in the US 20 years in Iraq and Afganistan they have not had a single engagement as fierce as the one SA was involved in.... maybe SA JDU learn something about the topic before you type rubbish like a complete moron
SANDF what a joke it has become put this guys against real fighting force and they well lose badly
