Arizona is getting way better then people give them credit for, they could very will win the division next seasons. 49ers have too many issues to fix in one offseason.
@@scotttildWe don’t really have that many issues. DC got fixed already. O Line and D Line still need personnel but other than that what needs to be fixed?
@@scotttild I don't see the Cards as anything promising. Kyler is far, far too inconsistent and Harrison Jr looked good, but not game changing just yet. He could develop much more, sure, but that remains to be seen.

Idk if it’s that they don’t want to pay; they’ve kinda already had. They’ve paid Stafford $20M + $61.5M + $27.5M + $ 36M over the last four years. AAV ~$36M, right? with two more years - due for $27M and $31M this year and next - from what I can tell. You might think it may be more preferable moving forward. It’s possible their front office finds more value in rebuilding- possibly quantitatively and philosophically - I think his cap hit is a lot now. idk all the intricacies of structuring Cap & Salary when trading.
You looking at it in hindsight the team barely lost the Super Bowl 7 months earlier and going into the season with Deebo and Jennings wouldn’t win us a super bowl especially after Ricky got shot
@ains7327 I personally would have traded Aiyuk for a 2nd and 3rd (we got less/lost more with Lance) since he was full of drama and not there for pre season... Esp after being so close to winning the SB. I cant stand him personally (as most fans can't either) after all that drama. Huge mistake we won't make again, if you hold out and miss pre season.. Esp with drama you got to go we'll cut our loses and get what we can and move on.
Based on recent drafting successes, the 49ers should continue building their roster with young talents. Stop paying top dollars for just a couple of seasons and getting very little contribution because of injuries or dare I say underperformance.
Tbh I am super impressed with what the Rams have done with literally a roster of mainly nobodies. And with Kyren Williams and Puka to pay on the horizon it makes a bit of sense to shop Stafford and Kupp and look for draft capital. They’re obviously confident they can develop young talent and they have proof of that success. It may mean a tough couple years but I see the Rams being a problem for us for the foreseeable future.
Dude, stop it. You're embarrassing yourself. Stop licking the Rams boots. They are trading Stafford and Kupp because they are old. Nothing to do with Rams being smart or innovative.
I don't agree with David's analysis of the Ram's season. They got off to a horrid start due to their Oline and WR core being decimated with injury. As Niners fans, we know all about how that impacts a team. Once they got relatively healthy, they began reeling off wins. By season's end, they were almost fully healthy (though we learned after the playoffs that Stafford was playing with broken ribs since the 49ers game). That team was inside the 15 yard line of Philly with a minute left, having driven the length of the field and having scored on their previous possession. A missed blocking assignment allows Jalen Carter to come scott-free and sack Stafford on a play where his target had broken wide open. So, they win that game and they host Washington in the NFC Championship and the Rams would be favored to win that game. That's just how things bounce in the NFL. With very few exceptions, the teams that make the Super Bowl each year have to have things bounce their way at the right time somewhere along the way.
I think even the Rams FO realizes they way overachieved last season. Barely beating the decimated 49ers both times and squeaking by Seattle. They got that first playoff win because Darnold went back to seeing ghosts his final 2 games. Stafford is clearly declining, so it's smart for Snead to try and get whatever value can for Stafford who's clearly unhappy rather than letting him walk.
I thought Matthew was going to hit free agency NOT be traded I wonder if he’ll just retire since they’re going to trade him He’s not getting any younger
If the rams move Stafford they will be the worst team in football. They better not trade Stafford at all. That would set there franchise back for years to come. Les Snead and MCVay will be hated.
Been saying for month niners should call bills and trade away 4 1st pick for Josh Allen , lambs are unloading fat contacts and will endup with Josh Allen.
I think they are or they reached the maximum for their salary cap so they have to restock/retool/reload They got a ring out of it so they can’t be too mad about it
I will keep saying it until people understand. THe Browns don’t want players back. They are re building. They want to free up cap space and build up their draft capital. They don’t want players back that eat of cap space and do nothing for them long term.
I wonder if Myles Garrett wants to be a 49er? Myles Garrett alone can't fix the team, too many holes. Maybe the draft will, but we had really unusual success last year. It's gonna take another season to make a serious run for the Championship.
@bradincaliphas Well if he wants a ring he will joined the Chiefs. Everybody knows you automatically win over there. But even the Chiefs don't want talents when they have the face of the nfl franchise mahomes. They have literally nobody except Kelece and Mahomes...and maybe Taylor Swift with her voodoo chanting and dancing with her minions in the suit booth.
Hypothetically, if Stafford was the Browns qb, they'd be a playoff team easily. They really aren't as far off as people think. Joe flacco had that offense cooking last year. The defense has pieces everywhere too.
Stop it. You're embarrassing yourself by joining the trend of "Let's embarrassed Kyle by saying McVay is better because he has a ring by inheriting a Jeff Fisher team."
My goodness! Next season could be quite wonderful! Keep on messing up your teams AZ, RAMS, Seattle :)

I like how the rams are operated.
I agree on the philosophy of dont pay, do trade .
Young team , low salary, and a lot of options to gain momentum.
It's great when the draft picks hit, but that's always a gamble. There are more picks that don't hit than do, so it's a risky approach.

If only we traded Aiyuk b4 last off season, we could have a few more high ish picks this year
Agreed, Jennings was ready to start, he proved that this year. Aiyuk won't be the same either. Wr never are after knee tears.

Nice home...David, great work, thanks for all you do as a reporter/food enthusiasm/The Standard.
I'm not surprised. They went all out and got their ring. Anything after that was just a bonus
Pretty sad how rams have a ring and Niners got none in that time
ok crazy prediction. Stafford to Steelers and Wilson to Rams. Kupp to SF and Deebo to LA. Crazy? Probably.
Based on recent drafting successes, the 49ers should continue building their roster with young talents. Stop paying top dollars for just a couple of seasons and getting very little contribution because of injuries or dare I say underperformance.
There always needs to be a balance of youth and experienced vets.
It's a continual renewal.
Some success and some just dreadful fails including a lot of high picks.

Good report David! Any horses on that property?
People forget his injury history. He recently has had some serious injuries, including his back. Stafford is getting close to retirement.
Jimmy at helm of the Lambs...we just need Trey running the cowgirls
Rams shopping Kupp and Stafford.. Shanahan couldn't say goodbye to Ronnie Bell.
😂ikr! lol Kyle is so weird… why is Jake Moody even a consideration? None of the players fear our coach

Don't over look a trade to minny. They have the draft capital. They also have a team prepared to make another run. Similar offense.
Maybe they are eyeing Rodgers,,? Don't know why but maybe
It would be weird since if they sign Aaron he’s in the same boat as Matthew was (age wise) and is slightly declining
They’re going to stock picks for Arch Manning.
Kroenke is cracking the whip, lol. Their trophy case is complaining
I think even the Rams FO realizes they way overachieved last season. Barely beating the decimated 49ers both times and squeaking by Seattle. How did the Rams come up with such an awesome DL?
This is likely just haggling over the price of Stafford's extension.
That won’t happen David . He’s the only guy they got to make that offense move
QB is hard to find though.
Rams were a possession away from beating the Super Bowl bound eagles in the playoffs. Don’t seem far off
they aren't they are the deadliest team in our division.
Stock up on picks and sign Darnold?
Good lord!
They want a runner quarterback
The Browns would love to trade Garret and Watson as a package 🤣
Possible future move for Arch Manning (assuming he'll announce for it) Ram's Trade the draft picks to move up in 2026?
Interesting because the Rams were only a few plays from getting past Philly. Rams can[t be going down the re building to get Arch Manning.
Waiting for the first troll jumping in here, demanding to trade for him.
I thought Matthew was going to hit free agency NOT be traded I wonder if he’ll just retire since they’re going to trade him
He’s not getting any younger
Stafford to Raiders?
If the rams move Stafford they will be the worst team in football. They better not trade Stafford at all. That would set there franchise back for years to come. Les Snead and MCVay will be hated.
Been saying for month niners should call bills and trade away 4 1st pick for Josh Allen , lambs are unloading fat contacts and will endup with Josh Allen.
They're going for Joe Burrow. No way The Bills will let Josh Allen go.
The bill belichek appoach.
Are the Rams trying to cut salary???
I think they are or they reached the maximum for their salary cap so they have to restock/retool/reload
They got a ring out of it so they can’t be too mad about it
Pls. No JIMMY G...!!!☹☹☹☹☹
Stafford and Cupp package to Cleveland for Garrett. 😢
"Kupp" bro.
The Browns are over the cap, they're not in position to get either Stafford or Kupp.
@drsev61
Ahh, I even went back to correct it after it autocorrected to CUP from Kupp and forgot the C.
@mjjm8446 Dam auto correct gets ya every time. Lol. No worries.
I will keep saying it until people understand. THe Browns don’t want players back. They are re building. They want to free up cap space and build up their draft capital. They don’t want players back that eat of cap space and do nothing for them long term.
They were 13 yards away from beating the eagles. What are you saying. Stafford should retire a Ram.
49ers might be able to steal Garrett. Browns always making stupid moves to sabatage their team .
I wonder if Myles Garrett wants to be a 49er? Myles Garrett alone can't fix the team, too many holes. Maybe the draft will, but we had really unusual success last year. It's gonna take another season to make a serious run for the Championship.

Rams could probably get a 1st for Stafford, and could maybe even recoup the 2 1sts they gave up for him. Would be quite the deal.
hell no. even broowns wouldnt do that
Hypothetically, if Stafford was the Browns qb, they'd be a playoff team easily. They really aren't as far off as people think. Joe flacco had that offense cooking last year. The defense has pieces everywhere too.
The Rams 🐏 are ahead of SF who are overpaying for older injury prone players and underachievers? 🏈🏈🏈
Stop it. You're embarrassing yourself by joining the trend of "Let's embarrassed Kyle by saying McVay is better because he has a ring by inheriting a Jeff Fisher team."
Is Jimmy G still under contract there ?
He was their backup last year.
No, he signed a 1 year deal so he's a UFA in March.
