Go out and tell our story
Let it echo far and wide
Make them hear you
Make them hear you
How justice was our battle
And how justice was denied
Make them hear you
Make them hear you
And say to those who blame us
For the way we chose to fight
That sometimes there are battles
Which are more than black or white
And I could not put down my sword
When justice was my right
Make them hear you
Make them hear you
My part may lead to Heaven or Hell
And God will say what's best
But one thing He will never say
Is that I went quietly to my rest
Go out and tell our story to your daughters and your sons
Make them hear you
Make them hear you
And tell them, in our struggle
We were not the only ones
Make them hear you
Make them hear you
Broken maybe from your parlment
In your classroom with your pen
Teach every child to raise his voice
And then my brothers, then
Will justice be demanded by ten million righteous men?
Make them hear you
When they hear you, I'll be near you
Again
Man I miss her more and more each day, there will never be another voice like hers.RIP QUEEN ARETHA FRANKLIN
What she said at the beginning of the performance and this song is so fitting for what's going on in the world right now today 2020.

What a beautiful song, and interpretation! I had not heard this until this morning when I was asked to learn it to play in church tomorrow. What good fortune for me to have now heard this. Thank you, Aretha, and your musical director. Not a criticism but I wish I could hear this with live strings (instead of digitized). I hope i can find a recorded version with orchestra!
Великая певица! Великая песня! Настоящий шедевр! Просто восторг!

WHAT KEY IS THIS?!?
I've been trying to find a mezzo-friendly arrangement for weeks but I just need a reference and the key she transposed to is perfect. 😭 but I can't find sheet music anywhere.
She needed to take voice lessons around this time. Her transition from chest to head is too obvious and the upper is too weak.
I disagree not everything has to be literal and technical
She sounds good. Best performance of this. Better than the Manela one
@@sheroderickjohnson I will give you that but her upper register at this time was shot and this song has a big ending.
@@no1nestandsalone387 She was out of breathe the most at this time and this song was too big for her to sing. When she sang in her chest voice, her tone was fine but when it was time to move to the next octave, her voice got whiny and the transition wasnt smooth. It sounded like a totally different person in the same song. It like she's singing a duet.
@@cleopatrajones2024 I agree with you
