      The reins in s on both sides now not just on the one side, therefore pulling the bit in the horses mouth to the left side of his mouth, the the guardsmen came out and fitted it right now the horse has calm down. If you look back at that second meltdown, you will see the rains was only on one side of a horse until the guardsmen adjusted it.

      Why does it take so long for someone to come after they push the panic button. This time was fairly quick, but sometimes it takes a long time. What if it really was a serious emergency?

  • @user-yl5bd7te4l
    @user-yl5bd7te4l 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +64

    This horse has learned how to throw the reins. He did this a few weeks ago more than once. One of the troopers kept a tighter rein, two of them did not, so he must like to test the troopers. None of the other horses have try this. This guard still had amazing control.

      That horse did a proper job throwing the right rein completely over to his left side! The trooper did a great job of managing his horse with both reins on one side! He did right to push the emergency button, you lose a lot of control when that happens.

    • @sharono4245
      @sharono4245 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Wow he tossed the right rein again! This horse should probably be taken off duty. Very difficult to keep control of a horse with the reins only on one side.

    • @user-yl5bd7te4l
      @user-yl5bd7te4l 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      makes one think his training may have come into play here. He could have been a whole lot more naughty once that rein flipped. That trooper was somehow keeping control, taking him around again to the box until help arrived. Just astonishing.@@sharono4245

    A Short Guard is ten Troopers and two NCOs, a Long Guard adds a Trumpeter, an Officer and a Standard Bearer. The old guard Trumpeter is the one who goes up to the Mall and then returns to signal the Officer that the new guard is coming. The new guard Trumpeter comes into the courtyard with the rest of the new guard.

    49:14 lady trooper asks, "what will we have for dinner?" Trooper, "nah let's order pizza" ☺ I looked it up yesterday John, how that it comes why horses get restless when they enter the yard from the stables with their eyes in daylight or the sun. That is because the retina from horses closes very slowly, not like with humans when we go into sunlight our eye retina are closing fast. Even I had a horse, I didn't know that, I noticed it in your videos. Also, I told you that horses can see very broad, but they can only look multifocal, that means they can see depth very well, in the front. But monophonic to the rear, it's the same as you shut down one eye and look around. You won't be able to see depth very well. Thanks for the updates.

And it's been going on for many decades. I'm going to be 68 in February, and I was bullied throughout public school. Not something you can easily forget. I find that bullies can't be bullies on their own. They seem to need backup. Lol

    The horse has tossed his reins again as he did earlier. He has all the reins on one side which is why he's upset. There are times you really wish you were there to call out "its the reins" It's not that he's upset exactly, it's because he keeps throwing his rein over his head and then getting uncomfortable. The trooper just needs to keep a closer rein is all. Note he's fine once that's sorted out. No John, SHE stuck her fingers near the horses mouth et voila! And she'd been TOLD to get back and hadn't done so, so sorry, no sympathy here I'm afraid.

    A horse most often tosses his head out of frustration. He wants to go forward, but his rider maintains a firm hold on his face. You hardly ever see a horse on a loose rein toss his head. He might take off running, but he's not flipping his head up and down.
    Most likely she is experiencing pain in her mouth from the bit or from the rider pulling too hard on the reins. She's trying to evade the pain. In old western movies you'll see this a lot when the cowboy jerks the reins when coming to a sliding stop so he can jump dramatically off and shoot at his adversary.
    Horses may nod their heads as a way to relieve discomfort or pain.
    Walking in a circle encourages the horse to use all of its muscles, as it needs to constantly adjust its footing and direction while keeping its body upright.
    walking and circling are undesirable, repetitive behaviours, which horses commonly exhibit when confined, frustrated, bored or stressed.
    When a horse is said to "grab the bit in its teeth" they actually mean that the horse tenses its lips and mouth against the bit to avoid the rider's commands (although some horses may actually learn to get the bit between their molars).

    We have definitely seen that horse before, I remember you commenting about the markings on the nose. I think it may have been a new horse, or an older one not seen.
    Sadly I don't remember the name, but I think I watched the video in the last 2 or 3 weeks, probably doesn't help much.

    @LondonCityWalks I love your videos! The Captain’s horse in this is absolutely SLEEK! Gorgeous horse. And the female Guard who yelled at Karen has always been my favorite. She’s always easily recognizable. I don’t often recognize most of the males, except the Boss man lol. Hard to recognize faces with the regal helmets ❤. I’m happy to hear those Bully Boys will hopefully get their due. I raised 2 men, and went to lots of their functions. My sons weren’t allowed to be jerks like that, and certainly, the ones you spoke to….I would have scolded them rather than ask why. I truly don’t care why…if their parents aren’t going to teach them manners, I will!! If I ever get to visit London, I know where to find you!

    44:13 Z Z Top policeman with his beard reminds me of the musicians who had long beards - rhymes and blue American band Z Z Top still playing in 2024.
    That trumpeter - fabulous cloak that deep red they looked spectacular. Blues and Royals looking marvelous with their very tall horses. As you said John " beauties".
    Mr tossing his reins around his face twice settling like his mate in the left box. Obviously had a Monday morning feeling John, did he tell you how early he had to get up to be groomed to come to work 😂 ?? Hence the rein tossing. 😊.

    I often wonder, these Guards and Horses MUST get tired of being showcased as an attraction for these rude people to abuse them as they do. It really is too bad they could not be sectioned off by some type of barrier, I know that it is not going to happen, just wishing for their sake it could. Perhaps, if a Guard was stationed in front of the horses and told people to 'STAND CLEAR' of the horses ... yeah, I already know how that would go over since they laugh at the Guards in the archways. And the police won't stand out in front, its not their job ... 🤨😐to keep the horses or Guards safe ... Or is it? I don't know anymore. PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND. I know the police are there for any potential terrorist attack but isn't harming the horse or horse guard an attack as well. With the way these people ignore the rules, they are putting the Horse guard and horse in danger.

    They’re keeping you guys on the hop John 😂 Tbh those lads weren’t children tho. They were WELL old enough to know better, they just wanted to be tossers.
    He’d flipped his reins is all, silly boy……much more comfy when that was taken care of. Officers mounts are always completely black and are referred to as chargers.

    Hi John wonderful to see the long guard again after Friday, plus having the Blues & Royals back. When I was young my grandparents said things like “back in my day” or “it was not like that in my day”. On hearing about the school you contacted regarding the disrespectful students I am going to say this would not have happened in my day. I went to Italy and what was then Yugoslavia with my school age 13. My school had a policy if any student had misbehaved in school year they were banned on going on any school trips. So I am surprised this group was given that privilege of even going on a school trip to another country, at the end of the day they are representing their school and country. Now I am the old person (nearly 70) and I keep saying “This would not have happened in my day” lol
    Just a quick question regarding the crowds over the weekend do you think they may have to start restricting the number of visitors or maybe don’t let them touch or pose with the horses and just take their photos and leave? It looked very dangerous there a number of times.

    Oops, you nailed it he's not in a good mood.
    He's agitated he wants to go back to the stable.
    So he comes out of the box and tries to leave and the gaurd tries to bring him back and then he starts throwing his head swishing his tail, thoes are signs he's mad.
    If you notice on his left hip a big indentation.
    He must have had, at one time, a big injury.

    Yeah, I can see what happened. John. The horse shook his head and threw the reins over the underside. So the guardsman only had right hand pool. Which is not good need to have the 4 reigns, one on the 2 on each did. That's what the other trooper was throwing. The reins back over to getting level.😊😊

      There are white horses, however they’re usually dilutes or albinos. Most “white” horses have black skin and are therefore greys.

    I beg to differ with the person who told you that there's no such thing as a white horse. I've seen many pure white horses, in my country of Canada,and on the big screen. Remember The Lone Ranger's White horse called Silver?

    • @LynnL3588
      @LynnL3588 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are true white horses but most are actually grey. Greys are born either black, chestnut or Bay. As they age at a young age they start to turn grey. The darker grey horses are younger. As they age they get lighter and sometimes look white. 😊
