This is my favourite guard on the left that came out at the end of your video. He has been away for over two months now. He shouts at tourist if they misbehave but he is also very kind with the children. So thank him for me please.
LONDON CITY WALKS, did you not see (at about 6.02 mins) the Life Guard return the salute of the little black schoolboy who walked passed him with an "eyes left" and a salute. The Life Guard returned the salute by bringing his sword from the the rest on his shoulder to the carry (vertical) then back again to the shoulder. I bet that made the boy's day.
Yeah isn’t that funny. I’ve often looked back on things I’ve photographed and been utterly astonished at what was going on in the background lol (sometimes the foreground!! But that’s just me…..you’re probably more observant I’d imagine lol)
Just watching the teachers coming through with a line of little ones..Towards the end of the line there was a little boy that was saluting the guard and it looked like he was stepping like he was marching..I thought that was respectful..I guess he has been learning from someone..Just amazing.

What makes your channel stand out is your commentary is so professional, interesting & informative (the list goes on.) It would be a great channel to watch to help educate those who are visiting the places you cover. I've learned a lot since subbing.

The guard on the right is being very accommodating. He's guiding the horse left and right so that the tourists will absolutely have the horse's face in their photo. 46:52 - That's one of my favorite horses! He has the lovely snowy eyebrows! 1:03:04 - These are two of the most beautiful horses that I've seen! I love horses with mottled coats! Just stunning!! 1:23:24 - This is one of the very best guards! I noticed that too, he’s literally pointing the horses face at the same exact direction of the people so they’re all in the photo, it’s really kind of him!! 😊
Still the simplest part of the videos pleases me most. When the horses hear the "bing bong" then hear the box doors open they look like me at 5pm on a Friday. 🤣
The horse knows it's close to "closing" and is ready to go on holiday 😊 I like when the dorrs are opened to the box, the horses turn their heads toward the back like they're thinking, "not much longer"
If I'm not mistaken, the trooper on the right side is the one that is very observant and shows a lot of kindness with kids getting their picture taken when he's a gate guard.
Hello John😀 Oh by the way, I noticed that Q 10 has a small white spot on his left side of his head near his left eye. WHAT A BEAUTY!!!!!!🤩 Please Let me know if I mixed him up another horses? The Life Guard horse that refused to leave knows when he is being nicely treated and warm, so does not want to go out on a cold and windy day. I missed you yesterday and am happy to see what beautiful horses you have for us today and what information you will provide us with.. I always learn something new every time I watch your videos. Try and keep warm, place a hand heater in your pocket and use when needed. God Bless😇
If you’re noticing more tourists from the U.S. this weekend, we celebrated our Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday and a lot of folks take Friday off as well to make a long weekend of it. Thanksgiving is always celebrated the 4th Thursday in November and originally celebrated a good harvest. Now it also celebrates all the blessings we’ve experienced in the past year as well, including that of close friends and family.
Gorgeous horse , he feels safe in the box not wanting to leave or he may want to see what tourists do too. The attention of your camera on him gets my good side this way now this side. Like classmates in school thinking what fun they could get up to.

Weird as it is, puddles can scare horses. They need to see where they're walking to trust the ground. That flooded patch was most likely the issue and why they didn't force the horses out.
John, many tourists fly in for weekend breaks on Thursday evening and early Friday am and as Christmas gets closer the numbers increase for shopping, festivities, Christmas company events, Christmas lights, etc.

The horse probably got spooked by the Korean flag fluttering across the field. It was really flaping. Plus, there was a puddle that isn't usually there.

Awwww that lifeguard horse on the right is very pretty, and seems to have a really nice temperament too. Lovely moment with the guard on the other side returning the salute to the young boy and I also saw a couple of thank yous and acknowledgements of the trooper too so on balance a nice gentle and relatively polite start today. I’m pretty sure someone has mentioned the way some horses hate puddles, especially if they’re coming up to one from a dark area into a brightly lit one. They can’t tell if it’s a deep hole or not and bright contrasts always tend to spook horses too. You be right about them putting that horse in with the remaining Lifeguards to give him a lead past the “spooky puddle”. Btw I don’t think that was Q10 coming in, actually…..doesn’t he have little white spots on the inside of his rear hocks?
I rode my horses in all kinds of weather. The only time I couldn't ride was in fog for obvious reasons and on unsalted roads in black ice conditions. I don't think they'd leave the guards' horses standing still for an hour in absolutely freezing temperatures but perhaps with rugs? I don't know.
They don’t. You might notice in the front corner of the yard sometimes….it’s not always there but they have a temperature humidity etc sensor that measures if the conditions are within the parameters for guard duties. If not they don’t come out.
I’m amazed by so many children don’t smile while they have their pictures taken with the Guard and Horse in the Box. They act like they are bored. Sad 😢

I would love to go to this museum though My mum was stationed at Dean's court Westminster Abby during the war in the ATS and Dad was in the coldstream guards, he would have enjoyed were you are right now. I sometimes think different bits would be more comfortable for the horses. I read that they use snaffle bits, but i know there is more than one type of that bit.

I know where you live! I caught up with the news this morning (UK time) and some houses gone as well. Not a good start to summer. Hope it wasn’t arson.
That sign was hidden by a shrub which is no longer there nor are the other 3. Only moved couple days ago. Presuming the new guard forgot the 45 min inspection so crammed it in before the changeover....rather awkward for him if so. There was a couple of other things he did that seemed to be a bit off. Trooper having a good old chin wag 😃
MAYBE MOVING AROUND A BIT, EVEN IF JUST SMALL MOVEMENTS KEEPS HIM/HER FROM DOZING OFF. LOL. MANY LOOK LIKE THEY GET SLEEPY OUT THERE, KIND OF LIKE I DO DURING BORING LECTURES, ETC. LOL

Stables are not usually dark ...I think the horse wanted to stay in a nice warm stable not a cold parade ground

That Blues horse in the right box has a fleur-de-lis as a marking.
That sign was hidden by a shrub which is no longer there nor are the other 3. Only moved couple days ago. Presuming the new guard forgot the 45 min inspection so crammed it in before the changeover....rather awkward for him if so. There was a couple of other things he did that seemed to be a bit off. Trooper having a good old chin wag 😃

John, I live in Canada & we are almost exactly like you in England, in fact they say that Victoria, BC I more British than the British & it’s very true. We do get cold weather occasionally that is like -8 overnight, but right now it’s 13 & absolutely beautiful after out morning was 0 & chilly 🥶 Love your video❤️ I was wondering if you saw Ormonde in the group of Blues & Royals horses?
