As someone who has been researching thousands of Geometry Dash videos trying to find the highest heart rates, it really is becoming concerning how many people are now reaching BPMs over the 200 threshold. I really hope we don’t get to a point where GD becomes a health hazard for players. After all, the game was intended to be fun, not life-threatening. Btw, awesome video Echo 💙🔥
Yeah I agree, GD is kind of becoming too stressful, especially as the levels get more difficult, and longer, its scary and I really hope no one gets hurt from it lol Thanks for watching :)
@Erou It Is THAT hard. Just because there are levels like aod or slaughterhouse being beaten doesnt mean a top 30(or whatever cognition Is) isnt hard . Its like saying lifting 300kg Is not that hard because there are some people that can lift 500.
This scares me a lot because I have an above average heartrate, and no nerve control. Never seen my heartrate after I beat a new hardest but it’s probably around 200.
As a "pro" player who's been having heart problems lately, it's honestly really demotivating to think about how nerve-wracking this game is. My heart problems almost only seem to appear while playing GD, which has caused me to basically quit the game. When i beat swi i was actually doing fine (even tho i almost passed out), but when i was playing levels like ouroboros, storming summit and cosmic cyclone, i spent tens of thousands more attempts than i needed to, just because i had to end the attempt on purpose, because if i get too nervous i would get severe heart palpitations, missing and double heartbeats, etc.
Yeah I’ve had a similar problem, I physically can’t beat frozen cave because my heart rate goes too high and I have to throw the attempt basically. I don’t get any heart issues after, it’s just incredibly uncomfortable :( You’re really insane though, the fact that even though this happened to you, you pushed through and beat levels like swi. I’d recommend challenges, they’re fun and not at all nerve wracking
One of the best GD videos on TH-cam at the moment hands down. The editing and atmosphere itself on this one is amazing, and although I like more slow-paced videos that are longer, this one is a banger. Thank you for this piece of art, and of course everyone who helped to make this apart from Echo :)
Honestly, now that I think about it, it's no wonder challenges are becoming more popular. The difficulty is straight to the point, you only have to focus on raw skill, and it doesn't mess with your nerves like longer levels do.
the fact that wildpoint got 215 BPM playing future funk (a hard demon) and is now playing sonic wave (77 on pointercrate) is genuinely terrifying thankfully I don't have many problems with heart rate since it rarely goes up even when I want it to and I always manage to die 1937348 times at the end of anything above hard demon and thus never fluke anything, but this video is actually terrifying, didn't help that it's 12:30 at night
personally i've noticed that the body actually adapts to high stress and adrenaline amounts literally the longer i play GD, the less heart rate jumps i experience, like literally getting to less than 150bpm when beating a new hardest, actually catching breath in the middle of the run can be really significant, since the level of focus might be so absurd, that it's easy to start suffocating
i was trying to beat jawbreaker and when i reach the end in the levelmy heart doesn't even go up, it continues normal, i remember when i beat nine circles that my heart rate was high but now it's not that high anymore. (i probably misspelled something) the last time i got a high heart rate in gd was when i beat acu, jump from nine circles
This is insane because I was in the exact same position as this person, doing a overly long difficult level, bad nerve control, and it was a new hardest. I got 99% once (thankfully) and that alone was probably breaching the 190's although I imagine my actual completion was at least in the 180's probably the most stress inducing thing I'll do for a long time until I either attempt dark odyssey or butiti II, but until then, I'll try to stay safe :)
when i died on the last spike at bloodlust, i actually got lightheaded and almost fainted. it was very terrifying. i never touched bloodlust or even geometry dash for a week afterwards.
Hey, this is Joshua83 here. Thanks for featuring me on this video! I keep looking back at these moments and realizing that this game can really make you anxious, and I was really showing that XD
Geometry dash is easily the most stressful game ever. When i play horror games, my heart rate is usually not that high, or pretty low tbh. But geometry dash, through the friggen roof
thats probably the best intro to gd ive ever seen you could put these first 2 mins in a gd ad and people would like buy the game massively im not even kidding
Awesome documentary, I knew how nerve wracking GD can get, but never thought it would become a health hazard. I’m glad you made this, to help players stay safe.
Fun fact: epinephrine actually can trigger 3 responses, fight, flight or freeze, where freeze is when you feel frozen and stuck to the ground, and find it hard to move at all
Sometimes I just feel like we're reaching our humanly limits in gd to find out some guy is quite literally going past the limit to the point that they have a higher possibility of dying.
I'm not gonna lie, when I clicked this video I thought it would be about knobbelboy almost committing suicide after getting 98% on bloodlust (not sure if that's actually true, though I have heard that from several people), but this was very interesting to watch. Great documentary, and the last sentence is terrifying. The odds that someone does one day have a heart attack and dies from playing geometry dash are probably way higher than I've ever considered
My heartrate got to 150 after beating Change Of Scene and it felt like I was about to have a heart attack I can't imagine getting a heartrate as high as any of these
My heart rate goes up but when i beat future funk (my hardest rn) i said “i just verified the golden lets go” and “okay that will be 9721 attempts”. Ive noticed that my heartrate goes really high BUT my reactions are super chill.
Future funk is one of my most fun demon completions and I highly recommended people play it. Your heart rate likely won’t go THAT high btw, also play the medium demon B, that’s also very good. If you’re skilled enough, also try the lost existence - it’s an XL extreme demon and I enjoyed beating it quite a lot!.
This is… scary. As I’ve progressed in the game, I’ve noticed I tend to get nervous and my BPM increases whenever I beat new hardests, I still remember how hard and quickly my heart was pounding when I beat my current one, and I’m trying to jump to a 6 minute long nerve control extreme demon…
Omggg i just can’t imagine how scary it would be to be in a discord call with wildpoint while he is at the end of sonic wave for example. He gets to the end beats it… but then he just… dies…
Just a couple of days ago, I fluked B from 76%. Couldn’t stop shaking for a bit, and it was difficult to type to tell my friends about it. I should, uh, probably learn some nerve control.
My highest heart rate i think is around 180-200, i beat my first hard demon Also about awful fails, i got 89% on The Furious and just said ”YES!” Idk why i was so happy for dying at the end of the level
I didn't know wild point was going for sonic wave! That level got my heart rate up to the highest it's ever been, at 194 bpm when i beat it, hopefully wild point doesn't set a new record again...
Yes, some people do hold their breath. imagine yourself playing a level like plasma pulse finale, something sufficiently hard (which is what future funk was to that person) some people would instinctively hold their breath to focus
The accuracy of the heart rate monitor also matters. It depends on how the monitor is attached and its quality to determine the accuracy. I have a friend who while running, has recorded 250+ heart rate, but that is obviously false. That was from a wrist watch HR monitor. But that’s not to invalidate all high HR instances- just in some cases. Who knows whether it is accurate or not, as it isn’t the first thing I would think of after beating a hard level to manually check my heart rate with a timer and simple counting.
The day that someone unfortunately dies of a heart attack playing Geometry dash is when the game will either die or get cancelled from every corner of the earth for semi- valid reasons. And that's both terrifying all the same
I jumped to acu from a easy hard demon and my bpm was just 130, but I had a bigger bpm with other runs in different levels, in future funk for example, when I died at 92% my bpm was 199, and when I did a 50-100 in wasureta my bpm was 187, I think the bpm you have depends entirely in the experience you have on a level or how hard the level it's for you at that moment, if you play a level you find fun and easy for your skill you'll be pretty calm, but if you beat a level with trash and hard gameplay (the average +medium demon today) you'll be pretty nervous, but in the end all depends if you can control your nervousness correctly. good video btw
I have a heartrate monitor on my clock when i play Geometry Dash, and since I'm 16 years old and have an unusual high natural heart rate, not sure if it is because of my ADHD, when I beat my hardest: Nine Circles. My heart rate rose to 196. How high will it reach if I go for more difficult levels requiring more dedication, I don't know. FYI I spent 3 days on Nine Circles, but I am too bothered to go for a new hardest. So it scares me if I spend months on a level and get far.
This terrifies me, I have super big Paranoia and can't stop thinking about if this happens. When I beat bloudeluste I could hear my heart pounding . It was well over 150. I have terrible nerve control and an above average heartrate this video made me scared if my heart Raye felt like way over 150 on an EASY DEMON It might actually happen if I go for an extreme, which has bern my dream ever since i got the game. Now I can't stop thinking about it. Great video , honestly but this is not your fault when I say I wish I didn't watch it
I get around 120-140 exercising, seeing people get 200+ playing games just seems really dangerous. I wonder how this hasn't hurt anyone yet (as far as I know)
Alright, is it weird that whoever the dude that died at 80% in Future Funk got his heartbeat rate to 212BPM, yet when I died there at 89%, I just shook it off like I'll do that later? Or am I just too calm?
As a person who plays gd and slope, i did get high heartrates. Mostly when i get far in acu or when i get over 140 on slope, but one time when i was at 130 in slope. My heartrate was going so fast i started breathing heavily and tried to calm down cause i thought i was gonna have a heart attack, after i died at 168 i never had high heartrates again. So slope gave me nerve control
High heart rates can be pretty scary I peaked over 205 for about 5 seconds after I beat thanatophobia after a year and a half it reached 207 on my Fitbit and I honestly felt like I was about to pass out and die
As someone who has been researching thousands of Geometry Dash videos trying to find the highest heart rates, it really is becoming concerning how many people are now reaching BPMs over the 200 threshold.
